    FYI: I don't ever reboot the UDMP, I just go to Unifi OS -> Applications and then stop and start talk - then wait a few mins and then outbound works. Just updated to talk 3.2.2 and still have to swap PCMU to PCMA (6 replacements).

      Ah that’s useful to know about the talk restart! Yep no sign of them making it UK friendly 😫
      Thanks for watching 🙏

    Could you use the unifi talk as an intercom only with the locked devices?

      I’m not sure actually. I would think so but we’ve not purchased any locked phones so I couldn’t say for sure.

    All went well till I rebooted the UDM Pro at the end, but Unifi Talk will no longer start. It tries to start, and gives up. It is doing that in a continuous loop!

    ‘usr’ does not mean “users”. In UNIX / Linux ‘usr’ means Universal System Resources.
    For real users their data belong in the /home/ folder - however UNIX users are not UniFi users.

    Hi good video, any idea if these handsets can take over BT dv?

      Thanks for watching! I'm not sure we are still learning about Unifi Talk and haven't had a chance to try it out with many services yet.

    Can you add non-ubiquity SIP phones to unify talk? I've a few phones and an ATA I'd like to use.

      Watch this space. We’ll be trialing this soon and I’ll do a video if successful.

      @@home.network.solutions cool. I'm very close to just pulling the trigger on an unlocked phone. Apparently you just need one ubnt phone to get through initial setup

    Do I have to do swap PCMU to PCMA for European VOIP providers ?

      I’m not sure, this video is about the UK specifically.

      You can now choose the codec in the settings under General in Talk.

    Do you use sipgate by any chance? Having real trouble getting the 3rd party sip part done

    • @home.network.solutions
      @home.network.solutions  8 месяцев назад +1

      No I’m afraid we do not use Sipgate. I suspect there will be quirks for each provider, assuming their service is compatible.

      @@home.network.solutionswhich voip provider are you using? I might just move my service. The problems with being an early ish UK adopter means no one seems to have figured it out for sipgate yet!

    What would the advantage be in purchasing a Unifi Talk handset and connecting a Yay account over using a Grandstream IP phone with a the Yay account?

    • @home.network.solutions
      @home.network.solutions  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, I don’t have experience with Yay specifically so I’m afraid I can’t offer much on that. The advantage of connecting a Unifi phone would be down to personal preference but I would say the Unifi System is a little easier to configure and navigate. Also you can use Unifi Access and Protect with the Unifi phone.
