I wonder why Satan is bound in the bottomless pit for a thousand years in Revelation 20:2 and then he is released from that prison after the thousand years are up?? Just curious.

      Rudy Rico.
Because its God's way of using satan to sift His people. Satan is just full of himself that he does not even have any clue that he is being used by God to accomplish His plan in eternity.
God will restore eden in the end. He doesn't want another satan there. So He will finally put an end to sin, death, rebellion by destroying all of them in the lake of fire in Righteousness through His Second Adam, His Son, The Lamb, Jesus Christ.
God wants to tabernacle again with His people, just like in the time of the First Adam with her wife Eve without the serpent and rebellion spirit this time.

The millennium was a 40 year process when a righteous remnant were coming out of the Old Covenant age of Israel guided by Torah, and into the New Covenant age of the church guided by the Spirit. It started in 30 AD at the cross, and ended in 70 AD on the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord, or the Great Tribulation when the temple and apostate Jerusalem were demolished. It was a period of time between the 1st and 2nd coming of Christ. The 2nd coming being spiritual in nature, "on the clouds of heaven", in judgement against apostate Jerusalem in 70 AD. It's also called the 2nd Exodus (30 AD to 70 AD). It was also the arrival of the kingdom, the end of the age, judgement day, the Parousia, the resurrection of the dead, the fulfillment of ALL things written in the Old Covenant law and prophets, and all fulfilled in 70 AD. That's the Good News of the Gospel.✝

I'm glad the church put Revelation in the Bible canon because it came very close to being omitted from the New Testament (the Greek church fathers who canonised the Bible couldn't understand all that Hebraic apocalyptic/symbolic language).

We know Jesus ain't a chicken that stupid right, and it is a symbolic statement, but it actually means something... Everything symbolic thing means something literally... A Lion a Bear a Leopard and a Dragon, are symbolic right... But they actually are a symbol for Assyria, Persia, Greece and Satan... And those 4 have nothing and have never had anything to do with Rome... That's reading scripture in light of scripture... Rev 13:1-2... I agree that the rapture is an imposition, but I also see no reason not to take Revelation literally. Why not have 1000 years mean 1000 years? I don't understand why there is any debate over this.

    • @BibleAnswerMan
      @BibleAnswerMan  10 месяцев назад +1

@Procopius464 Given that Revelation 20 has nothing to do with a literal dragon and a literal seven-headed monster, it is not some sort of Japanese Kaiju monster movie, but those images symbolize very dark forces, like Satan, and an antichristian leader and empire, it is apropos to find symbolism in the 1000 years.
Hank understands the millennium to be vindication language, wherein God vindicates those suffering for Christ over a short period (i.e. “ten days”) in that they reign with Christ forever (i.e. “a thousand years”). He writes, “though mistaken by many as a semi-golden age of Christian history-leading to much debate over whether the return of Christ will happen before (premillennialism) or after (postmillennialism) the millennium, or whether the millennium is symbolic of the period of time between Christ’s first and second advents (amillennialism)-the thousand years of Revelation are symbolic of the unique and ultimate vindication (qualitative) that awaits the martyrs who died under the first century persecution of the Beast” (Hank Hanegeraaff, The Apocalypse Code [Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson, 2007], 274-275, cf. also ibid, 256-257n)

@@BibleAnswerMan Thanks for responding to me. It's good that you guys check the comment section and interact with viewers. I agree with you that the monster is probably a visual representation of something spiritual and/or political. The use of monsters and beasts to represent empires is also present in Daniel. However, when a specific duration of time is mentioned, I see no reason to not take it as such, like the 6 days of creation. I think most of the events in Revelation have yet to occur, and at the time of writing none of the stuff from chapter 4 onward had yet occurred, because it says so right at the beginning.
What is your position on the Antichrist and the mark of the beast? Is it yet to come, or is it something figurative? I know amillenial people think it's figurative, and rapture people think it's literal.

Much of the Bible and especially New Testament teachings are simply not understood at all.
People mistake allegory for the literal and the literal for the allegorical. For example most grown up peoples should know very clearly that the story of The Garden of Eden is simply an allegory explaining why a loving all powerful God would introduce death and suffering into the world. Basically saying that mankind allowed the passive to become the active and thus wrecking paradise. Some ppl can see this dynamic in their personal lives today.
And seeing that Eve just ruined the fate of all mankind it sounds like Adam took it all rather well. Also the story of Noah and the arc actually dates back over a thousand years to the story of Gilgamesh and involves the Babylonian gods and their dramas. Furthermore it is actually not known that Moses actually ever existed. He spears to scholastics to be the combination of characters from Babylonian myths.
Never the less does this all make any difference to us today? No how are any of these ppl going to help humanity today in any way except in the examples of manhood and of a prophet. The point in all the stories is to help one find out who exactly you are and what your potential may be.
Lastly all this speculation on the “End of the World” and “The Second Coming of Christ”, these especially are misunderstood and even by the apostles. The whole problem is that it’s a secret teaching. If you don’t believe that then just think with me for about two minutes. So why was the Bible written in such a cryptic form ? Why not speak plainly for all to understand the truth? First of all if Jesus spoke the truth then no one upon hearing his words would doubt Him. That would remove the option of free will for man right. If the existence of God was made obvious then all would would do the best they can to follow the teachings bc they were true and how can you go against the truth right? Mankind would soon find out how absolutely weak we all are and how desperately we all need Gods help. Well this is the truth no One seems willing to face. Mankind is allowed to live their life’s in numerous self created in part delusions. Everyone walks around like they know exactly what is going on and what means what and what’s the problem right. Humanity is this born into a sleeping world and when faced with all Life’s uncomfortable truths facts they choose to use these various forms of denial to avoid facing actions that must be taken to live in accordance with the Truth. Actions that seem impossible and near unachievable that is without Gods help. This principle applies to everything. Without Gods help we are just blind “demon possessed” sleep walking zombies right and how fun is that? No not fun.
So all these questions and ideas about the Second coming of Christ likewise can not be figured out with our present minds. In the apparent stories and instructions it is clear that the early Christians fully believed that this occasion would happen soon. Paul even told his disciples not to bother getting married or starting a business. The time was to be soon. They forget that the Jews most often told stories that were allegorical in order to present a teaching and to preserve truths down through the centuries.
These stories around the second coming are the same. The teachings are in the forms of allegories designed to plant seeds of ideas that later can come to fruition just like the mustard seed parable. You see for the public all the teachings are cloaked in cryptic parables. Ppl forget that most all the stories are parables with important teachings of principles and truths. Tone and then Jesus would speak
    Plainly.
Like in John 14:21 Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him. “
In other places it says “I will lift you up as on the Last Day for judgement. These words should be included in the idea of the second coming. The reason is that the Second Coming Of Christ is a big secret. In fact the biggest of all discoveries mankind will Make. To realize the absolute reality of the Godhead. To stand in front of that incredible glory so full of Love, perfect meaning and the perfect Revelation and truth the Christ spoke from which he comes. Grace comes into the donor through repentance. Sincere repentance. Only then can Christ come down from heaven and enter the body of a man and lift him up to the Father. “ there will be a time when anything you ask in my name will be given to you“. at here you learn the secret of the Second Coming. It is far more amazing than anyone can imagine. This relegation from Christ has been recorded by many early saints. The experience was common among early Christians and this is why they were so willing and even Edgar to die as martyrs for Christ Jesus. This vision in the Orthodox tradition is called Theoria and the Catholics call
It the beatific vision. This is the revelation and good news Christ ultimately brings to us. Books could be written on this subject but the secret is referred to again and again in the gospels. In fact the gospels can not be understood without this illumination of the mind and text. I will say the Parusia will not be a historic event. It has been occurring continuously since the time of the Apostles. Jesus did not lie and the apostles were not deceived. His coming is like a thief in the night so that the unbelievers don not see and change their ways without first living Christ and seeking Him and the Father with all one’s heart and body and soul.
The answer man doesn’t have all the answers. But the father will reveal them to you when you ask in Christs name.
