I am amazed to see all the effort and equipment needed to add water to your fields. Here where I live we have to install underground perforated tile to remove excess water from our fields. This area used to be known as The Great Black Swamp. Now is very productive farm land.
Great video. I have driven past/flown over the circular water systems for decades without any knowledge of their mechanics. As for gloves, I work on my brother's horse farm in northeastern Wisconsin. I have pairs of gloves stashed EVERYWHERE! In the Gator, tractor, truck, car, barns, etc. You can never have too many! 😁
I appreciate your positive attitude and the joy you spread thru your channel. Thanks for the interesting explanation about your sprinklers, and I always enjoy listening to you, seeing your beautiful smile and how you and Zach relate and work together. Love you too 💯💕
Great job!!!! who would have thought irrigation could be so interesting!!!! I really appreciate the information you provide to help us non-framers understand. It seems to me to be not over simplified but not information overload either!! It's just right!!!
great explanation of the sprinkler nozzles! I'm sure most people hadn't even thought about the different volume requirements of a circle field or how to achieve them
Slow day at the sprinkler shop! Plenty of extra time. I worked in the drip irrigation business for a number of years, low flow irrigation. Those systems are also designed very critically. When you are running miles of tubing, you can check pump pressure to see where the out of spec nozzles are. Crows and coyotes tend to destroy the nozzles seeking water. I had one farmer keep 5 gallon buckets of water in the field(grape vines) for the coyotes to drink and leave the system alone. Stay safe!
As someone with many years of experience with all brands of pivots and the plethora of different sprinkler types that have been sold throughout the years, I know y'all will love those new D3030 sprinklers! My most favorite feature with those sprinklers is the flush mode on the 3030 series nozzles - it's a HUGE time saver by eliminating the need to completely remove the nozzle when they become plugged up with debris and need to be flushed out. The entire Nelson 3030 family of products as a whole are some of the most versatile pivot sprinklers on the market today. I also highly recommend checking into the O3030 "Orbitor" the next time y'all need to replace a sprinkler package on any other pivots where a lower application intensity, off-axis (aka wobbler) type of sprinkler would be most desirable for tighter soil profiles. The R3030 Rotator and A3030 Accelerator sprinklers would both be great second choices as well if you have a pivot that's set up with wider drop spacing that requires a greater distance of throw from each sprinkler to provide sufficient overlapping coverage. I always enjoy all of the pivot/sprinkler content y'all put out most of all! You did a phenomenal job with this one, explaining the process of not only how to change out your sprinkler package, but also showing the differences between the two different types of sprinklers from those old Senninger LDN sprays to the new D3030s. Thanks for sharing - keep it up! 💚
Seems like just yesterday it was harvest. Now it is almost planting. Wow Good vid yall. You really need to remember the gloves and tools. Keep up the good work
Thanks for sharing the video Jordan. Y'all work great together. Looking forward to seeing more videos as spring has sprung. Those nozzles should make work a lot nicer.
What put put a filter systop? Ready to dwell before the water gets into the nozzanswers, so you don't have to keep cleaning on a replacing them. It's called a filter system at the will try it. You might like it.
In all my time working on my family's farm over the last few decades, I don't think I've ever even heard about needing to change one of the sprinkler nozzles, so this is wild to me. Maybe my family just had regular sprinkler servicing from a company that I didn't know about, even though we generally handled everything on the farm ourselves. I definitely see the usefulness of it though.
Great info! I never thought about water needing to be metered along the system. What I'm wanting to know is about the gearing on the wheels, so the inner sets go slower than the outer?
I never would have dreamt there was so much work or much science involved with a sprinkler watering system , it makes sense but I just never had any reason to think about it lol. This as all of your videos are very educational and your positive attitude that you both maintained even though you both forgot gloves and channel locks lol.
That's okay. You got no gloves or channel locks. I watch a fishing husband and wife Cole and Jay and every time he goes out in his boat he forgets the net. In fact he put the boat in the water one time and the boat by time. He drove the truck up and put it parked it. He got back to the dock and it was out in the middle of the lake. He's on RUclips. Cole and Jay, it's hilarious. Well I won't say nothing. Jay reminds me of you know who you both probably get good friends. They're in Arkansas. You got to watch them get a good chuckle sometimes when he goes fishing by himself and that's all I got to say about that. Y'all be safe today
There’s a place by us that puts sprinkler paxs together and we got a well that does 400 gallons a minute it is drip tape and we got some well up to 1000 gallons a minute and got one high pressure pivot left the rest are low pressure
Wow Jojo, I just picked muh chin up off duh floor. I am in AWE to see how your production skills have grown! This is amazing Jojo, how did you know I was curious about how a center pivot worked? I pass them all the time. I enjoyed every bit of this and now I want to change pivot nozzles too. I just have 2 questions for ya. 1) In a field so large with no land barriers in sight, how do you know where to place it? I assume GPS, but I was wondering. 2) How can you synchronize nozzle replacements and cold plunging at the same time? It just seems natural cause FarmGirls need to multitask. Observation: I think I know why you censor your tootsies when cold plunging, you don't want us to see your painted CityGirl toenails. Hahahahaha, I love your channel girl. You need to take the full on FarmGirl plunge, we know what farm feet look like. We've already seen your FarmGirl fingernails. Hahahahaha, I am outta control. Excellent production, I don't know where you find the time.
Have you guys thought about drip tape for the corners of the pivot ? Would drip tape be to high in maintenance? I’m not an irrigator so just wondering? Thanks love your channel 👍
Hi JoJo. How did you like the Claas tractor. Do you do your own spraying. If so try to demo a JD or hagie sprayer with the new See and Spray tech on them. Just spraying for weeds will save 50 percent on chemicals.Enjoy all your shorts and full videos.
Phew! was not fully aware of all that type of work with Sprinklers. In our workshop, I've been frustrated with wearing gloves in hot weather .... Have you considered using Montage Pasta ( Assembly Paste ) for all those screwed fittings ? makes screwing easier and of course they should unscrew again too. Use the correct grade of course! Sláinte Mhath
Is water pressure/flow what powers the machinery that causes the pivots to move in circles? How many circles do the pivots make during the sprinkling cycle?
I can see where your hands would be really getting torn up on screwing all them nozzles, maybe keep some gloves right on your rig, have a great day 🌅🌄😊
you two are an special example how it's supposed to be done thank you , much appreciated
Jojo, thanks for the more in-depth sprinkler video. I really find them interesting.
I never knew how much work and thought went into them.

So true, just picked up a 15pr pack from the Home D

Watching Zack and JoJo smiling and being pleasant starts my day out wonderfully. Thanks you two.

Interesting, never really realized all that . Tanks ❤
"Here, take the people!" It got me laughing 😂
Your just amazing jojo 😊

It's kind of funny how in the spring you wear rain gear working with the sprinkler, so ya don't freeze, but by mid Summer, ya can't wait to get wet.
There’s a place by us that puts sprinkler paxs together and we got a well that does 400 gallons a minute it is drip tape and we got some well up to 1000 gallons a minute and got one high pressure pivot left the rest are low pressure
Excellent. Thanks for sharing!
