      yea, but is it standalone. Cant have a Daw open in front of 1000 people audience.... Needs to be an app as well. Plugin not enough!

    Just got the Amp Room myself, for the price, you can't go wrong at 69 euros as there is a 'Black November' sale on at this very moment.

    I've yet to find a vst amp setup that can emulate the Status Quo sound. I know they used a number of Marshall/ Vox Amps but nothing sounds close. Would anyone know if this setup could emulate it?

    • @sunnyhaair
      @sunnyhaair  3 года назад +2

      Got a particular Status Quo sound you can reference? Never heard em but I’m a sound designer and I can try to shape a sound to emulate it.

      @@sunnyhaair Thank you for your response. There is an actual sound Status Quo are famous for but lets say "whatever you want" as the song and on about 48 seconds in.. there is a different guitar sound from each channel and they blend so well. I've been trying to get it right with VST amps for about 3 years with no luck.. I'd appreciate anything close. Many thanks again. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/f9eKVTe-n6M/видео.html

      Still working on it btw! Got something I’d say matches it dialed in on Helix. But can you tell me what hardware or software amp sims you use? I’m planning on including it in a video.

    • @sunnyhaair

      I haven't used Amplitube 5 yet (though I will soon), but I was never impressed with Amplitube in the past.
      I'm not familiar with Overloud TH-U.

      @@sunnyhaair The others big suites to try as well are Positive Grid BIAS Amp 2 Elite, Native .Instruments Guitar Rig 6, Kuassa Amplifikation 360 (imho). There are many other less comprehensive modeling appz (imho), like Joey Sturgis Tones Toneforge, Brainworx, Softube , Scuffham, etc. It is a kewl time to be a guitar player! CHEERS!

    • @sunnyhaair
      @sunnyhaair  3 года назад +1

      The greatest time to be a guitar player! The accessibility of quality gear is an awesome thing.
      Sadly, Positive Grid just hasn’t worked for me. I tried it first with the iPad apps a few years back, then Bias, and finally the Spark amp. In my experience, I just don’t find their modeling to have the same dynamic response as other stuff. It’s been really underwhelming.
      I’m quite fond of Guitar Rig! I worked with Native Instruments a few years back. So far I’m loving Guitar Rig 6. I’ve got a video planned comparing my thoughts on Guitar Rig 6, Helix Native & Amplitube 5. I’ll check out some of those others in case I wanna add one of those too!
      I feel it’s only a matter of time till Fractal hops in the software space.

      @@sunnyhaair I found the GUI for Amplitube 5 to be vastly improved. The only stompbox I find to be special outside of the guitar suites is Black.Box.Analog.Design.HG-2. It is overwhelmingly the best saturator I have tried. As far as Positive Grid goes, you may have to try a combination of R2R and VR installs to get it running, and pay intention to cleaning up after previous installs.

      @@sunnyhaair Try the Fender METALHEAD amp in Amplitube5. I found it to be a fantastic lead amp. I confess I am a blues metal shredder. Oddly, I never ran into METALHEAD in the physical world! LOL Heretofore, I was a Marshall/MESA fan.

      @@sunnyhaair Wow!! Have downloaded the demo and was blown away!! I have tried a few Amp Sims and this is the Best for me, I am amazed by the modelling of the tone, the bass strings retain their twang and crispness on overdrive which id something I always look for but never really get, and the top have a natural and susstain. I shall be buying. thanks for your heads up otherwise I would have missed this one.

      MS is allowing FREE upgrades from Win7 to Win10 directly from their website, even DAZ activated Win7 will upgrade no problems. Time to bite the bullet, several audioappz now will not install or run correctly on Win7

  • @levondarratt787
    @levondarratt787 2 года назад

    so why cant you use this as a standalone App, and bypass the DAW - adding extra latency. Seems to make no sense #Gigperformer # instate. I dont want a daw when I play music live!

    • @sunnyhaair
      @sunnyhaair  2 года назад +1

      You could try Cantabile. It’s a VST host for performance that people say has better latency times. It would be great if Softube (or all soft-sim developers) made it standalone, but in my experience with VSTs that have standalone counterparts I’ve never had a difference in latency.
      Thanks for watching!
