Ya I can 100% confirm these are door locks and optional power mirror adjuster if you have them. Those are the only things on those connectors. Not sure what these dudes were smoking but I want some cause you can even hear them locking and unlocking the doors 😂
If you go this one it works , this one it works … the friggen title of the video is fixin a window … thanks for wasting time .. then I wasted more time writing this FML
The brown wire is supposed to be the ground wire, the test light is hooked to ground so when he uses the test light to ground the switch it works correctly so the brown wire is most likely broken or lost contact with ground.
@@jamesross6065 he figured out when he would ground it the switch would work but he didn't figure out all he had to do was to ground it to fix the damn thing 🤔 So close yet so far away 😂 hahaha
There's switches have several IC chips. My door light doesn't work, but everything else does I'm guessing it's one of the chips, going to have to replace the whole switch I think.
I had the dealership fix my drivers side window…but now the passenger automatic window freaks out and I press up but it goes up then drops all the way down. Replace a switch or the whole panel?
Your windows need to be relearned, there’s a certain procedure for every car manufacturer, it’s usually a sequence of pressing/holding the window switches
The window dash has the regulator and the regulator connected with a pulley. The pulley reel the Z shape connected steel wires. These wires lift the window up or down. So, These wires wear out over time and damage the plastic pulley of the reel. Your car's problem sound this broken plastic pulley. Thus, the wire pulses up and down randomly in order to be damaged pulley-lifting wire connection. (Lifting wires not electrical, they are just for lifting) If you have engineering experience, you can get the job done by just purchasing window lifting wire and reel.(again not electrical) However, this is a very difficult process. Because once you remove the parts needs engineering skills to put back on. I recommend you to simply replace the entire window panel.
Whats the purpose of this excerise? Your showing using a test light but what is its purpose in this application?its not lighting where you say its working and its not lightning where its working?
You can hear the locks clunk when he applies a ground to the wires that's all he's doing! It doesn't look like there's a bulb in that cheap test light looks like it's wired straight to the metal tip it's just a wire carrying the ground with a tip to backprobe wires at that point...
@@lookItUp91 lmao it was a broken wire probably in the door latch area he tested and saw the brown one had no power so he followed the brown one and fixed the cable
@@WHENWEGONEWIN He's actually carrying ground to the wires to make it work not power! So the ground wire is either broken or has a bad connection at the ground source
Broken wire, or motor is weak, so when you put the panel on it's putting enough pressure on the window to keep it from going up. Had similar problem with back window. Replaced motor and rails, fixed problem. Only $10 more to replace both.
@@originaldanman I have a 2009 VW beetle. Neither windows will go down. I had it checked by local mechanic. He checked fuse and circuit breaker. He advised I take to VW dealership to have it checked. There is service charge just to check it. Won’t give me a guesstimate. I’ve tried checking on RUclips, one showed motor $500. If I have to change both window, don’t know that I want to spend that much. Im also seeing regulator issues on some RUclips videos. I’m the original owner. It only has 92,000 miles. Any suggestions. Thanks. 😮
Hey ,what if I go with this one ,, halfway threw I decided to go with this ,now I’m all confused until I saw your. Idea so now I know I jus go with this one , I got it now ,, you schmuck
If it was a bad BCM putting a ground wouldn't fix it! For an easy fix if he didn't wanna trace the wire he could just wire in a ground to the switch an would work.. Finding open an short circuts can be a pain in the ass when it's inside a wire harness! It's prob where the wires go from the door to the car it's a common break point cus wires get fatigued from door opening & closing stressing the wires after time...
He even says "cuz when I ground it, it makes it work" the brown wire isn't doing anything... So ground the brown wire and it will be doing something...it will ground the switch and fix the problem!!!! So close yet so far away 🫵 😂
Not sure why he wouldn’t tell us, but check the wire harness in the door jam there’s a broken wire in there.
Noo.
That switch is for the door lock

😂😂 his intentions are good but his video is lacking any form of clarity or information. 😂
Thank you soooo much! I installed a new battery a few weeks ago and was clueless about this issue. It worked.
Switch battery and my windows aren’t working what do I do
How you tell everyone youre not a mechanic. Smooth brained!!
Don’t believe those are window motor switches, sounds like for locks
My thoughts also

I was saying same thing lol. Brown wire isn't doing anything . Lol I wonder if it's because it's a brown wire.. I don't know man. Funny funny shit

I pulled out the switch, turned it upside down, wiggled and cleaned the wires, then tapped it with my screwdriver a few times..... Then it worked.
Love your channel!
Ok
So how did y’all fix it because mine doing the same thing
Try removing the button on the door. Just saved me a bunch of time and money 😭

Wow! That was really confusing.
the point here is check your circuits! good video
so with that test the wire is the problem not the switch?
Great 👍.

My problem is my back window seems to be stuck or wont move .
Were you able to fix it
Try holding button down for 5 seconds then up fir 5 seconds, with key in on position. Resets window or child lock on
What is that tool

My issue is that my front window won't do anything .😢can anyone help me with that.I have a 1969 shwin.😮.
I think you're doing the door lock, not the power window. It's supposed to be on power windows.
Where do you connect the test core to?
He had the wire for the test light grounded to something under the dash or kick panel .
@@peteloomis8456 Can also ground it to any of the bolts on the door. Anything connected to the frame of the car works.

The BCM controls the ground. Its probably that.
It's more likely a break in the ground wire or has a bad connection at it's source! That's why it works as soon as he gives it a good ground!
