Finally a song I can relate to! I would also really like to go home. You know that feeling, when you sign up for something that sounds like It'll be great and you're like nope take me back. Anyways sorry for the weird middle of the week post, I've been pretty tired and I wanted to make this as good as possible. I hope you guys enjoy the video edit! I've been getting a bit lazy in them recently, so I wanted to take the time to do something a bit more complex. Enjoy~

Great cover, you match Aqua’s voice very well. Though I would try and add a pinch of reverb on the vocal track. Like 1 or 2 on the dial in a simple mixer, just to give it that extra pop.

Not sure if it was done on purpose, but gave a completely different mood and feel to the song.. if it was unintentional, well...meh
tbh I think that comes to two things 1) i have a pretty different voice from the original singers 2) I think the song itself is happier than my personal take on it. When I wrote those lyrics I was a lot more bitter than bitter sweet, which definitely shows. Anyways this was a fun song to do, and tbh my voice doesn't match most songs so I've decided over time I'm just not going to get hung up on being close to the original. There are plenty of people who you can check out who take the stick with the original as much as possible approach to doing covers but it's just not really for me... Anyways I hope that explains things, and I hope I find a version of this song that you like even if it's from someone else

How funny, when I heard first heard this song in the anime, I was surprised that it had the exact same chord progression as a song I wrote several years ago. When I heard the lyrics though, I was even more surprised, because the content was basically the same also! What a cool coincidence!
And great job on the arrangement! I do some arranging of Japanese songs myself, although I have to rely on whatever rough translations I can find, as I don't know the language.
I wondered why you changed out "I'll still make it in time for dinner" for "I know I can make it there, just before sunrise". At first I thought it was because the sun had already gone down, but if it was winter or at least fall, and they ate dinner late, like at seven thirty or eight, it would be dark for a while before dinner was served. Also, he/she could have just wandered about after leaving, and could have actually been within a twenty or thirty minute's run of home by sunset.
Regardless, it's a great translation, and thanks for giving the lyrics in copy/paste-able format too! I was going to learn this song in Japanese and English, so this is a great help!

I think you’re confusing country for folk... they’re different styles.
Folk, not country. In honesty, both songs are fairly generic. This doesn't make them bad; there are reasons that "generic" sounds become that.

the song is a like a nursery song, should have made it a little bit childish,, Ehhh don't know how to explain my point, there were some places where it felt to be very not much like childrens song.

no, sorry you elevate your voice unnecesarily. Try to avoid high tone on your voice. The song is a mellow and calm tune, quite made up for resting.
