Look at this legend!!! 35 years old, had severe injuries, and winning back-to-back tournaments - the Australian Open and now an ATP500. Some people said he couldn’t play anymore and should retire, but he keeps surprising and proving them wrong! He’s hungry, focused, and going to new levels. He’s unbelievable. I'm not gonna get into GOAT debate.
But this guy was on crutches a few months ago, thinking about retirement.
He comes back, wins the first tournament of the year, wins the record breaking slam AO, wins a third consecutive tournament (ATP500), not only beating the current world nº1 and best player of the world in the moment (Medvedev) but also winning 5 straight sets against him.
If this wasn't enough, he's got the best start of an already stellar career at 35 years old. (15-0)
I don't care who the GOAT is, but Rafa Nadal is a living legend that we're blessed to live in the same era and the role model any parents would wish for their kids.
    Can't wait for Roland Garros.

Amazing Rafa the Great! 3 tournament titles in 2022 already and leading the Race to Turin! He’s a smarter player than he has ever been. With 91 titles he’s 3 short of tying Ivan Lendl for third place all-time. With another Masters win at Indian Wells he can tie Novak for first place. His 83.31% all-time winning percentage is tops in the history of men’s tennis in the Open Era.

Many congratulations to Rafa on another great title, but I’d like to show some appreciation for Norrie. Two years ago he was virtually nowhere not even top 70 but it is credit to his ridiculously good work ethic and rate that he has come to this point. Although he lost I am extremely impressed with how Norrie held up in this match against Prime Rafa 3.0. Two years ago it would have been 1 and 1. From what I’ve seen this year, except Australia but that was just bad luck and little bit of long Covid, it’s only a matter of time before Norrie is top 10 and he absolutely deserves that. This year he is much more proactive and aggressive with his game as well as consistent and it showed today and against Tsitsipas. Perhaps I might even dare to say, since his IW points don’t drop until late in the year, that Norrie will he top 10 after Miami? (Sinner and Hurkacz defending final and title in Miami)

Well he has no real competition yet. No Roger and no Novak (yet), no Thiem, no Wawrinka ( Although I doubt he'll be able to compete at his best again). Why are we surprised? We've known all along that the next gen is not as good as R, R and N. Medvedev is close but not completely there yet. Yes, it is impressive but not surprising. Yes he was injured but now he is fit and you don't forget how to play tennis after 6 months, in fact it makes you hungrier and allows you to be more appreciative to still be able to do what you love, which allows you to enjoy it more and so your confidence grows. Roger did it in 2017 but at least he faced one of the other GOATS. The way he plays and mixes it up, the dropshots, the powerful forehands, etc, impress me way more than his age and beating the players he has faced so far this season. Only Medvedev was a real threat to be honest, in terms of ranking.

At the same time I think he hasn't been tested a lot apart from Medvedev and he nearly lost against Shapovalov. All I am saying is that Nadal is not enormously better than he used to be. He has always been incredibly hard to beat and as long as he is fit and motivated, that will stay like that. I want Novak , Rafa, Roger, Daniil, Dominic, Stefanos, Sacha and a few others all to compete at the same tournaments. I hate that last year Novak was called the GOAT by every Tom Dick and Harry and he could have won the Golden slam. He almost did and nobody talked about Rafa and Roger. What a performance! Congrats to Rafa👍🍺🇩🇰
I don’t care about being a goat or not. I am just enjoying beautiful tennis and admiring a great come back from a very humble sportsman.
All fights about being the best is out of line.
Chill down and enjoy tennis when it’s best! That’s what it’s all about!

Matador is hungry and this isn’t even clay season yet……I guess he didn’t take his losses against Rublev and Djokovic kindly…His backhand was bombarded by both and he came back with an improved and lethal backhand…..2022 just got lot more interesting….

At this point when I hear people say Djokovic is better than Nadal I just giggle inside and feel sorry for them. If Djocovid had only had half the number of injuries Nadal has had he wouldn't even have 15 slams. Nadal is the GOAT despite having all those injuries. 💪🏻💪🏻

Novak had breathing problems in his early stages of career before 2011.so please don't say stupid things like this.

Rafa as good as I have ever seen him, a lot of people seem to be thinking that his level has dropped since his "prime".
Personally i think he has evolved his game style and become more efficient than ever before. A bit more like Federer perhaps, he was very efficient and always tried to end points ASAP.

Rafa is not a person because a person can have answers. Rafa is a rare phenomenon - a wondrous mystery of humanity, humility and heart that transcends surgeries, definitions, goals, records. Remember again and again that Rafa has played the least number of Grand Slams compared to his peers, most number of injuries and zero rackets smashed. There's no answer. ❤️😇🙏
