What’s the metal border for your doors to hold the lexan called and where did you get it ? You did such a great job on this. I have a Camaro ss and I’d like to see about getting that support boarder to hold my lexan.
I’m sure it probably could’ve been glued in, but we decided to use the rivets and rivnuts since this is just a race car. Lexan has an issue yellowing or becoming foggy overtime, so it will eventually have to be changed. This just made it easier.

@@Louie88 thanks man! I just laid the lexan in the existing windshield channel. The black border is just spray paint!
Did you paint the border on the inside or outside. I’m making mine this weekend. Thanks.
@@todds5956 I did mine on the inside!
@@CoopsHouse Thanks man.
Trimaco X board works way easier for templates than cardboard. I use it for everything on the race car.
@@todds5956 I’ll have to check it out!
@@CoopsHouse cheap Too. Amazon has it for like 30 bucks for a big roll. I made my tubs, floor , firewall plates everything with it. Cuts super easy
@@todds5956 definitely sounds like a better way to go. Thanks for the info man!
@@CoopsHouse yeah man it makes everything so much easier just make a template for everything
@@todds5956 absolutely
What did you use to paint the border around the windows
I scuffed it with red scotch bright and then sprayed it with rustoleum paint and primer in a can!
You’re not able to use urethane and primer to install it? Wouldn’t drilling into it would cause air leaks etc

I read somewhere that “Poly windows shatter into sharp shards, in a accident you basically have knifes flying around” Is this true?
I haven’t been able to break it lol
@@CoopsHouse Ever used Plexiglass? I’m leaning towards that
@@briizcustoms9543 it’s the same thing. Plexiglass is just the brand name
@@CoopsHouseThanks for replying! Would I follow these same steps for my plexiglass install?
@@briizcustoms9543 you absolutely can! This was our first time so there are definitely some improvements that could be made but overall it’s not bad!
Awesome
Thank you!
