- Today, I'm happy to show you around the brand new update to @SoftubeStudios Amp Room. This update introduces a whole new way of interacting with Amp Room as it's now the platform for what Softube is calling their new Suites. 4 brand new suites, Metal Suite, Marshall Suite, Vintage Suite, and Bass Suite, are all going to be the new product and Amp Room is going to come with the suites rather than be a standalone product.

Being able to build your own suite is a brilliant ecosystem design choice. Now I’m very interested in it.
Agreed! Not only the ability to build your own suite but to expand upon it later and still use the same platform instead of having to use a whole chain of plugins. So good!
This is an amazing video. I wish more people took the time to learn about this stuff and teach others like this. I really appreciate it man, keep it up!
Thank you so much! Will do! ❤️
I bought Amp Room at the new years sale, but I haven't actually used it much. The only thing I've used is SVT bass amp. With the updated cabs (the old ones were barely useable) and much better workflow, it can actually compete with other amp sims now! I still mostly use Neural Amp Modeler (and sometimes one of my Neural DSP plug-ins) for the amps, but the pedals and other effects alone in Amp Room is reason enough to start using it more. By far the best RAT emulation I've heard, and the fuzz is on-par with the Beetronics fuzz in Archetype Rabea. The only one I'm not so fond of is the ODR-1, but the tube screamer, Fortin 33, TC preamp and RAT make up for that. All of the other pedals - chorus, auto-wah, gate, doom reverb, delay, compressors, octaver, distortions, treble booster etc - are all great.
Happy to see your videos, great stuff as always.
Thank you so much! ❤
We used to be able to use more than 3 pedals in a row? What am I missing here in this update ? I know you can swap out various pedals but it allows only 3 in a row ?
I have enough plugins too many really but I tuned in because your demos are really cool.
Thank you so much! I totally understand that feeling so thank you for checking out the video anyways.
Excited to update my amp room, I’ll be honest I haven’t had much need to dust it off lately.
Hell yeah! The Vildsint and the new IR's make it way worth picking it up again
@@TheRealStevenWard its fn killer dude! i erased it for a long time but got it back and it sounds killer for metal tone!
Hi man....Nice videos, thx. I never tried this Softube stuff..... How do you think it compares to amplitube 5 and TH-U (I use these). Thx man, nice playing ;)
Awesome video! And damn! Do they upped their game... again? The last Amp Room update was already pretty decent, but now... not to mention my upgrade path to Marshall pack is awesome! 🤘🏻😀
Thank you! Absolutely, I'm glad they keep pushing to improve what's already there. I think you'll dig the new IR's in the Marshall pack. They did a great job with them 🤘😁🤘
Really nice music in your vid. Original tracks?
Thank you! Yep, for the demos, I write my own material to showcase what can be done with the plugin.
seems like a nobrianer. for 80 dollars it is super packed compared to stuff like Neural DSP. I just wish I could go back and by the Amp Room to get these updates for free, and now I need to buy everything
For sure! I think the metal suite is a great starting point and pretty comprehensive for getting most tones, especially since you get the Marshall jcm 800 with it.
@@TheRealStevenWard do they have a standalone? i usually monitor with standalone while tracking
@6ound Studio that's a good question! They don't at the moment but I hope they have that in the works. I know there's another modular host vst, i think kushview element or maybe cantabile, that you can use in tandem with your DAW to make a workaround for standalone.
@@TheRealStevenWard thanks!
great newsss. Do you if it´s possible to bypass the cabinet section and route out the signal to a real cabinet trough a power amp? Thanks
Yep! Click the circle on the cab icon at the bottom and you can bypass the IR's. Then just route it out to your power amp!
@@TheRealStevenWard awesome! thanks
Excellent upgrade! The cabinet/microphone section has improved a lot and the new Bass Room amps and even more the new guitar Vildsint amp really sounds great!
Some pedals in my opinion still need to be improved, I eg. hardly can hear too many similarities between the ODR and my own, real SD-1, sorry.
But the rest really has improved. Alternatively I still am waiting for an option, to additionally load external vst's for eg. different (better sounding) pedal and fx plugins, this also could solve this problem, I think.
Nevertheless with this upgrade meanwhile a really good sounding and working system.
still allot of S going on for a company calling themselves rock n roll scientist, they are more less nazis if they cant back it up...
you need to switch to studio mode for a glimpse and editing a number of things in a chain and you ant in suite mode.
I have this and some Neural DSP stuff. See you've moved on from Neural. This stuff seems great.
Are all the different suites separate purchases? I say this as I seem to have all the packs in ilok.
Glad to see you found my channel! The suites are separate purchases but if you already had amp room and amp room Marshall, you should already have basically everything. If they're in your ilok, just open up the softube installer app and download the update. Should work from there.
@@TheRealStevenWard Many thanks for all you do for the community and glad you have had opportunity to recharge 👍
If I want the Marshall suite I need the amp room first?
Amp Room will come with any of the suites so all you'll need to purchase is the Marshall suite
Looks and sounds great. I feel this has aped Neural's gui and for the better. One big drawback to Suite view is that you are limited to three pedals pre and three pedals post. This is really very limiting and forces you to use Studio view to add more pedals, this in effect makes Suite view redundant if you use lots of pedals. I realise that this would mean scrolling along the pedal signal path and it being more intense on GPU but I'd take that to be able have more pedals in Suite view. This if anything hobbles the use of Suite view. If possible could you pass this feedback onto Softube, sorting this restriction would take this to the next level? Cheers Jay
Thanks for your feedback! -Stefan (Softube)
Whats The Brand Name Of That Tape Echoes?
That's also from Softube. It's separate from the suites
what is the name of the introduction song?
Is this a standalone app or does it require a daw?
It requires a DAW but you can get something like kushview element, which is free, to host it making it a pseudo-standalone plugin.
@@TheRealStevenWard appreciate it
@@EJH-jn6mo its 2023, please get a Mac
@@OfficialFatLip I have a Mac. This has nothing to do with my OS genius.
this rocks i erased amp room due to glicthes but got tit again and does it ever kick ass!
como agrego el preset?
Here ya go! ruclips.net/user/shortspxZ7ZSA7oH4
you should tell softube to get user end modifiable pedals amps and cabs as well as allowing 3rd party plugins to load inside amp room or the cabs on a channel strip of your daw.
thall
Thall 🤘😁🤘
TBH, the latest update I find bad to navigate. the old version was better.
the installation is horrible
