Can see how valuable that frame jig is to you. Definitely worth it to build one for a restoration such as this. I will be building one for my next Impala. I have 5 patiently waiting their turn. Thanks for the info. Great substance.
I’m trying to fix up a 64 impala and your work really gives me a lot of tips here and there cause I’m not a pro so your videos help a lot,I was gonna send you some pictures but it wouldn’t let me.
Can the rockers be cut out and replaced without having to remove the whole floor? And what's the difficult range on a job like that? Thank you for your time. Great vids.
I tell ya it is good therapy to see such intense work. I couldn't do it. I'd like to have bill gates kinda money to make a 1962 Chevy Batmobile. Maybe fins in back.
Thanks ! If you want to see metal work that replicates the factory check out the 1968 Charger restoration on my content page, again thanks for watching
I’m doing a similar 62 impala build .. I’m at the point we’re I’m ready to paint the new installed floor pan. Do you Seem seal the underside and braces of the pan ?
@@Cheez1979 I seam seal every joint, I use 3M fast and firm it works well for me, it does skim over really quickly so you have to be quick when you're working with it but it expands and contracts really well doesn't pull away over time from the joint.
Hello guzzi Toni my name I'm working on a 1968 impala convertible the entire under carriage if rusted do you have any video wheel wells inner/outer rockers, truck floor.
Awesome job great work recently working on my Impala I have to do the rockers on mine too but not as bad as yours looking forward to seeing your process god bless
If I were replacing the entire rear section ( quarters, trunk, etc ) yes I would still put the vehicle on a fixture.... can those items be replaced without using a fixture? yes... A fixture removes any variable or guessing. Thanks for watching !
Fascinating how you make it look so easy Robert. Did you do part 9 video yet. I been following this since the beginning. Great work.Coming along very nice.
Really really enjoy watching your work learning a lot from you Getting ready to hopefully rebuild my 60 Bel-Air soon . When you Weld the framework inside of the car to keep it from twisting and warping where is the best places to Weld this temporary framework, And is it always a good idea to weld in the temporary framework or only when you're doing certain things Like moving the body around a lot Thank you so much for your help best regards Richard
Do you have a rough idea what it should cost to replace the full floors/braces/inner and outer rockers in a 62 impala, thanks just trying to get a heads up on what it should cost me roughly thanks
nice vids man i really enjoy it and appreciate the tips, i have 2 that im building and ive never restored a car, but watching you as you go along, before i start is alot for me so thanks. ive been in "school" by practicing and learning these things before i gewt started, these cars will test me big time. again thanks. also what are the clamps you use to pull the body panels? i have one that took some collision on the side and may need something like that
If you Google Moe clamp that's a brand name I believe but it's just a standard Collision Repair body clamp if you go to auto body Toolmart.com they carry those, you can absolutely do the repairs to your car take your time plan out what you're doing take pictures and you'll be fine hey thank you for watching
love the videos man this is inspiring. what size is your jig table I was thinking of making one for my impala and other projects. looks like its a perfect size. Thanks in advance.
@@georgesand4629 probably okay without bracing but it's really a judgment call..... as you're cutting the floor you want to pay attention and make sure things don't start shifting or moving

Can't wait to see the next video !

Yes, Toni I have multiple videos on those subjects.Look on my playlist under 62 63 64 impalas. You will find everything you need there. Thanks !

Thanks ! if you go to the video page, I just finished up a 68 Charger that will mirror the work on the Impala.
It seems like you replaced a bout 80 percent with after market panels wouldn't it be easier to build a new body with replacement body parts ?
yes
@@guzzifabrication3448 could you build a car body from those pieces?
Whats your criteria for bracing a body. If the floors and rockers were good would u still brace body?

Just curious. How much would this restoration cost? (Roughly.)
I give estimates after the vehicle has been disassembled, installed onto a rotisserie and media blasted.... anything else is just guessing....
Did you make the stand that the body is on?
Yes I made the frame fixture 4x4x1/8 square tubing

I'm curious how much does something like this cost
Higher end craftsman shops are at an hourly rate and lower quantity shops price by the job
I'm doing a 60 impala rocker. My floors and braces are solid. Can I just cut out the outer and inner rocker without bracing it?
Is it on a frame fixture George? Bracing it is always cheap insurance
It's on it's own frame with floors. The floors are solid. It's on it's wheels like a whole car.
