Hollie is the whole package.....voice, beauty, and sellability. I loved watching her every week, and felt she should have won. I guess American Idol couldn't have a British born winner? The judges should all be ashamed of themselves; the way they beat up this extremely talented young lady! This travesty, along with Adam Lambert not winning his season is why I stopped watching the show!
Hollie should have gotten at least into top 3 - I think had she the chance to have more training and experience, she would sound better than Carrie Underwood (whose voice has a somewhat harsh tone and is not a very strong singer anyway). Of course life is never fair, a small select few rise to the very top while the rest remain as the average unknown on the street. For that matter even talented artists who were well-known for a period during their heyday are barely remembered today ... some female artists that come to mind are Tammi Terrell, Minnie Riperton, Suzanne Vega etc.

At 2015, I just realized, country music was my favorite music so after I rewind all their performances, easily Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine are my Top 2 in my opinion, my Top 5 for AI 2012 1.
