The XA2 has way too much blue. It needs adjusted in the settings or in post. The iphone had spot on color but noticed at times some details looked blurry and the Sony was super sharp. Final conclusion it sure is nice to have options!
i thought i was the only one its the stock camera image processing im using gcam even i can only use few features but it gives the natural kinda dull colors but still acceptable

Back and forth between the two , and knowing how much an Iphone costs compared to the XA2 makes the Sony XA2 look most impressive , one thing that stood out to me , the iphone seems to have more red in the images often , but it seemed even more noticable when some of the sky shots actually looked to have tinge of violet in them . Good comparison sir , and not a criticism , but just to let you know , at times the back ground music seemed way loud . cheers .

Totally agree, Love Sony and always have since my C4. I do find it a smidge hard to concentrate though because the Everyday Dad is giving me all the feels. You better work that mono-pod!
The editing is splendid. You've earned a new subscriber. Have you checked the XA2's settings as it looks too cold. The colours on iPhone looks great, the details and stabilisation on XA2 looks great. So it's a tie for me.
I am currently an Apple user and Ive recently decided to switch to the XA2, when the time comes of course...I’ve had too many problems in the past and now with Apple and I thought I’d give it Sony a try seen as my bf has the L2 and I like that phone but I though I’d get something a little more newer, the down side to this phone is the camera colours and the audio but if your not a photographer then it’s a great low budget phone, when I get it I guess I’ll edit this and say how it is and stuff.
The colors are easily fixed, for some reason when I set it to auto it messed with the white balance, but if you can manually set the white balance this is an awesome camera.
Yeah something went wonky with my main camera for this video, im working through it. I think it looks close which is weird for a mirrorless camera to come close to a phone 🤔
I need to know more about the Audio of both phones because not all phones with two microphones record in Stereo and I will say this from my testing today: The XA2 Ultra records in Stereo but the XA1 Ultra does not.
I don’t know if it’s RUclips or but some major compression with the iPhone video. And the gimbal really does work against the iPhone. Colors were a little better with the iPhone over the Sony. Inside the iPhone did better imo. Sharpness the Sony did really well. I’m going to put this gimbal through its paces once I get it. I’m not going to carry it around if it is not going to do what I need it to do. In your video it’s definitely better than the on board stabilization but the jumpy video at times does get in the video. Thanks again for the video! Great vid dude for me personally iPhone 7 Plus won but considering the price range... Although XA2 has lower price the Ultra variant has the same back shooter and also it is 2 years ''younger'' then iP7+ but still that is a flagship phone still i think in some ways XA2 was better
they were both really good but i think the iphone did the best especially because the colors were warmer and the sony was slightly over exposed in the extreme light but i'd be happy with either great vid btw
From where do you know it have OIS ? From what I know SteadyShoot is EIS and works only when recording videos. I have the phone and if I make even the smalest "shake" while taking a phone is get blurry. Also the colors seem way too blue on your unit. Mine is not even close to that. If you want I can upload a 4k recording with it.
Awesome comparison vid. There’s a weird blue tint to the Sony on the swing shot but after that it’s quite similar in quality iPhones edge Sony on that one but not by much. I’d be interested to see how Sony pair up with the accessories and peripherals like gimbal, drone apps mainly Dji. I don’t mind buying a dedicated device just for the gimbal and drone apps that’s more current than my 6+. My current phone is the iPhone X but it’s a PITA, for some reasons I always manage to get a call in the middle of shooting a vid
That’s exactly why I got the xa2. Yeah I had it in auto mode for the shoot but I bet if I’d manually white balanced it the picture would have been fine 👍
Did you have it in auto the whole time? Because you can set the white balance to look much more natural. Set it to sunny and it will look so much better than auto sometimes. A lot of the time the auto white balance is too cool.
Hmm. You compared the regular Sony Xperia XA2 to an iPhone 7 PLUS. Would've made more sense to use an XA2 ULTRA as it is the plus version of the XA2 and it has dual selfie cameras to even out against the iP7+ dual back cameras. Anyways, I'm just biased because I'm watching this on my AMAZING Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra. Lol

I prefer the colors on the iPhone. The colors on the Sony appeared somewhat washed out. However, unless one is using the phone for professional photography, the Sony would be the smarter purchase due to its price and quality. Because at the end of the day, a "phone's" main purpose is to communicate via (calls/texts) Only those who are into photography should use a professional camera strictly for video and pictures and, if I may add, by using a professional camera as an alternative for photography, they won't end up saturating the memory on their communication device with pictures and videos.
but xperia xa2 ultra is only 367ppi at 6" display at 1920x1080 while iphone 6 plus is 401ppi at 5.5" display at 1920x1080. Meaning the color density is very low compared to iphones. no matter how bright it gets.

Sony is strong when it comes to Sound Quality 🔊 & Display in Smartphones. I have Sony xperia because the sound quality is very impressive I don't care about the camera. Plus the display is amazing.
If you use the gimbal and the phone has stabilization on it will wobble. If you can turn off stabilization on the phone and then use the gimbal it will be smoother, just like a dslr.

For some reason the auto mode had the white balance off. You could easily change this in the manual settings, but for the video I wanted it to be on full auto. 👍

(That selfie cam is beautiful) bought a LG G6+ for the camera only to find out the front cam was mediocre. (Wide angle rocks but neither back camera is super sharp) so a modern phone with decent specs, and a not 18:9 ratio (I dislike, most apps aren't made for) and great camera. And nfc. Sold!

I have xa2 , battery lasts longer x2, camera works great only in in good lighting , if it dark or macro shooting it's bad quality.
