"Hey, K, have you ever flashy-thinged me?" "No." Lol. We had no idea how far back K started flashy-thinging J.
And at the beginning of the movie he did, lol
K could have been flashed and forgot that he flashed J. Also I'm sure saying "I flashed you as a kid." just comes across wrong. No matter what job.
That's funny !!!
Multiple times in the movie
😂
So that's why K wanted to take J as his partner.. damn this scene hits hard
Broke my heart to realize this was K doing a job he couldn't leave for years looking after the son of the man that saved K's life from Boris
It was at this moment... j knew.... k really was a sappy guy deep down.
So technically K adopted J as his son
@@Sevan_UP maybe
probably even for will Smiths real life
The fact that K realized that J travelled through time to save him only to lose J's father in the process made him really grumpy and serious all the time until he met J and tried to make up for everything J has to do for him.
His father would have died anyways, with J or not
@@Nico-711 Yeah, because after J's father was killed, K arrested Boris.
@@ferolcat2009the cycle never reset because Boris was killed by K in the past making it a new timeline meaning K probably remembers that J went back in time
Not that I would openly tell Jay that he remembers anyway
nooo imcryinggg
This was actually a great ending as it came full circle from the first one. Throughout J's life, K was always there looking after him. He was dead set on J being his partner when he was put up against actual Marines and Air Force when he was just NYPD lol. But I got a nice chuckle when I remembered in the first one where J kept on asking K if he ever 'flashy thingy'd' him before lmao
Regarding the military guys in the first one, I always liked the theory that MiB always brought in people like that when testing new recruits. The whole purpose of that session was to test J. Those other guys were just props to put the recruit in a weird environment and to see how they react when out of place, and to see if they also become kissasses
@@shehranazim4784 Yea I like that.. I think that is true. The military people were like the control of the test to see if J was able to think outside the box and not follow the norm or what's expected.
Reason he got chosen by K, it's because J could see more than what it was in plain sight, remember what he said about the silhouettes of aliens? That they were doing other activities and they weren't dangerous, while the strange little girl with an advanced book was around there, so she was suspicious. He also chased a very fast alien, too, so he had skill, deduction and passion despite of not having a career that required a long and exhaustive training.
That story is more interesting that J getting in MIB, just because of nepotism.
@@shehranazim4784 Problem with some fan theories, it's that they ignore what it was presented in the story and then they go their own way like it was just fanfiction. If you remember, those men in uniform were neuralized after the test, of course, you can say they only did that to pretend something, but, no, J didn't even notice that happened.
That scene just tells you how MIB recruit people and they consider high skill and preparation, but, in the case of J, he had that skill, he could see what the others didn't, "what a little girl doing in that dangerous neighbor with a very advanced book", he also told the other aliens may just exercising or doing something non-threatening, what we saw they do later in the film.
He also had devotion and passion, despite of only being a police officer, where the training to become one it's softer and short, this movie just rehashed that, it's a touching and nice ending, certainly, but, that made it look like J actually got in MIB, because he had a contact inside the organization and that was it.
@@stanleyshady9465 In the 1st one they said they don't depend on anyone, those military and marines were there for the test, too, the only connection you can make with this plot that, of course, was written later only to make a new movie, it's that K wanted only J to join MIB and this 3rd movie could explain why.
Well no wonder Agent K became crumpy and cynical about everything. He used to have a positive attitude, until he watched a civilian die on a mission then he had to erase the memory of the incident from the little kid.
James' dad was a military officer lol

For anyone that is confused about the continuity, my theory is that Griffins line "where there is death, there will always be death" implies that certain events in time are meant to happen no matter how much you change in the past. In other words, in the original timeline before J and Borris traveled back in time, J's father still died which and it inspired K to look after him until he was old enough to join MIB. Just like in this scene.
Mostly yes, it more says that "a death" is a fixed point in time meaning either J's father died here or K died here in the alternate timeline. Either way someone had to die in order to fulfill that fixed point.
@@Milliardo__Peacecraft And that is a wierd moment tbh, causes Boris died there too, yet he wasn't ment to. Well, I guess it's something more like "some events need to happen to let other events happen" you know, most certainly James would've not become Agent J if he's father was still alive.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow tought us that there are fixed points in history that you are not allowed to change and that the events must happen.

I like to think that J is actually too far away to hear what's being said, but he doesn't lose track of the conversation because he remembers it instead (regains it rather).
Retention is the apt word.
There's also a good chance that he remembers that conversation from his dreams which he gets once in a while possibly
Is it? @@jobanjotsingh1905
Yeah, like the nostalgic situation made him remember.
The saddest thing in this movie is that J finally finds out about why his father wasn't there in his life

The neuralyzer is a good thing to circle back to. In the first movie J asks K if he ever flashy-thingied him to which he doesn't answer. Personally, I pretty much took it as a thing for comedic effect due to how K is. Then this happens and it's like, oh it's actually for a sad reason.
he did flashy thing him before that scene in the first movie.
But, J didn't even know his father died, before he got neuralized,
so, that'd not be the case.
K actually answers him twice "Did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No." "I'm not playing, did you ever flashy-thing me?" "No."

the thing that always gets me is that IMMEDIATE response by K when he hears little James calling out.
Split second reaction of immediately knowing what he was gonna have to do.

4:51 His "I wish I could" - Griffin got him to cooperate by showing him the future - J growing up, the two being successful together - but also him dying. He's saying that because he already knows he's only got no time left.
It’s also why he actually is looking at the door before the alien begins to open it
I've never understood why this installment of the trilogy got no love.
I am right with you I thought it was good
I just had a 😳 moment. I coult even remember there was a third movie.
Eh, many people, including myself, consider it to be better than the second movie. And it is. The first is still the best, but the third is still pretty good. The second one used to be the worst one, until MiB International came out. Now there's a forgettable MiB movie.
This one is still the second best in the franchise, though. Might not have gotten the recognition of the others, but it stands up there with them easily.
I remember everyone saying this was a pretty good movie. It's my favorite from the MIB franchise.
@@Geral454 I remember it got pretty good reception at the time too. It came out a few weeks after the first Avengers film though, which at the time was a box office phenomenon. Probably explains why not a lot of people talked about this one.
I personally love MiB 3 because it provides a really emotional and cathartic closure to J’s story by showing him why K is the way he is-which happens to be part of J’s formation as well.

You don't always need to use de-aging someone to put in a movie. You just need a really good actor to (with close to the same facial features) give top notch performance.
yeah but that's not always available
In this movie that works because in the previous ones we never saw K in his youth. De-aging is necessary when you need actors that grew older playing their roles to look like they used to decades ago in their early performances.
@@Lambda_Ovine I agree, a good example is Mark Hamill. Sebastian Stan would be a great choice as a young Like but I'd rather have Hamill de aged
@@JojoBusta I think a better example is Ewan McGregor.
I also think it was for comedic purposes to. Most movies (especially bio movies) won’t use teenagers to represent the person when they are younger, they will usually use the adult actor who in real life is typically in their early to mid 30s. The scene where he was like “How old are you?” And k replies “29” I always took that as making fun of the movie cliché of actors being much older then the person they are portraying.
Josh Brolin's impersonation of Tommy Lee Jones is spectacular. He got the mannerisms down perfectly. He was screwed out of an Oscar for this performance.
Oscar Nom* I agree he’s perfect in this, but 2012 had deserving guys too, was a good year in film
I genuinely thought this was Tommy Lee Jones de aged damn they look so similar
even his voice sounds like it
Brolin pulled it off well. He was 44 at the time playing a 29 year old K. J noticed it by telling he's got some city miles on him.
It's OK. Goonies never say die.
How K reacts when he hears "Daddy! Daddy!" This is the best MIB movie in my opinion. Not trying to convince anyone or the universe.
How dare you have your own wonderful opinion and enjoyment of a movie?
This ending brings me to tears every time it's pretty much brings the whole three movies full circle and knowing that K been watching over Jay his whole life and him picking him wasn't random.
And it also shows that the reason he was blunt throughout the series compared to his youth was the responsibility and guilt of Jay's father's death. This is also a sad tragedy, but K's line "it's been my privilege" at the end of the movie shows that the two main characters were eventually saved, overcame tragedy, and ended with a beautiful ending with a noble spirit for each other.
Don’t know why they made MIB International. This was the perfect ending. It brought everything full circle. I always get teary eyed at this part just life Griffin

I was so dead set in not watching this movie because I believed all the critics saying it was terrible. But when I watched it with my husband a few weeks ago I realized how much of an knumbskull I was. Seeing this part made me cry and I didn't catch that it was Jay's dad until I remembered that Jay's last name was Edwards. But then he lost his dad, and he never knew about it because it would be hard for Jay to be the man he became in the first film. I bawled like a baby at this part when I watched it. It even made my husband cry and it's hard to make that man cry at anything.
It was just good. I think no one expected this ending.
He really did take care of his best pal.....his son. He made him into a true hero like his father.
"Where's my dad?" I felt so bad for little James.
His dad comes back as luke cage
J never knew the truth about what happened to his dad until going back to the past to which he witnessed unexpectedly before going back to the present.
He uhh he went to go do something very special. And he wanted me to stay here and take care of his best pal!
My heart broke.
We was on stage slapping someone
Makes sense why K was touchy when J was talking about his father not being there as a kid.
“Don’t bad mouth your old man”
You know watching Men in black 1-2, K would've fired J at some point, but this scene made so much more sense now as to why K kept J around all this time. Bcus he was about the only thing thats closest to a son that K will ever have. I just really appreciate the heart that K has to take J in as his son that lost his biological father.
J - "Hey K, did you ever use the flashy thing on me?"
K - "No. I would not."

Me everytime: OKAY I'M GOING TO WATCH WITHOUT CRYING THIS TIME.
This really hints to k basically always looking after j right up until him inviting him to MiB even if just for the sake of of j father... best story of all MiB movies
I remember seeing this in theaters and not being ready to be brought to tears by a men in black movie. They ended this trilogy perfectly
Hope you’re doing good and staying safe. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤
Boris could totally have thrown him way off the structure but chose to throw him 4 feet away onto the structure
Then the rest of the movie couldn't have happened 😁
Fk... the ending hits me evertime😢
An unexpected come-full-circle moment that explain why J is so good at what he does, having experience alien since being a child.
Also, love how the astronauts chose to turn a blind eye
Damn it just hit me that K changed because he low key became a parent at that point. Took me becoming a parent to understand. Shit changes you forever
なぜJが父親の記憶を無くしてしまったのかここで明かされるこのシーンは涙無しでは見られない。
Having Josh Brolin play a young K was absolutely brilliant casting. Even Jones said so.
Anyone else get a little teary-eyed at this scene?
Indeed
Every time
A lot teary-eyed.
Shutup.
I'm not crying, you are.
*sniff*
Definitely not me
For a movie that was an action comedy, I cried so hard at the part. It was so sad, but such a touching moment between K and little J.
Hope you’re doing good and staying safe. Sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤
This makes my cry still 😢
Everything makes sense. Agent K knew everything about agent J. He knew his father.
After all these years this scene still gives me the chills
I didn't need MIB international this was a perfectly fine ending to the franchise
K felt ashamed he could not tell him the truth and instead erased his memory
What would be more awesome is J's father is also joining the final battle, going full support(but with regular gun) and end with the exact same scene . That'll add more tears
