"Close to annihilation". Jokes apart, they were talking based in what they saw in the battle, sometimes it happens in Splatoon, you are in an even match and by the end all you can see is purple.

That´s right. In Splatoon you can´t always use the same weapon.

Japan: The best team in their nation after countless battles to reach the top, and they then added the best player to ever live to their ranks to show they were playing for keeps
USA: A bunch of guys who just played with each other online and had fun. (They start off sloppy, but then come back to win it all.)

I've said this once before but I will say it again.
I'm super glad that Deadbeat won. As much as I respect the Japanese team and the effort they put in, this tournament proved that Japan isn't the dominating force that everyone makes them out to be. I also think that's why so many people are surprised when Deadbeat took the last game in a nail biting overtime moment.

I don't know man, there's Zelda BOTW, Bomberman, Arms, MK8 Deluxe, Binding of Isaac, a TON of really good indies like Mr. Shifty and Snake Pass, and then we have some really great games to look forward to like Super Mario Odyssey, METROID PRIME 4, a new Kirby, a new Yoshi, a new Pokemon, and the list goes on! I Didn't even mention some of the golden 3rd party titles we're getting like Skyrim! So I'd say it's worth it to just get it now before Splatoon 2 comes out. Oh, and every game you get can be taken with you ANYWHERE! Imagine playing Splatoon on the road! I also hear playing when tethered to a phone hardly uses any data. All of this is why I bought a Switch, although this is just my opinion, I SERIOUSLY recommend buying It ASAP! they're selling like hotcakes.

Hugh Mungous everyone has their reasons for getting the consoles they do, but no other console can play skyrim on the go; that's why I bought the switch! Along with all the great first party titles that you can't get on Xbox one, PC, or PlayStation. Again, this is my choice and opinion, you can get whatever you want, but the switch is the coolest console I've ever owned!

    • @rodd_boward

Well done and congratulations to all of the competitors - just take it in that all 12 people in the tournament represent the best Splatoon players in the entire world! Such a great set to watch. I was on the edge of my seat for every match. Watching this live, I and many others expected Dynameu to just dominate this since they were undefeated going into the finals. Then Deadbeat, the team that got stomped in their first 2 matches including one against Dynameu, takes it in a 4-1 victory. Words cannot describe how exciting this was to watch.

This was such a great tournament! These players are truly the best of the best and showed they have what it takes to compete at a high level. Also, the commentators were really good at analyzing the strategies of the teams and really seemed to understand the game at a competitive level. And that ending of the last game was amazing! I think this really solidifies Splatoon's entrance into the esport community in a perfect way
