For the second roll I got a total of 24 dc why is that when it’s suppose to be 20
Sorry for the delay. Yes you should only have 20
You probably added two sets of dc around the slip stitch. Remove them.

Would this work with cotton yarn
Of course it will work. Try it out and let me know. As long as it’s a 4 weight yarn, I recommend keeping the 4.5mm hook.

How many stitches in the third row. Because you have done so fast .

Hi. I have made two squares and neither of them have a side that has more than 16 double crochet. I made sure not to skip a stitch after corners during the 4th round and I’ve triple checked my work. What step is supposed to make one side have 17 stitches? I don’t know what I’ve done wrong
Hey! The side where you slip stitch to close there should be a dc before the sl st and after and it’s during the row where you’re adding a dc in that secret stitch by the corner. I hope that makes sense.

I think I did something wrong I’m not able to find the 17 chain for the single crochet on the border. Has this happened to anyone else, and does it matter??
It’s really for your longest side, it doesn’t have to be 17 stitches.
Something is a little different about his hat. Your square is in the front. Look like his is split more one on each side of front. Do I turn it a little. Or add another row to make a middle?
Hey! If you turn it a bit it will be identical. I just like wearing it with a square in the center.🙂

Hello!!! How did you do the brim?
I did the brim in single crochets 2 sc tog where the squares meet. I increased every 6th stitch, every 8th stitch, and every 10th stitch with one round of no increase in between. Full tutorial is coming soon if you didn’t follow that.
