So awesome guys. The mantle is great. I just purchased a beautiful 54 Williams SGC 1. Centered, great color, and decent corners. The major flaw is on the surface, small indents in the orange. Looks like someone was writing on paper with the card underneath. Very hard to see though. Love the videos. Makes me feel I’m there with you fellas. Thanks for sharing the journey with the rest of us!

Repacks are a huge scam. Its a dump off of crap onto YOU. The sucker buying a mystery box. I hope it wasn't really 5k a table maybe that's with travel expenses
At least they were exposed. I'm sure this video will end up with a lot of eyeballs on it. It still sucks for the buyer, but their reputation will take a well-deserved hit for sure.
Mike, great pickups but especially that '49 Paige - it's refreshing to hear someone talk about good color and image over and above centering only - and especially t/b centering - which to my mind's eye is less egregious if off. I think that is a fantastic purchase and a good way to trade off what is really important in a card for price likely v. what a better centered card probably would have cost you. Bravo!

I think Jabs Family ran into the same a-hole dealer. He said he bought 2 Mickey Mantles sticker price $225 he offered $200 and the dealer got mad at him. He ended up paying the $225 instead of walking away.
Someone, er more specifically a dealer said that he paid 5K not to make deals?? that's just nasty and has no place in the hobby..... The entire point of the show is go get some good deals, lol... Look, as we all hopefully k now - 99% of us dealers are willing to work with anyone on anything .. If you went though one of my dollar boxes and found 13 cards - the answer is yes I can do it for $10 - NOT - "get out of here because you're too poor for my cards"... smh.. We're supposed to be a community, we love sports and sports cards and that should be the only thing that matters at any card show.... Ii cant believe that guy said that.
I went to a card show last year. Dealer had a 1950 Bowman football card priced at $100, I offered $75. He took it out of the card saver and bent it in half right in front of me and said sure it’s yours for $75. I was shocked, it made me so mad that he would destroy an awesome vintage card rather than negotiate with me on the price. Never seen such ridiculous behavior before in my life. Wonder if it was the same guy who was rude to you all. Don’t understand how people like that stay in business.

Im curious, psa is at 65 million on grading number, but i see your paige is serial numbered in the 90 million, ive seen a few cards with those higher serisl numbers, do you know why? Or does psa not always grade in sequential order

Mike, when I had the privilege of seeing your 1953 Topps Mantle in person, I did not notice even a hint of a paper crease! Such a sweet card for the grade! 😊

Learned that name from a Beastie Boys song a long time ago. Still have yet to buy one. Like the 73 image as well. Nice 1.5 Mantle, I have a 2.5 and some low grade cards centered like that look better then a lot of 3 to 5 grades. One of my favorite Mantle cards.
Great video... I've never been to anything like this. How does it work, for example I'm looking for PSA7 1960 Topps Baseball HOF players. Do you just look booth to booth until you find what you want? These shows are huge.

Humbly just trotting out the Mick was perfect. An awesome 1.5. And Satch for the closer...wow. Not to mention the Jeter auto and the other autos. And good to hear about the solid turnout for Day 1.
Congrats on the pickups! I bought a 53 Mantle today as well, PSA 2 with absolutely perfect centering for $3500, i felt good about that. Also was able to find more 1888 Goodwin Champions & T206’s…. All in all great day. Ill be walking around tomorrow just to look (no more buying). A little overwhelming but def worth it!!

See people are stressed theyre too money focused and of course these people have an attitude recently. Its very expensive to travel and set up at any shows let alone the pricey national. Most people aren't offering high on cards these days most are only going down. Its a big buyers market now and they have all the leverage. If youre in this to make money you're in trouble. The easy money of the pandic boom is gone. Treat it as a side hobby to our careers and you will always have fun.

Always loved going back to the hotel and the pleasure of going through your pickups . Will have to plan to go next year to Chicago, even though I will be traveling from Northern Virginia rather than Colorado.
That backpack thing was pretty funny I've never seen that form of mystery pack before. Taking advantage of the Atlantic City gambling vibes, savy sellers! haha That 53 Mantle looks so nice! I've grown to love hunting for beautiful eye appeal psa 1 range stuff for big vintage cards like that. It almost feels like you're getting away with something when you buy a psa 1 or 1.5 that looks better than cards that sell for 4x as much. Congrats on the epic day 1 pickups.
