@@FreakishBoo its range far exceeds any bomb. It goes farther than the eliter scope. If you notice most weapons its on are short range (save for 2 i think). This range gives a safe way to tag or even splat someone from a safe distance. I would think most short range would like a long range option to be paired with it. The only things i wish they'd change is make the reticle bigger for those far away and do more damage close up, like 70
A couple of Douser notes that the video doesn't specifically touch on, but I felt were worth a mention. These things may be less impactful at the top of top competitive play, but since more than the top players will watch these kit breakdowns, why not. Actually these are both related to the post-roll turret mode: 1. Especially in practical settings where players are moving around constantly, the increased fire-rate of the turret shooting also grants you hit feedback way more quickly than the walking-fire. If an enemy has already been chipped by distant shots or a burst bomb or whatnot, a roll to move in and finish them can be huge since you know very quickly in each instant whether a shot is landing or not, and you won't need to hold your aim accurately on someone for very long if you only need to land 1 or 2 bullets anyway. Quickness of feedback is one of those qualities of a weapon that I feel is often underrated, so I'm glad to see it repped here and in a way that makes sense with the rest of the kit. 2. The spotty paint from walking-fire was mentioned, but I wouldn't overlook how quickly and solidly the post-roll shooting can cover ground. Obviously you wouldn't want to be doing this in situations where you'd be at risk of taking an unwanted charger shot or something, but a roll followed by a quick 2 or 3 stroke vertical zig-zag aim can grant you a very clean forward space pretty quickly; you can pretty much do it in the time it takes to recover from the roll in the first place. In a competitive setting it's not something you'd want to be using all the time and is best for shoring up ground defensively in situations of relative safety, but it is another tool in the bag and another piece of the weapon's flexibility.
honestly it's always nice to see a weapon get not an unfortunate first kit but just not one that doesn't fit it well and then have their second weapon kit be a phenomenal weapon kit it's always such a glow up and I wish more weapons would have that kind of impact, I'm looking at you well spring bow for your vanilla kit and your second kit
I feel like with the addition of a new weapon Nintendo tries not to give it a good kit at first, just in case it turns out that the weapon with a good kit would be broken, and then as time passes and they realize it wouldn't be broken then they give it a kit it likes a lot more. Of course, there's also stuff like Big Swig and Recycled that got screwed twice, but at least in both of those cases the second kits are still better than the first.
@@effluxi9587I mean from what the weapon looks like it seems to still have pretty dang good range like not as far as the normal bow but far more than the refflux ,The second kit I could see having potential for one of the best opening Gambit kits in the entire game but also at the end of the day opening Gambit is not the most important ability to a weapon, opening Gambit is not going to make or break your game, the first kit isn't entirely bad but I can't really see a point to having hammer if someone is that close to their rushing up to you to kill you it will take just as long for hammered to pop up as it would be to charge a shot
As much as I do like Douser's first kit, I am happy that the Custom Douser Dualies 255 gets another kit that I will definitely have fun with and other people will also get to have fun with and represent at a high level
I’m actually not so sure maximum fire rate on Squeezer is *that* impossible. Grab a metronome and set it to 450 beats per minute. Make sure to turn the volume down so it doesn’t annoy the hell out of you. Then tap to the rhythm and assuming you don’t rush, you’re firing at maximum speed. I don‘t think it’s faster than the average speed I try to spam Inkbrush at. If you really wanna take a gimmick approach to it, take your thumb off the face buttons/right stick and go and press the trigger with your middle and pointer finger alternating, making sure each press is very light so the trigger has time to return to neutral. Just alternate 12121212 to the beat. How difficult this is to do without bumping your controller and aim is another question, but “theoretical maximum” feels like a bit much to say when it’s not like it’s physically impossible.
I'm actually genuinely excited for this kit, not really a dualies player (mainly stick to buckets nowadays) but found at least the original weapon to be "easier" in a way compared to other dualies. Obviously still have to learn and put in the practice to actually develop skills with this weapon class but I just love the Douser's quirks so much. A glow up in its kit + yellow? Instant W from me.

Inkjet probably would have been more synergistic but also inkjet struggles against pencil which is really common in this meta so tri strike is a good alternative since you won't suffer while fighting pencil
I would be ok with a game where every weapon has inkjet because I think it's cool, but I don't think this weapon would have had especial synergy with it
I think the first kit is very good with haunt included. I use the first kit with ink mine and killer wail as a tracker weapon. I can tag people and chase them with haunt, and because of the weapons range, it leads to many kills. This second kit is more aggressive, and I’m all for it.

"First impressions" gives the connotation of having experienced something for the first time, which we have not since the weapons along with the other updates for the new season haven't been released yet. It's kind of like learning that a musical artist has a new album and reading a list of the song titles versus listening to the album for the first time.
Thats still a first impression though? Plenty of people give first impressions based on trailers in video games, only to give more in depth commentary on release (which is a way closer medium to compare than an album cover). What you're talking about seems more like a review. Plus out of "Prediction" "Projection" and "First Impression" the third one sounds the best anyway.

The Custom Douser Dualies, to me, are very similar to VDualies from Splatoon 2. They both have Burst Bomb and a displacement Special.
As much as I do like Douser's first kit, I am happy that the Custom Douser Dualies 255 gets another kit that I will definitely have fun with and other people will also get to have fun with and represent at a high level
