And as a lady of 6 decades, I have to say I THINK THEY ARE ALL AMAZING.
From LtoR as you look at the screen..
KO WOORIM ... BASS PROFUNDO (the lowest and richest Bass voice) ... Operatically trained, he may have finished his studies by now) he is the youngest of the group. Was shy on stage initially (Opera and Cross-over are totally different styles) but he is definitely coming out of his shell, and very funny, he's also great at 'tongue in cheek' mimicry of other artists.
KANG HYUNGHO ... TENOR, ROCK VOCALS and COUNTER-TENOR. He also has his own band and his stage name is PITTA. HH *HAD NO MUSICAL TRAINING AT ALL* before joining the group, now he writes and sings many of his own compositions.
CHO MINGYU ... LYRICAL TENOR (leader of the group) Opera trained and has worked in European Operas. He sings in many different languages and arranges the music and harmonies between the guys, usually letting his 'musical brothers' have more than himself, he is selfless, kind funny and gentle.
BAE DOOHOON ... BARITONE/TENOR, ROCK VOCALS. He has performed in many stage musicals in different languages. A great 'tongue in cheek' mimic of others including his 'musical brothers'

As to Scarborough Fair, it's about a dead soldier, 'talking' to his love and mentions the herbs covering his body and speaking about an impossible list of things for her to do, meaning she has to move on with her life.
Scarborough is on the East coast of England.

This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world!
Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed.
You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us in King of Kings and Unwritten Legend too.
Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible.
Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their new original song Utopia is a must check.
Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia!

They are considered a Korean Crossover group rather than kpop. Fantastic performers, came together as winners of Phantom Singer 2 , a TV competition show.

Forestella were the winners of the Phantom Singers contest. 2 opera singers, 1 rock singer and 1 musical actor. Each with a different voice yet their blend is beautiful. They have so many more covers and originals for you to react to! “Shape of you”, “Time in a bottle”, “Angels”, “Je suis malade”, “Hijo de la Luna”,”Bad Romance”, “Mama” and then their own: “Save our lives”, “For life”, and the ultimate, “Utopia”.
HyungHo was a rock singer! But yeah they're awesome and have yet to release something I don't like, truly golden voices.

Thank you for your reaction. Forestella is phenomenal. My favorite songs of theirs are Champions and Save Our Lives. Champions is a very powerful song and remind me a lot of Dimash's Ogni Pietra / Olympico. It is just as powerful. They have done renditions of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance, Queen's We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You, and Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal and Ed Sheeran's Shape of You. A lot of the songs that they sang on Immortal Songs 2 are in Korean but also worth listening to, like Dead Drunk, The Face I Miss, As I Live and Lazenca Save Us. I have not heard a song of theirs that I did not like.

Check out their “Bohemian Rhapsody” or “Inner Universe.” And Kang Hyung Ho (last name first) when he sings both female and male voices in “Phantom of the Opera.” (He also sings rock music - check out his work under Pitta. Every member of Forestella has a unique voice, and combined they are brilliant. I hope you guys get to react to more of this group! Thanks again!

The guys didn't disappoint you, did they? 🙂 They cover all kinds of songs, from folk songs like this to pop/rock, movie tunes, etc. Even though they have four different voices, their harmony when they sing together is outstanding. I like that they cover such a wide vocal range from bass to countertenor.
Their renditions of "Je suis malade" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" are stunning, but you can't go wrong with any of their performances. They also have their own songs. I recommend their official music video "Save our lives" (it's a visual masterpiece), which is the first part of a trilogy about human life/existence and nature. The second part is "Utopia" (with Queen vibes) and the third part has not been released yet.

I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel singing this. A nonsensical song with the most gorgeous harmony!❤
There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as the messengers of this sad and beautiful story.
Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was it was a tonic recipe to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him any more.
BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in same areas in fact while on my researching for English references.. so it could be just for remembering recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

Forestella isnt an kpop idol group, but they're a crossover group. 2 of them were opera singers, Woorim (bass, the one on the very left) & Mingyu (tenor, the second one from the right), Doohoon is a musical actor (he's on the very right one) and Hyungho (teprano/tenor soprano, he's the second to the left). They sing/cover many songs such as this one u're just reacting to, Bad Romance, Bohemian Rhapsody, Shape Of You, Time In A Bottle etc & change the song into their own style which all of them is an epic rendition i must say. This is a weekly broadcasted Korean TV competion show among Korean singers singing world famous "immortal songs". Forestella gained their fame mainly through this competition show and now becoming themselves "world famous".
I would recommend 'Je suis Malade', 'Bad Romance', 'Shape of you', and 'Time in the Bottle' covered by Forestella. They are just incredible.
Hi~ Welcome to the world of FORESTELLA! For those who do not know about FORESTELLA, I'd love to tell you about this group briefly. They've met at a TV audition program called "Phantom Singer 2" which finds the best male cross-over quartet in South Korea in 2017 for the first time. These 4 guys were included(survived) in the final 12 singers among hundreds of applicants. And, the program PD divided those 12 amazing singers into 3 groups as the singers want. And, guess what? They (FORESTELLA = Forest + Stella(star)) won this contest!!!
When they sing on the stage, they normally set their positions like this. The first one from the left side is Ko Woo-Rim (bass, a grad-schooler in vocal music), the second one is Kang Hyeong-Ho (soprano, ex-research chemist), the third one is Cho Min-Kyu (tenor, M.A. degree in vocal music) and the fourth one is Bae Doo-Hoon (baritone, musical actor) There're many amazing songs they've covered. I wanna recommend "just a few" songs in the below. If you live in outside of S.Korea, some videos might not be seen, though. Stay safe and have a great one, everybody! 😆

BTW Forestella did some Kpop covers too. But you better know the original before hearing whatever they covered. As much as you know the song, would enjoy more! They dare to cover many masterpieces and honored each with grand respect.
Ah, I highly recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel than Mystique live video for Bohemian Rhapsody reaction! KBS version is the very first performed one and you can see their acting in the song better there. After the show on KBS Forestella put the Bohemian Rhapsody into their 2nd album ; Mystique and the video on Universal Music channel was from their album tour. It's so dark to see their performance well..
Their Bohemian Rhapsody shocked me like an accident and I am here and there around to post the info text about Forestella.
About Kpop, even I'm a Korean I wasn't so familiar with it. But I checked many reaction channels to request reaction to Forestella, came to see many reactioners weren't even aware they already listened to Kpop without knowing it was BTS song lol. I bet you already heard it. Just you didn't know whether it was Kpop song..
Anyway Forestella fans (or just me) think looking like an idol group as a compliment like they look fancy and cool. There's some typical image of classical singers (precisely only 2 of them are classical vocalists tho) and Forestella is definitely out of the image.

"Scarborough Fair" is one of their more classically oriented songs. I would also definitely recommend "Hijo de la Luna" (mega hit by the Spanish pop-group Mecano) in this category. (Even ear orgasm guaranteed). However, their musical direction is extremely versatile, the individual timbres, vocal-rages and scills are phenomenal and they combine great creativity and passion. Everything in one group, what more could you want?
The title of your video had me rolling. The fact that you were introduced to FORESTELLA as Kpop. 😂 Thank you for the unintentional laugh. Though I do have to say that I have been to their concert and the way the audience (and I) reacted was not so different from a Kpop concert. 😂 They are highly regarded in S.Korea and their concerts are known for selling out rapidly there. I do hope you have another chance to watch a performance--they are truly masters of their craft.
Well not only that but the singer contest was kind of promoted as a KPOP event with there banners and such so we didn't know. I wouldn't classify them as KPOP after hearing this though.
Scarborough Fair is a traditional English ballad, very popular in the 18th and 19th centuries, perhaps inspired by medieval Scottish ballads.
The song is best known today for Simon & Garfunkel's arrangement of it on their album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme (1966), based on Martin Carthy's version.

I love Forestella ✨ While they are Korean they aren’t actually a K-pop group 😅(they don’t really have much choreo). They are actually a mix of classically trained professional opera singers, a rock singer & a theatre actor, hence they incredible vocals!
Yes, if one absolutely wants to put them in a box, I think K-Crossover would be the closest. But really Forestella are in their own league.

Forestella are not a Kpop group but do sing pop songs. They are more a crossover group that have their own songs and cover all kinds of different music genre. They do cover songs in english, italian, spanish, french and of course Korean. You just have to listen/react to theis songs/covers to realize how phenomenal they are. No exaggeration at all.
Scarborough Fair is an Old English Folk Song, about a sailor who dies far away from home, and with his last breath asks his love to make a shroud for him (to accept his death). 😢 You may like "Time in a Bottle", or "Bad Romance". My favourite by Forestella is "Je suis malade" and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Have you seen Chinese singer Hua Chenyu? Try "Nunchucks" for a sample of some of what he can do. Have you seen Dimash, or Diana Ankudinova, or Zhou Shen. All spectacular
