Colleen! I have my BA in theatre and at 27 years old have not set FOOT on a stage since I graduated in 2018. It is such a creative longing that I can empathize with what you're feeling about missing performing. I just wanted to pop down here and tell you I believe in you I saw you in Seattle in 2015 and have witnessed firsthand the awesome energy you can bring to the stage. I can understand that Miranda may be a thing of the past due to all the *drama*, as much as that hurts my heart to say, I have complete faith that you will find your way to the stage again. I studied mostly experimental theatre in college. Weird, fun art is a passion of mine, you have inspired me to one day find a way to create my own art and share it with the world. You are an inspiration to many and a talent that still has plenty of time to shine. Keep smiling and being the best you that you can be! ❤

I absolutely love that you shop at places like Target and Marshalls. My son is 2 and I would get excited when Wes would have the same outfits as my son 😊. To this day (in a non creepy way) anytime I see anything with construction trucks at a store I show it to my husband and say how I think Flynn would love it. I’ve watched and grown with you for over 10 years. I grew up in a conservative Christian home, have 3 kids, been through a divorce and now am happily married to my best friend and couldn’t relate more to you in so many ways ❤
You could write a show that would be a musical timeline of the songs that mean the most in your life. You're a THEATER KID, and that's for life ❤🤩😍
Remember this, treasure the kids growing up and spending as much time as possible with them. These are one time moments that may not happen again. STAY POSITIVE AND HAPPY 💛

I live in Wisconsin and really wanted to come to your Chicago show and give you a big hug and tell you how much you have inspired me and then all the 💩 happened, and that desire only got stronger! I guess I will have to tell you in comments for now, but if you ever perform near the Midwest again, I will be there! I LOVE YOU, SOUL SISTER!!

Girl I would love to see you on stage again!! But I get it, anxiety is pure evil. Just know we love you. I took my young daughter to see you in May and it was so freaking special to us. It was just days before the one year anniversary of my moms sudden passing. We needed you. It was so good to smile and laugh again. So thank you for that and I love getting to pay that forward by surrounding you with love and positivity. Keep going girl!!

TTQ: Hello Colleen! What are some things you do to keep Christmas and Flynn's birthday separate and special? My son is turning 1 (ahhhh) two weeks after Christmas and I want to make sure it doesn't feel like Christmas part two as he gets older.
My bday is 2 weeks after Christmas and it never felt like an extension of Christmas! Growing up I actually loved it bc in my mind I got to ask for more gifts than my siblings (lol middle child problems). My parents always made my birthday just as special as anyone else’s in the family, never made me feel like having a bday so close to the holidays was a burden by never talking about money around me (mostly as a little kid so I didn’t ever have to feel guilty for it). They just made the day about me, let me pick what I wanted for dinner, that sort of thing! And avoid combining Christmas and birthday gifts as much as you can! At least when they’re in those early years where your birthday feels so magical. Hope this helps :)

I felt a similar loss when I realized I'd never do a ballet performance again. I did ballet on the professional track for 15 years of my life. Every year in November and April, I would have a show. Long story short, I got injured and the leadership in my company was very abusive, so I had to make the very painful decision to leave. Over the years I've tried to get back into ballet professionally again but I've gotten very triggered from my past experiences and as much as I miss dancing and performing, it was better for my mental health to close that chapter. Sometimes I think of the different choices i could've made or where I'd be if I never got injured, but I know deep down that I'm in the right place in my journey. But the ache of that loss will always be in my heart. I'm sending you all the good vibes and happy thoughts you need while you begin to heal your loss of touring, and I know whatever you choose to do in the future will be wonderful and will fulfill you. ❤

I am beyond thankful I got to see you in Tampa, like I laughed so much during that time, it was wonderful & I was in awe of your creativity & talent ❤ But not having shows right now is very bittersweet, think of what you ARE getting, not what you’re not getting, the time with your kiddos and family, which is completely irreplaceable.
This may lead you to other endeavors, starting up a local theater for one or bridging out into classes for kids and adults, you never know!
Next year will be great! Do a show or 2 in the spring and see what happens...they will be packed. And start planning now for next year's Christmas show..❤

Colleen ❤. I’m a December 9th birthday and it’s really not that close to Christmas. It’s a good 2 weeks away. Flynn and I are lucky ducks. Ha. As long as you retain the commitment to celebrating his birthday and (unless he ever insists) keeping the theme non-Christmas holiday-ish, then all is well. I love having a December bday. It’s my favorite time of year and well, we all know #Sadgesrule. No Xmas paper was ever used on my bday gifts and I would get just as many or few bday gifts as my 2 July siblings. No added stress necessary. I know you’ll always throw him a rad party because you are such a rad mom. Happy big boy birthday to Flynn! My almost bday buddy. Hope you’re all having a blast today.
