Yup...you know I spotted that Western Star concrete pumper and that even nicer Kenworth W900 hauling that little kitty right behind it. At our local tractor shows that we have here, there is a mobile ice cream vendor in a trailer, and they've got a John Deere hit-n-miss engine powering the ice cream maker. A permanent setup in that trailer and the old JD does all of the work of churning the ice cream. More good stuff and nice places, Dave. Thanks for the visual vacation. 🤠👍

I am laughing....we were down in Berlin and Charm today to get smithing coal for our forge, grab some cheese and do some wood shopping at Keims. Berlin was a nightmare for traffic! (We do frequent down there, we just live an hour north). Thanks for showing us your great purchases! I know you'll all enjoy them😊
She loves to go to Keim Jennifer. Our house package came from Keim and they delivered it for free to us here. We bought most of our stuf like faucets and bathroom tubs, commodes etc at Keim also. The salesperson there spend all day with Mrs. Dave as she picked out stuff. I went away with $20,000 less in my checking account after that visit! Many many moons ago I bought and had rebuilt a hit and miss washing machine motor. I know a family that still didn't have electricity or running water in the house and the motor quit on their washing machine. The local Maytag repair man agreed to rebuild a motor if I'd buy the parts. I'd came across the family in my time working in mental health. It was a set of grandparents taking care of almost all of their grandkids including a couple with mental health issues.
My great grandmother had a Maytag with a hit n miss engine on it Jughead. They didn't get electricity in their house until the 1960;s. If John Deere made ice cream makers like that now, they would be computerized and only an authorized JD dealer would be able to work on them.... Everyone thought they where fancy because none of his brothers or sisters had ever seen a house with electric in it. Pops though he'd never be able to spend all the money he was making in the army. $68 bucks a month on combat pay. I'm old enough to remember when we had to go out back to use the restroom. Papaw kept old a alcohol mining light going every night so see. One year the light started a fire and burned the out house down. All the men folk got together to rebuild it. I'm my family that's a lot of folks. There was 11 kids including pops and all of them had 2 or more kids. Well we all got to building and by the end of the day we had one dandy of a two holer setting out back. Papaw demanded we take it down and redo it! He didn't what the neighbors to think he was uppity showing of a two holer!
Nice trip! So nice to have places like those to shop. My ears perked up when you said there was an old hit-or-miss engine! When you parked and got out, I could hear it! Boy, I was thinking, "Go over to it, go over tooo it!" And you did! Reminds me of a little piece of Flywheels and Pulleys Old Time Gas and Steam Engine Show up north of here in Constableville, NY... My dad really loved going each fall. They had parades around the grounds there. Old tractors pulled trailers with old bus seats bolted on them. You could hitch a ride on them and have a seat, ride all around, seeing the old engines. They had rows of them, all putt-putting and popping. 😊 I miss those special times with my dad, but I've got them in my heart! Thank you for taking time to bring the gang along!

$390 for plastic furniture seems insanely overpriced to me :( You used to be able to get Amish made real wooden furniture for reasonable prices down there. I guess not anymore!

My grandmother bought a chair exactly like the ones you see the people sitting in at 3:01 in the video in the 60s from a shop in Berlin. She died 20 years ago and we still have the chair, it's in perfect condition and the only maintenance required is dusting it off from time to time. Overpriced plastic can't replace a quality piece of wood worked by an experienced craftsman, sorry!

Amazing countryside. So well kept and clean. Glad I don't have to mow all that grass. Not sure when I had a peach last but I have an avocado story. My dad used to take the seed from store bought avocado's and for whatever reason he would stick tooth picks in them and half submerge them in a glass of water. They would sprout, then die. He did this for years. No clue why. When my son was born, (he will be 30 this oct) for whatever reason, I have no idea, I did the same with some avocado's we got and all the seeds died except 1. And it kept going in that glass of water and it would not stop. I was renting at the time, and I finally decided I'm going to plant that out back. And I did, up against the back fence of the property. By the time we moved, 2 years later, it was a young tree maybe 6 ft tall, skinny and not big enough to make avocado's yet. Today, that tree is huge and its an avocado maker for sure. Its hard to see on google earth because its in the back yard but its the only tree I've ever planted and I never stuck avocado seeds in a glass of water after ever again. Now you got me thinking about the peach seed.......
Guess we need to do an experiment on peach seeds then David. That's a pretty cool story about the avocado tree. I've never had an avocado. We do love peaches tho!
