- With the introduction of the Opel Astra Electric, buyers can now have the German hatchback in any flavour of powertrain they wish, including diesel and plug-in hybrid. And while the EV may be the last variant to arrive, the battery-powered Astra appears to have been worth the wait. It benefits from the slightly larger 54kWh battery pack that other models in the Stellantis group now use.

It's insane.. it took 15 years before someone finally did it.. a normal electric car.. allround and "simple". Not an SUV.. finally!
This is how it should be! You’re totally right.
A normal car with an abnormal price.
Waiting for the estate version as with the Peugeot 308 electric models and variants
Won't be long to wait.
Safety features?? What are the on-board cameras and sensors like to use? It's not all about the sporty drive..
The safety features all work reasonably well.
It wasn’t designed from the ground up as an EV. It comes as ICE or PHEV, hence the hump in the floor lol
It was designed to accommodate EV, ICE and PHEV
I think what will be really interesting here is the pricing.. and i sense its going to be pretty high.
On a UK review I believe they said 40k… In Ireland because of the VRT and grants it might come in around 45k! 😮
@@seancotter4610 yeah.. I heard that too. I’m not too sure they’ll still many of these here
Pricing will be key to this car's success.
A pity it can't tow a trailer of any weight.
And that it's so expensive for its size
When you’ll make a road-trip with this electric car ?
We'll be doing longer journeys once we get our hands on the car for an extended period.
unfortunately its been price matched to the Tesla model 3!!
Which would you choose?
VTL ????
No, not yet.
It does NOT get a 418km range. It really gets a 320 km range (at best and not even some times)
That's the WLTP figure. Everyone can get different figures depending on a large number of parameters.
If you find nothing wrong with a car you are either paid to review or bad at your job.
