also just a quick thing they are korean so they say their family name first. Bae,Kang,Cho and Ko are their family names not their first names.

Base is the very low voice. Soprano is the very high voice. In order from the highest to the lowest, you have Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Base. Vibrato is the technique that makes the voice “vibrate”, and can be done in all registers. You should look for a live version of this song, it is amazing! Hopefullly you are now hooked into Forestella! Please check their cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and also of “Shape of you”, both are amazing. And there are many more!
the way you pronounce it is correct.
the deep one is the bass. the one singing high is the countertenor. soprano is typically a woman.
for men, high to low:
countertenor: highest
tenor: high
baritone: middle
bass: low
there's also less commonly a half step between tenor and baritone, called baritenor.
forestella consists of countertenor hyungho kang, tenor mingyu cho, baritentor doohoon bae and bass/baritone woorim ko.
doohoon and woorim split the baritone range.

In this m/v, they took the 4 elements idea of Aristotle like each of them is representing an element. Kang HyungHo (who first started the song) is the Fire, Bae DooHoon (who second sang after HyungHo) is the Water, Cho MinGyu (blue hair) is the Air and Ko WooRim (low voice) is the Earth. Interestingly, their vocal ranges fit the elements for each, too.
The lives came from the world tree, and all 4 are growing the tree with their singing.
I believe they presented concepts connected with their covers for Inner Universe, Lazenca Save us and Bad Romance. Maybe Fake Love and MAMA too.
The costume concept seems 4 elements at first, and then the Sunlight (the outfits with golden decoration), dark night (just me calling it, black outfits), and the Moonlight (white outfits).
This is the 1st part of their trilogy. In their Save our lives you can find act 1~3, and in Utopia act 4~6.
At the end of this video, you can see the World Tree was growing up. That concept of the world tree of life is from Nordic myth's Yggdrasill, so their concept and story is also a crossover of the biblical metaphors and nordic mythical symbols..

Hi~ Thank you for your reaction to FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!!
When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. I wanna recommend "just a few" songs in the below. If you live in outside of S.Korea, some videos might not be seen. In that case, please google the song, then there might be several videos. Members
Ko woorim (bass)
- He is an classically trained opera singer.
More exactly, he is basso profondo bass which is the lowest range of the bass.
Because other three members take high part, he serves as a pillar of the group.
Cho mingyu (tenore, leader)
-He is also classically trained opera singer and same school senior of Ko woorim.
He is leggiero tener, the highest range of tenore.
He has very soft and operatic voice.
Bae doohonn(tenore, musical actor)
-He is a musical actor. When he sings, he controls the dynamics well and uses the vibrato skillfully.
Of course, being a musical actor, he uses facial expressions and gestures very well when he sings.
Kang hyungho(sorprano, tenore, rock)
ㅡ He is soprano, tenore and rocker. Male sorprano is very rare, but he is ’never‘ classically trained before. He was a chemist when he appeared in the audition. He naturally has a very high vocal range. But he also has low voice range, which contrays his angelic sorprano voice. He was in a rock band as a student and continues to play rock music under the name 'pitta'.

Thanks for the reaction guys!! Korean names are usually written family name + given name, so the guy's names are actually DooHoon, HyungHo, Mingyu and Woorim. But if it's easier for you to call them by their family names you can do so, just keep in mind that many Koreans have those same family names so they're probably gonna repeat if you ever react to other Korean artists.

Soprano is the high voice, bass is the low voice. Baritone is just above bass, and tenor is just below soprano. So, in order from low to high, Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Soprano. There are variations between all of those, but those are the basics.

Thanks for another reaction to Forestella. Their name is a combination of "forest" and the Latin/Italian word "stella" (= star). So basically their group name means a forest of stars.
This music video is a indeed a masterpiece. The visuals are so beautiful and their voices magical. I like the epicness of the song. This video is part one of a trilogy (acts 1-3). The next part is their music video "Utopia" (acts 4-6). Utopia has some Queen vibes, because the composer is a big fan of Queen. The third part hasn't been released yet.
The text in the video was from the bible (the story of creation and the fall of man after eating the forbidden fruit).
Soprano/countertenor is the high voice and the bass the deep voice.
To me Forestella is the greatest male quartet in the world. I like Home Free but I Love Forestella! ❤

That lowest voice belongs to Ko Woorim and is a basso profundo, the rarest and lowest male classical voice. The higher voices are tenor and in the case of Kang HyungHo (nicknamed PITTA) sometimes a countertenor (higher than a tenor) The man that usually stands 2nd on the right is the group leader and a classically trained lyric tenor ( Cho Mingyu)The man all the way to the right in their regular lineup is Bae Doo Hoon and he's an experienced music theater artist. PITTA was a chemical engineer thru the week and leader of his own rock band on weekends. All 4 came together on a Korean reality TV show, Phantom season 2. The rest as they say, was history. They won the show in 2018 and became Forestella. Luckily for us! Please react to any and ALL their music! Especially my 2 faves, Je Suis Malade ( in French, means I'm Sick) and Hijo de Del Luna. (Spanish for Son of the Moon) That's based on an old legend where a lonely Gypsy woman makes a deal with the Moon to send her a husband. He appears and the lady gives birth to a son. Since the gypsy man is swarthy and the baby is born with silver eyes and very light skin, the man becomes enraged and believes his wife cheated on him. He stands her to death and leaves the male infant in the woods. The Moon mothers the child and legend says when the Moon is full, the baby is content. When it's sickle shaped, the Moon is rocking the babe. Sorry for the long explanation but it helps with the atmosphere. Thanks in advance!😊👍 ❤
