I swear, this developer loves his game more than any developer I've ever seen. He really tries to make the best decisions for the enjoyment of the player, and I love it so much.

Guys 2 questions, if one or more of you could please answer. I was very interested in getting this, never played a splatoon before at all, but first, do a lot of people still play? Is it still pretty popular or slightly dead by this point? Second, beyond that (even if a good amount of people do still play) is it still worth it without this splatfest whatever that is? With this being the last one, would the game still have a lot of value aside from that, in long term playability?
ChronoMune A lot of people still play for sure, I haven’t had any issues finding a match. And I think people will still play it for a while. Even if they release a third one it won’t be for a couple years because apparently this final splatfest will sort of decide the direction of the sequel. So yeah, worth picking up, but try and find it pre-owned if you can.

As a person just being introduced to eSports: I am amazed. The strategy and technique are at the same caliber as athletic sports, even more sophisticated at times. Back then, we had gladiators fighting lions. The Splatoon world championship is truly an example of the Future, of Gaming, this human component.

FTWin had a good run, that clam blitz game and the second splat zones could have gone either way. Man I really thought they had it this year, with probably the strongest NA team to ever get to worlds and after beating AR like that. Either way this tournament was some of the best splatoon I've seen in a while congrats to everyone who played
Japan so deserved this win, GG Boys woked so hard they both did just just something about GG Boys makes them special, North America had a squid bagger not during these matches but before. Japan seems such a serious players and deserve this win. My opinion
probably because the format of these rounds (sans turf war) is much closer to the actual competative splatoon scene, than the smash tournament was to competative smash. i mean, they put items and stage morph on!
The hardest thing about splatoon competitive is they make sequels of the games instead of updating so the meta never changes and to continue Being a comp player you have to buy the game again.

it's a definitive game even when all of the major events are over. still lots of people playing, ranks are really nice fun and competitive too

FTWin almost had this. Almost stealing a Zones match from a Japanese team is not easy and they almost did it. Such a great tournament!
I don't have Splatoon, so I didn't know half of the gamemodes they play, but this still looks awesome. Can't wait to get Splatoon 3!!
