- JHS Volture and their new Legends of Fuzz pedals are a pretty good time. Today we're going to think outside the box with vintage fuzz sounds.

OK. Will we all have those songs put in a compilation? They are all great! It really doesn't matter that each one has less than 1 minute duration, I'd surely buy it
You're in luck! They have the demo music on bandcamp!
Thanks so much! It’s up on my bandcamp now to download!
@@emilyharpist and Bandcamp now does playlists which has been llllloooooonnnnnggg overdue.
Emilyharpist.bandcamp . com !
@@emilyharpist Now this is epic
I appreciate the drummers choice of mallets.
He’s the best!
and sheets
Joe always has the perfect drumming! As a drummer, I really appreciate the covered-drum-head sound
He really does play so so well! I love everything he writes haha
The mallets were a nice touch on this one!
Joe is epic AF.
You're all too kind. 💖
The second one was giving me some "Bela Lugosi's Dead" vibes at the beginning! beautiful sounds all around.
OMG the Kay fuzz, wah and tremolo were my 1st effects padals back in the 70s
That’s amazing! Wow. I almost got an original Kay Fuzz to use in this video, but there wasn’t enough time for it to ship!
Super cool playing! Love those tracks with drummer Joe!! Would love them even more if Joe had a Tea to Recommend...
@The Brewers Alright, I’ll cave. I drink Uncle Lee’s Organic Green Tea 🍵.. daily. It’s really smooth even if you steep your tea too long due to distractions, etc. Great tea without the bitterness, and affordable, and the bag doesn’t tear easy. (If you’re into that strong thing, that’s cool too). I like coffee strong tho.
But for another interesting brewing tea rec…. I got a sick Darjeeling ☕️ blend out of a local place. It’s strong as an ox but it’s awesome.
(If you wanna really know more on the Darjeeling, hit me up on Em’s discord)
Thank you 🥰 for digging the tracks 💕
@@lexhitreset You are Awesome! Thank you for sharing your EPIC Tea Recommendation!

Oh my god this is a thing?! My SD-1 started to run out of battery while I was playing and I thought "I wanna get that sound whenever i want" im so glad it exists !
You’re not alone, I missed when my SD-1 or 70’s TS would be almost dead on battery but maxed on gain. Such a sweet short lived sound ✨
@@lexhitreset it's such an interesting sound too, almost like distorted sounding synth!
Check out Voodoo lab power supply 2 I have one it's great
The Boss Tone you showed @2:45 was the very first pedal I ever owned and yes I'm that old. I wish I still had it considering it originally sold for around $10.00 and now goes for about $400.00! Great video as usual, Emily.
Wow! That’s incredible, I wish I got to try one of the original ones!
@@emilyharpist If memory serves me it was OK, it went well with my cheap Kay guitar but it was cheap compared to the pedal fuzz's available back then.
It’s a shame so many people don’t understand the art you make.
What a stooky video as usual, but I cannot help feeling that it is a lil bit *fuzz*y on my end. Lol in all seriousness love the music
Stooky!!!! Thanks so much ❤️
@@emilyharpist What can I say except...
Your Welcome!
Ok I gotta pick one of those up because I absolutely love how a DS-1 sounds with a mostly drained battery but it’s just not convenient so I’d love to have one of these
Oh man that expression ramper is sick
Russ has friends! I knew it!
There’s no way!
As a friend of Russ, I confirm this. 🫡
The Berkley/Light Pedal demo track had me feeling all kinds of ways, please turn that into a full track if you haven't already!
Made for a wonderful ambient/soundscape track. Would love to hear more of that.
It's always great to hear your creative applications for equipment. The music is sweet, too🤘
Thanks so much!
We loves a good expression pedal input, there are just so many ways to use 'em. You can even get Eurorack modules to convert CV to expression pedal voltages!
😯
The one with the DFAM makes me feel like I'm exploring a weird bug dungeon in Hollow Knight.
This was a pretty sweet way to start off my Monday morning...
I'm still a bit fuzzy just waking up.
Great demo tunes 🤘
Be good to you! 🤍💛
Absolutely dope sounds! Love it!
It's amazing how much Emily can emulate a guitar using her electric harp and some fuzz. If I heard this song without knowing what the instruments were or who was playing them, I would never have guessed I was listening to a harp.
You could make a dope drone doom album with that fuzz sound!
More of this!
That first jam sounded like Gary Numan in the late 1970's. Excellent stuff.
That instant recogniton that shows how old you are ;-)
@Simon Park,
OMG! Gary Numan__I had his 1st album, my kids were 2 & 3 yrs old and used to bug me to play it often! That, Blondie, and Sesame Street Disco! 😱😛😹😹😹
Supah! 💖🙌😺
okay this like goes insanely hard what the heck
😳
💪😤👍 flexin those chops!
You all are really good at this
YES! I’ve been jonesing for some fuzz!
Hahaha same!
My first pedal? A Foxx Wa Machine. Red fuzz covering and the input/outputs are left/right, respectively. Sounded amazing.
I have no idea how you get just sheer mischief into your videos and if you didn't smile so much, perhaps I wouldn't smile so much too!
Those jams are amazing
Thanks!
That fuzz sounds amazing on your harp.
JHS, more like Hey That's Really Cool That You Achieved So Many Great Sounds In A Saturated Category And Brought The Fun Of Expression Control To A Modern Durable Platform... HS
Lmaooo
Nailed it. 👍
you guys havent slowed down at all on coming up with great sounds / songs !
the fact that you play on a harp makes me appreciate the pedals more it gives me a second point of information and I'm down for that as someone who plays way too many instruments. thanks for the videos
The synth jam at the end was so good, making me wish I had one
A perfect tone for the next Blade Runner soundtrack.
Love it!
I really liked that first song, all of them were great but that first one was awesome! Interesting pedals/units too!
Also... Why did you sniff the saltshaker one? Did it have a "new pedal smell", or were you expecting it to smell like salt because of its name?
You should so have an album! The sounds you get are incredible. I was kind of hoping you'd force Nick and Addison from JHS to join a band with you. (Joshua could recite poetry as your lyrics!) But you could definitely throw in that modular synth too.
@Nathan E. Milos,
Oooo__reciting poetry along with the music, that would be like the 'beatniks' with the bongos in the coffee houses! 😱
'Cool, man'! 💖🙌😺
I think she's got some stuff on Bandcamp, or somewhere like that. And I found her on Pandora once.
She's on Spotify too
I am such a fan of your music. Thank you for wonderfully stretching the boundaries
Sounds amazing
Thanks!
No U 😁
*HE'LL YE'AH* 🤘🫨🤘 This was hecking EPIC. Great job, phellas™! I love those vintage fuzz tones, so warm and delicious 😌👌❤️🔥
All of these tracks are straight sick fire. Subtle Distortiony Fuzz Goodness.😎👍✨
Joe killing it on the drums as always!! 🙌
Thanks🫡💕

Love your Vintage Fuzzy Farts! 🎉 but what’s a chick patty? 🧂 🐔
It’s a vegetarian fake chicken burger patty!
The Mary-k sounds wonderful
Ayyyye lets go new video >:3
Dying battery farts are sometimes the best kind. So much fuzz!
I wonder what the Volture would sound like with the Fart pedal?
I need to try this
YESSSSS!!! I've got these in to demo too 🤘🏼
That last song would make a badass game soundtrack.
1:55
That beat by Joe reminds me of a beautiful song by a Spanish band: Havalina - Norte
Definitely worth a listen!
I’ll check it out!
Zeta, I checked that track out, sounds so rad. Thanks for the recommendation.
You so should score a video game! I loved the Light Pedal and Berkeley combo and would be amazing for a mystery or dark themed RPG game.
5:17 sounds like Metroid soundtrack. Super cool!
Yes!! 🙌 Metroid ftw
Great as always!! 🤟
Love the song, very early 80's John Carpenter/Alan Howarth! 👍
@jerriecan,
I was thinking, "Halloween"! 😛 💖🙌😺
Life is nothing but a coincidence. Yesterday I went through my pedals I don't really use much anymore and I plugged in my old Tube Screamer which was a staple for me for a long time. The battery was almost dead but still working. I'm playing and thinking "man, why did I stop using this? It sounds great" and then about twenty minutes later the sound started oscillating in a cool kind of weird way for a minute or so and then the battery died. So I took a break, got some tea, plugged it into an AC adaptor and started playing again and thinking "did it sound better when the battery was low? I think it did! Or maybe it didn't. It has more gain, I'll back it off! It sounds better! Maybe it doesn't." etc, etc. Guitar players aren lunatics, I'm living proof of that.
When Russ threw the package onto your plate 😂
Wow I wish some of this shows up on the second channel
If only!
Keep dreaming!!!!!
*YES PLEASE*
👁️🫦👁️✨
I now use Instagram to tell me when Emily does something awesome. 🙏
What is that semi-modular synth? Also,
It’s the Mother 32 and DFAM from Moog!
woof that is a spendy combo! probably not actually in relation to other semi mods. I'm kind of getting into modular, but I think I'd better start with like the arturia microfreak.
That third song sounds like something used in a horror movie. That one was my favorite but I liked all three!
When the Doom music turns to Dasies! I want this soundtrack in my audiophiles!
Wooo! Glad the Salt Shaker arrived 😂
"you dont have any friends" THAT SENT ME LMAOOOOOO but I will have you know that everyone in the Discord loves Russ.
lmfaooo he has some!
the last one had a real synthwave feel to it. but that was probably the synth more than the fuzz.
Great stuff.
The Mary K and your expression/wah bar on your other Harp is that possible?
More please.
Sheit foool, your channel is so entertaining. It's like.., my favorite
3:28 You may not like it, but this is what high performance pedal footwear looks like.
That last bit really reminded me of the Resident Evil theme by Marylin Manson.
Believe it or not that IS intended as a compliment.
First a whoppie joonie and now a salt shaker. What's next, the JHS gabbagool?
JHS ; _writes that down_
Fuzz on Harp sounds amazing!!
This first song is really amazing !
what a twist! love it. fuggin twent wezznor vibes ova here
The DFAM and M32 parts of the last song sound a lot like what you'd hear in an American Horror Story title sequence
sounds dope!
More synth stuff, more synth stuff! I just got a Nunomo Qun Mk2.
Agreed. It was amazing.
"You don't have any friends!" Damn, roasted! 🔥🔥🔥
that modular synth drum beat really makes me think about earthbound drums
Hey Emily Hopkins and Russ! Imagine the JHS spice rack! Ride ride ride!
I'd hang that on my wall! Ride Ride Ride!
I ain’t even know they made harps like this 🔥🔥🔥 it sounds amazing
I'm never going to think of fuzz any other way than sounding farty from now on. Lol thanks for that.
As a guitar player I really love your videos emily. I honestly never thought I'd be interested in harp, but here I am.
Sounds like a modern take on an eighties tune!
That opening track is awesome. That lead is bugging me as it reminds me of something.
Sounds good and fuzzy 🙂
That's great if they can copy the same circuits. Makes me miss Radio Shack.
I could totally hear Trent Reznor (@NIN) singing over that last track ... time for a collab! 😎
I thought those fuzz pedals sounded great on your jams. Reminds me of 80's post punk stuff. Do a lot of drugs, turn out the lights and turn on a strobe light while jamming to the black angst.
I'm imagining a harp and string collab with Peter Pringle on some Sumerian lo-fi hits from the 3000s. As in 3000 BC.
I'm getting some serious Puscifer vibes from the first track
Black pepper, blueberry, pistachio ice cream, yellow mustard, and Heinz 57 Sauce ... yeah, that's a cool sweater. 😎
Superb!
Heck, I get that sound right outta the box from my Behringer fuzz pedal *cough*.
Love this!!!!
Same tbh
those drums are sooooo siiiiiick
So fking artsy =D Also I love those shoes. They look mega comfy =)
My first pedal was Hologram Electronics: Microcosm.
I know, I'm not old at all. 😭😭
"you don't have any friends!" *GTA wasted sound plays*
I love how you sniffed it XD
Synth piece..... Soundtrack to a movie about chasing Vampires that drive import tuner cars and hang out n nightclubs.
The last snippet sound like something I'd play at a goth club.
I got My Bloody Valentine vibes once you added Joe and Space Bender. Have you named your Shugazi band? Unrelated, what brand is your adult sippy cup?
Slipper game is strong. #nofeetpics
