Incredibly high-quality match the first two sets. Surprised at Emma's level after being out so long. She'd have beaten most players outside the top 15 quite easily playing such a high level. Svitolina is heading towards the top 5 again no doubt.

Good to see Radacanu back and playing well.
At 5-2 up in the first set she needed to close the set out.
Instead it took her four more games and a tie break.
The extra energy expended cost her in the third set when she had nothing left in the tank.
In top level sport these things matter.

Emma played amazing for someone who just returned from 8 months out with 3 surgeries! Even Svitolina said this was the 2nd best match she's ever played, comparable to her QF match at WB where she beat Swiatek in 3. The level of tennis Emma displayed in the run up to 5-1 in the first set was grand slam winning quality, firing accurate DTL shots off both wings and absolutely flawless. With more match fitness she'll be able to keep up her focus and finish the set 6-2, and win a match like this in straight sets.
