My husband passed away 1-1/2 years ago. When I was cleaning out his closet I found the ukulele at the back of the closet. I took it out and I tuned it up. Then I looked up online and found several people who were giving beginner ukulele music lessons. One of these people was Cynthia Lin! I am so grateful for her and her tutorials on the ukulele!
I have been teaching elementary music for 42 years and this is my 9th year teaching ukulele to my 5th graders. I love playing and my students look forward to playing every year. I'm grateful that I could continue to teach this year after having to have a quadruple by-pass open heart surgery on the first day of school. I'm back at school full-time now and feeling great. I love seeing all the 800+ faces of my students at school!
I'm grateful for my Mum, still going strong at 98 years of age. I always entertain her with my ukelele whenever I see her, and she is still able to harmonise along with me when I play her favourite songs. Especially beautiful is her rendition of the Skye Boat Song, an old favourite that she used to sing to me as a kid.
I am most grateful for my friends and family who always come through with unconditional love, encouragement and friendship. I’m also grateful for good health and the challenge we get through learning how to play an instrument. I’ve been playing ukulele for over 3 years and still love picking it up and playing along with videos and friends. This coming from a guy who never played an instrument in his life. Thank you Cynthia for making this possible!
This year, I am grateful for my spontaneous remission of cancer. From being diagnosed a year ago to being declared cancer free 9 months later is a magnificent blessing. No chemo or radiation but proper nutrition, support, and prayers did the trick. It’s the best gift I could ever dream of. Now I have lots of years ahead of me to play more ukulele.
I'm grateful for generous online ukulele teachers like Cynthia Lin, who got me started with Uke. I've been playing for 4 years and play almost every day.
Im so grateful for my husband of forty years. Christmas of 2023, he gave me a ukulele. I’ve been playing it for almost a year now and even belong to our local uke band. So much fun!
I am grateful every day for another 24 hrs on Earth. I am so grateful for my family and ohana in the uke world, couldn’t find more wonderful people. 😎 So happy for uke playing and sharing joy in our community, thank you Cynthia, and group for lessons and fun! I have been playing now 6 years, and cherish every single 🎶 song & practice. ❤😊 It brings joy to my spirit.
I am grateful to have survived stage 3 breast cancer. I have dabbled in ukulele since the pandemic. I am borrowing my nephews ukulele right now. I find ukulele music so calming.
I am grateful to you, Cynthia, for all your generous offerings and encouraging style. My family is going through some trauma so playing ukulele brings a lot of solace. Thank you so much.
Hi, I’ve just received my ukulele 3 weeks ago, so I have just started my ukulele journey . I am grateful for finding the ukulele community so warm and welcoming.
I have the privilege of teaching ukulele to seniors at 3 of our county senior centers. We call ourselves the Pike County Ukuladies and Gents. We have performed a handful of shows throughout our area here in NE Pennsylvania over the past year. I am so incredibly grateful for my students. 😊 I have been playing ukulele for 12 years.
I am grateful for my parents, whom it’s getting better with now after a difficult year. And I have been playing the ukulele for more than 5 years now and find joy in it still every day ❤
I'm grateful for such a vibrant ukulele community. I started playing just over a year ago. I decided to learn ukulele so I could play a song for my daughter at her wedding reception. She was soooo surprised. I couldn't have done it without your tutorials!
I'm grateful that I could travel to see my first grandbaby for her first birthday! It was wonderful! I hope that she will love to play the ukulele too!❤
Hi from Japan. I’m grateful for care my mom, dad and my sister and our dog give me. I’ve been suffering from severe health conditions. My mom drives me for hours to the hospitals for regular checkups. My dad goes grocery shopping for me. My sister cooks for me. Our dog always always uplifts the atmosphere and always cheers us up with her unconditional love. I’m so grateful for their caring loving heart.
I am grateful for my family who support me unconditionally and grateful for living in such a wonderful country. I have only been playing ukulele for a few months.
I am so grateful for my ukulele community, the Aloha Strummers in Mission Viejo, CA. We are a group of 100+ and continue to grow. Every Tuesday we play and sing all types of music, and it is the highlight of my week. I joined in April 2023 when I happened to walk by their weekly gathering, and heard and saw all the fun they were having. I have always been a singer, but when they invited me in that day to join them and sing along, I went and bought a ukulele that night and started to play. Now I've been playing for about 20 months and it has become a huge part of my life! Being able to accompany myself now on an instrument has brought me much joy, and I love the friends I have made in our ukulele community!
I am grateful for my Mother for keeping my interest alive to learn the ukulele. I started lessons in October 2024. My uncle was in World War II and stationed in Hawaii. He sent ukuleles and music home to his 7 brothers and sisters and they all played well. I got my first ukulele when I was 14. I just took a class to refresh myself after 60 years. Cynthia Lyn is one of my favorite play a longs.
I am grateful for technology that allows music to be learned anywhere by anyone who has the interest! As a 57 year old gal, I wouldn't have access to information to help me learn to play without it. Music is the universal language of the world!
I have been playing and teaching incarcerated youth for the nearly seven years and am so grateful for the opportunity to pass on the joy of playing the ukulele and singing with these kids!
I am very grateful that this year, my two boys and I started attending church and experiencing God's love.💖 My sons and I have been playing ukulele for three years. We all love you, Cynthia!😘 So luckly we met you and played uke together last April in Taipei, Taiwan! Woohoo!🤟
I'm grateful for my husband's cancer remission! Every day is a gift! I've been playing ukulele for 3 years. I'm also thankful for this chance to win some wonderful prizes. Thank you 😊
Grateful for my loving husband and beautiful grown children and their spouses. I'm also grateful for my wonderful mom in her 80's now. Family means more than any material gifts that we can receive during the holidays!❤
Happy holidays everyone! I am grateful for the loving and supportive people in my life and being introduced to music as a child. Playing an instrument has colored my life in numerous ways and now I'm able to pass to my children who are falling in love with making music. I have been playing ukulele for 10 years.
I’m grateful for having a loving and supportive family. I’ve been playing ukulele on and off for around 5 years (Cynthia’s still my favorite teacher 😊)
I’m grateful for Cynthia Lin because she is a patient and kind teacher, and I could finally learn how to play the ukulele because she breaks it down so well and compassionately. I’m grateful to the Hawaiian people for sharing their sweet little instrument that I love with the world. 🙏💕 Playing for 8 years.
I am grateful for the many ukulele communities that are fully inclusive and accepting of all skill levels. We all start at the same level, and our individuality makes the difference. I’ve been playing for about 3 years and a slow learner. Also thankful for the relaxing sound ukuleles make. Playing is my daily decompression. Thank you Cynthia for all you do for us! Mahalo!
I am grateful for doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinic. They are curing my wife from boobie cancer. I have been playing ukelele 2 years now, and it helps me manage the stress of this horrible disease. Happy Holidays!
I am grateful for our ukulele community here in north eastern Ohio, USA. I have been playing ukulele for about 8 years, and I am thankful to Cynthia Lin for helping me get started.
I am grateful to have discovered a world-wide group of like minded people through the Patreon group and 100 days project. Improving in confidence and skill has allowed me to volunteer weekly at an Aged Care facility in a program called Singing Strong and to take on a leadership role in our local Ukulele Group. I began playing Ukulele as a retirement project in 2019. Initially Ukulele was just an excuse to sing...but it so much more. Thanks Everyone.
Hello. Im Alexis and I’ve been playing/learning ukulele for only a couple months. I’m for one grateful to have access to an instrument (ukulele a little more than others😁) I am also so so so grateful for coming across wonderful online ukulele teachers. I would know absolutely nothing about ukulele and couldn’t keep going on this musical journey without the help I get from these teachers. Having the opportunity to play/learn ukulele is becoming a big thing in my life and I am just deeply grateful for the entire ukulele community and everything that they do. Thank you ukulele COMMUNITY!!
I am grateful for ukulele sing-alongs, both in-person and online. They are such a great way to bring communities together, especially in troubled times. Last night, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we had a sing-along at a woodworking club and Saturday my ukulele club (the Druid Ukes) will join another sing-along sponsored by a local newspaper. I have been playing ukulele for about seven years. I am certainly no virtuoso, but I get a lot of enjoyment from playing with others!
Hi Cynthia, I am grateful for my family. I have two boys ages 22 and 18 and I am so proud of them both. Both are involved with music and it was because I got ukulele lessons for them 15 years ago that I started playing. I've been playing all of those 15 years and lead a ukulele caroling group and your book is so helpful! Thank you.
I am very grateful for my little family. My son brings so much joy to everyday life. He's already starting to learn the ukulele with me. I started playing the ukulele last summer. So it's been 1.5 years now. I started with the youtube videos of Cynthia Lin, which I love so much! Playing the ukulele is a wonderful addition to my yoga practice and I love accompanying the matras with the ukulele.
This year, I’m grateful to have discovered the ukulele as a way to mentally de-stress and declutter my ADHD brain. I’m especially thankful for my wife’s unwavering support-she’s been so encouraging, even when I’m learning new songs or notes.
I am so grateful for my family - I lost my mom & older brother a few months ago within weeks of each other & I don't know what I would have done without my family to see me through. I'm also grateful for my local ukulele group - we play at nursing homes & other community events & it always makes me smile to spread joy through music to others! I've been playing for 2 years now.
I began playing ukulele during covid when I noticed how much fun my friend was having. Learning to play the ukulele and playing with friends helped me through the loneliness of covid. I am grateful that my mom just made it through 12 rounds of chemo, something we are celebrating over the holidays.
Hello! I'm Lisa, and I started playing the ukulele two years ago. I take in-person lessons as well as follow my favorite RUclips channels! I am grateful for the encouragement and support I get from my family, who take my having fun very seriously!❤❤
I have been playing ukulele for over 6 years now. I’m amazed at and grateful for the musical skills I have developed in these years. The friendliness and encouragement of our ukulele community has kept me playing regularly and always finding more that I want to learn. Thank you!
I work on a plane and take my ukulele with me on my overnights to play inside my hotel rooms. The thought of playing in front of a crowd sends me away, so I doubt I'll ever be playing for my passengers. I’ve been playing for about five years now. It’s very healing after a crazy day to have the music go through me. Thank you for doing what you do.
I am grateful for the people that were in my life, the ones that are here today and for those that will come in the future ❤️ I bought my first ukulele 2 years ago and am learning slowly but surely
I am grateful for every moment of peace that my ukulele gives me and my family, giving us the stability which we need in these very busy and stressful years. I have been playing ukulele for 5 years and I have now started passing this beautiful gift onto my little 2-year old! Greetings from Italy, Cynthia!
I am grateful to have the opportunity to share the joy of playing ukulele with my 5th grade music students each year. Cynthia Lin tutorials and strum-alongs are always a part of my teaching. It always warm my heart to see the excitement of a student who just got their own ukulele to play at home (not just the instruments we have in class). Though I have trouble remembering at this point, but I think I have been playing/teaching ukulele for 10 -12 years.
Hi from Germany. Playing the ukulele helped me survive the lowest point in my life a few years ago. I'm grateful that I met wonderful new friends through the uke and I'm so happy that there's this small community of ukulele players in my city. I'm also grateful that I got to see you live in Berlin this year. Please come again soon. I've been a huge fan since I discovered your wonderful youtube videos. Thank you for your great work and I hope you keep on doing it.
I've been playing ukulele since the pandemic--it was one of the things that made the time bearable. I had played guitar and bass in the past, so it wasn't starting from scratch. I'm grateful for all the ukulele players and makers out there; and for teachers like Cynthia, who share their knowledge with the world!
I am grateful for my family and friends (that are like family). Learning to play the ukulele was my project, therapy, and meditation while I was on maternity leave. It was a really special time and I love that I was able to find peace and joy through music.
I’m grateful for my wonderful family who, five years ago decided we would do a Secret Santa at Christmas and I got my first Ukulele! 😊🎄 So I have been playing Ukulele for five years ❤
I am so grateful for the being able to pick up a ukelele at 65yo and access such a loving online community. I've been playing for almost 2 years and its amazing the benefits I am experiencing. Learning new music, meeting new friends and using the technology; such an enhancement to my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I began playing the ukulele in 2018, but eventually took a break for some time. Last year, I dealt with a neck and shoulder injury that required me to go through group therapy. During that time, I was fortunate to share my music with the group, and it became a powerful tool for both my physical and mental healing. Playing the ukulele not only helped me reconnect with my creativity, but it also played a significant role in improving my mental health, offering comfort and a sense of peace during a challenging period. I'm truly grateful for the healing power of music and for the support of the people around me.
I am grateful that someone like myself, with No musical background can go on RUclips, find your videos and learn how to play a beautiful instrument like the Ukulele. Thank you, Cynthia, for your dedication over the years to your channel. I found your videos in 2020 but have been actively learning ukulele for the past 3 months.
I am grateful for the community found through music, and the joy music brings to people. I started learning how to play ukulele during COVID, and being able to play and learn a little more each day brought me so much happiness during a very dark time. Even now, the ukulele is my favorite instrument and I've gotten to connect with lots of other ukulele players. Thank you for your lessons and being a part of my ukulele journey Cynthia!
So grateful for all the joy that ukuleles bring into our lives, whether we're just listening or playing along! I've been playing for 5 or 6 years. I'm really grateful for your tutorials and songbooks, too, Cynthia! Mahalo!
There are so many things in life to be grateful for, one of them is to hear the sound of the ukulele. My desire is to start playing again with the Aloha spirit.
Here’s one thing I’m grateful for that snowballs into more grateful things: Having reliable internet connectivity to the world wide web because it enables me to connect with inspiring teachers like Cynthia, who in turn helps me learn new stuff, all while making new friends especially in the uke community, here in the US and abroad. I started seriously learning the uke in September 2022, which means I’ve been playing a little over 2 yrs now. I'm loving it! Much thanks to you, Cynthia.
I'm grateful for God's getting me through open heart surgery at 73 yrs. old, on Sept 4th. Also thankful for my son and his wife after 3 1/2 years finally adopting their second adopted child on Tuesday 11/10/24. I've been playing for about 3 years.
I started playing Ukulele during COVID because I am a choir teacher and I wasn’t allowed to sing with my students. I learned how to play along with them by using your tutorial videos. I am now teaching Ukuleles to all of my fourth grade students and we ALL LOVE it. Thanks for being such an inspiration and keeping Music alive during such a dark season.
My hubby and I are retired, and started to learn to play the uke during COVID. I live in a remote area in Canada. I am thankful for your music books, lessons, your website and your cheerful way you share your talents and fellow uke connections. THANK YOU for helping us get through the long winter season.
I’m so deeply grateful for the journey of finding self-love. The past few years have felt like a battle, a struggle between who I am and who I want to be. Through all the highs and lows, the ukulele has been my refuge, my voice when words failed me. I’ve been playing for over 7 years, and La Vie en Rose, one of the first songs I learned through Cynthia’s tutorial, became more than just a song to me. It became a reminder to see life’s beauty even in the hardest moments. Thank you, Cynthia, for sharing your light and inspiring so many of us to keep playing!
I’ve been playing the ukulele for about 2 years. I sit down and play every day, a couple of times a day. I am most rewarded by the smiles and singing along of my hospice client and the other residents of a memory care facility. I’m so appreciative of the music you make available along with your videos! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
Hello Cynthia and community! I've been playing for almost 3yr amd still very much a novice beginner 😊 So much to be grateful for! It's been a tough, interesting and beautiful year that's for sure. 3 things I'm grateful for: 1. Building community and expanding my sol fam. I've met so so so many wonderful new humans and have gotten to connect deeper with other Dears I've know for awhile. 2. All the amazing dudes that live in my home. This is the most help, supported, respected and seen I have felt in my communal home I started about 4 1/2 yrs ago. 3. For my amazing partner doing his best to meet me where I am at in our relationship, supporting me in my path, and his desire for us to do better individually and collectively. Blessings all around!
I am grateful that I found the Ukulele the "universal instrument of peace"! Learning to play the ukulele has brought new joy to my life and been my salvation to endure the past crazy +4 years of pandemic and insane politics. Who knew such a little instrument could have such a large impact. I have been playing guitar for +40 years and ukulele for 2 years. Wish I had picked it up decades ago! Also, I am extremely grateful for instructors like Cynthia Lin who make learning the ukulele fun!
I am grateful for the love of playing music with my ukulele and sharing this love with my friends and family. Music brings people together and a wonderful way to worship life. One of my greatest personal treasures is my Ukulele. The sound of this little instrument puts smiles on all who listen. It is truly a wonderful gift. And, Cythina Lin has shared her instructions to many to teach what the joy of playing a ukulele can bring into your life. God Bless.
Love watching your tutorials! I've been playing for about 5 years now. I play with a uke group every Tuesday & Friday, we like to perform for schools and Senior homes, we also perform every year for Cancer Society- Cancer Walk. Playing ukulele has literally saved my life, I'm so grateful to live in a great community that offered free classes, ukulele playing brings me peace 🌺❤️
Hi I’ Ambrine from France I’m grateful to find your channel with the variety of music we can learn as a debutant! Indeed it’s really rare to find ukulele teachers in France and as a passionate of music since my early age, I’m 18 now and want to perform in ukulele and I’m really grateful my father helped me by finance my passion even tho it can be really expensive! I’v been studying ukulele since 1 year !
I am grateful for my daughter, Leili who supported me and encouraged me to keep going in learning how to play the ukulele! I’m grateful for you, Cynthia for your free online classes, music sheets for beginners, and for inspiring me and everyone to keep playing and have music in our hearts! 💖
I am very thankful for my family and friends. I am also thankful for the medical improvements that I have had to overcome due to a botched surgery. I thank God for everything. I have been playing off and on for over 4 years, I try to play more, but it seems that life gets in the way. Thank you for your songs and teaching along the way.
I am grateful that my family members are currently healthy and financially stable and are on track to have a nice holiday season. I have been playing ukulele since 2016 and am now 67 and still playing. Thank you Cynthia for bringing so much joy and happiness into the world.
We’re grateful for you, Cynthia Lin. Your music brings us much joy! We’ve been playing ukulele now for 5 years! Your channel has been instrumental in helping us to learn how to play. Thank you so much for all you do to bring joy into this world… Aloha ❤
I am thankful for Jesus Christ, our Savior, from whom all blessings flow. My daughters and I have been playing the ukulele for 4 years now. We bring our ukulele at church on Sundays, I teach Sunday school and my daughter play for the kids for praise and worship. Thank you for everything that you do for us Cynthia! ❤
I started playing ukulele in Feb 2020 at the start of covid. I self-taught myself by watching your videos. Today I play with an Ukelele group in Arizona. We are asked to perform at several functions and I have met many performers since. I love your work and still follow you, Thank you for your videos, they are wonderful.
Ukele is the first stringed instrument I’ve ever played and I’m 74. You made learning the ukelele so much fun with your positive attitude and smiles. I started with Christmas carols and your holiday song book December 2020. It helped me throughout the pandemic. It also challenged my brain as both my mom and sister suffered with dementia. Thank you for sharing your passion for teaching others❤ Have a wonderful Christmas and will be live with you on the 14th🎄
Well I am grateful for so much in my life, from my wife, best friend and partner and our five wonderful kids, who have given us nine terrific grand children and all do appear to be well verse in the practice of Love. Which reminds me of the additional gratitude I feel practically every day since I began playing ukulele, spring of 2021. When I retired and decided to give it a try, after a lifetime of on again off again mediocre guitar play, I discovered the on-line presence in the likes of Cynthia Lin to whom I am so grateful for introducing me to a community fueled on the smiles they generate through playing this amazing instrument. I signed up for 💯Days first in 2022 and have enjoyed the happiness they share each and every day since. You taught this old man that there is no need to be perfect. Thank you ...🙏😊🎼
Hello! I've been playing for a few years but was self taught. I now take lessons and play in an ensemble, which is tons of fun. I'm grateful for the community and support of my ukulele friends. Thanks for all you do!
I'm grateful for being able to learn ukulele through Cynthia's channel with her friendly, approchable, happy and professional way of teaching anytime anywhere.
Playing what I learned from elementary school for my 88 y. old mother living with dementia who was born and raised in Molokai. I moved her from Hawaii to Boulder, Co just before Covid and the early stages of her dementia. She loves the old Hawaiian and hapa hoele songs from your classes that I’ve learned. The saprano ukulele chords are too high for her to sing. Love to see if the tenor Ike will be more comfortable for her. So appreciate you sharing your talent and passion. Mom loves the smile and happiness you share on you tube.

I did the same...after my husbands death in 2024 I took up ukulele and am enjoying it emmensly.
I have been teaching elementary music for 42 years and this is my 9th year teaching ukulele to my 5th graders. I love playing and my students look forward to playing every year. I’ve been playing for about 3 years and a slow learner. Also thankful for the relaxing sound ukuleles make. Playing is my daily decompression. Thank you Cynthia for all you do for us! Mahalo!
I've been play ukulele for over 10 years. I'm grateful to music, my health, and most grateful for peace.
I’ve been playing ukulele for 5 years now and I’m super grateful for all the times music has brought people in my life together!
I’m thankful for my family and friends who have been so supportive and helpful as I just had my first baby
Aloha from North Texas! I am very grateful for my local food pantry (GRACE) and the commitment it's employees and volunteers have for the community.
I am grateful for my wife and my family! I couldn’t be where I am today without them!
I am grateful for the people that were in my life, the ones that are here today and for those that will come in the future ❤️
I bought my first ukulele 2 years ago and am learning slowly but surely
I'm grateful for generous teachers on youtube helping me learn. I've been playing the ukulele a little over 1 year now!
I'm grateful for the gift of music and its impact on the neurodivergent children in my life!
I’m grateful for my wonderful family who, five years ago decided we would do a Secret Santa at Christmas and I got my first Ukulele! 😊🎄
So I have been playing Ukulele for five years ❤
I am so grateful for the being able to pick up a ukelele at 65yo and access such a loving online community. I've been playing for almost 2 years and its amazing the benefits I am experiencing. Learning new music, meeting new friends and using the technology; such an enhancement to my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks you Cynthia ❤ for all the videos !!!! We see You all over the World!.
I have been playing uke for 2.5 years and it has brought much joy to my life. I am grateful for my in-person and online ukulele community.
I have been playing the Ukulele for a year now. I am grateful for everyone who has helped me on my journey to learn to play the Ukulele.

I am so grateful for communal music making. It knits our community together and provides a unique opportunity for healing! Thanks for all you do!
I am grateful for friends and family, and I am especially grateful for the special moments I get to spend with my elderly Dad this holiday season.
Thank you for sharing your passion for teaching others❤
Have a wonderful Christmas and will be live with you on the 14th🎄
