Hasn't got knockout power like some of the heavyweights or the size and reach but he sure does make up for it in ferocity determination and the will to win. What a warrior. He never ducked Lewis or tyson like bowe did. LEGEND!!

He got fired for being an alcoholic loser, You can have the best trainers in the world if you are fighting somebody who is better then you, your trainers can't help you. @HyperInflation2020 5 лет назад

@@flipflop4396 Then I guess that means Chris Byrd was better than Holyfield.
And as far as Tyson fighting "bums"? Well he knocked those Bums out 5 years earlier, the same Bums that you give Holyfield credit for going the distance with.
Tysons record as pro HEAVYWEIGHT is 50-6
      Holyfield is 29-10.
Tyson had already had 35 pro HEAVYWEIGHT wins while Holyfield had only 18 at light heavy and cruiserweight.
Tyson literally fought twice as much as Holyfield and if you dont think that adds up to a grind,,,,,, you obviously know nothing about fighting,,,, or life in general.

    • @HyperInflation2020
      @HyperInflation2020 5 лет назад +1

@@chaosdweller You're right. People argue over who was better and its pointless.
      Peak Tyson was 85-90
      With Dominating results,
      Usually ending in KOs.
Holyfield was handed the belts that Tyson earned individually and started in 92.
His 1st real test was Bowe, which he lost.
Then he was in long battles, some of which were with who Tyson KO 5 years earlier, such as Larry Holmes, Alex Stewart twice, James Tillis.
Holyfield was had his day and so did Tyson.
Its not Tysons fault that Holyfield fought at a lower weight for his 1st 18 pro fights.
However there is a video on here where an interviewer asks Holyfield if he is ready to move up and fight Tyson anf Holyfield flat out answers that "he is not ready".
Tyson was far more advanced than Holyfield in those years and he had 35 pro heavyweight wins while Holyfield had only 18 at a lower weight.
The timing just didn't add up.

Holyfield was maybe the best of all time. But... although he was beating Kevin Barry in the Olympics Barry was a threat and Holyfield was rightly disqualified. You have to be fair. That's boxing. Barry had frustrated Holyfield, which likely caused Holyfield to make the error that led to disqualification. Barry has gone on to become one of the top trainers in boxing, teaching and managing the likes of David Tua and Joseph Parker, further showcasing his talent.

You are absolutely clueless about bodybuilding and steroids! They tested those guys continually.... it took 6 months or better for the roids to be cleared from your body to test negative. most of those guys are fighting every 3 to 6 months with testing and physicals being done every month leading up to a fight! You can lie about muscle tears but not broken bones or enhanced supplement use as this will show. There are over the counter histamines available that they cant even take because they are steroidal. Testing was done because of enhanced performance drug use by Razor Ruddick. When that broke out, they began to test all the boxers sleighted to fight.

Tyson’s personal downfall left a vacuum in heavyweight boxing, which all these people benefited from, so they all should thank god every single day, because today no one would even be talking about or making documentary about them.

Evander beat a washed up declining Tyson. He should thank the Lord he didn't have to face him pre-Don King. He'd have gotten knocked out within 4 rounds.

Based on what? Mike was fighting a lot of washed up dudes that he was supposed to beat easily. I'm not so sure he would have beaten Buster in a rematch!

Bear in mind he beat Tyson in the amateurs before he got into all the bad stuff

Soleman92 yes you're right they didn't fight as they were in different weight classes but they did spar and by all accounts he gave Tyson something to remember

The only account I read on that was Evander's.
