Aurora over Cottonwood, NorCal, on 05-10/11 2024

A G5 solar storm, strongest since 2003, produced a magnificent once-in-a-lifetime view of the northern lights in northern Calif.
The aurora started around 10:30 p.m. and lasted until at least 2 a.m. the next morning. Though the camera pics reveal more color than what I could see with the naked eye, it was still easy to see.
