No1. Have the desire to speak & pray in tongues...
I had it for a very long time for the years I had been in salvation before I got it. I got 2 syllables like a baby and faithfully used and mix with languages of Understanding (English, mother tongue,etc) even when they would ask if anyone interested in praying in tongues to go to the front to be prayed for- I used not to- I would tell the Holy Spirit (you know my heart it's my desire do it for me as Your Will) why? Most times I didn't feel the peace of assurance to walk to be prayed for- I chose to believe where I was. Then in 5 months before I had a dream of a woman of God telling me that whatever you're praying for God Has Given you.
In December 2019 during the 40th day (sunday) of 40 days of Glory in our church, during the worship time I felt heat sensation, I did sweat alot and my tongue was beginning to utter some syllables not done before & so I decided to let it loose and behold I began speaking in other languages without repeating syllables (that was my desire too- to be like a conversation Ps 37:4)
It has been on until to date- what I am desiring is Holy Spirit to teach me to understand it further & be deeper...
There are times I don't feel like praying so I'm like Holy Spirit as I utter in tongues strengthen my spirit even if it's for few mins that's it. He Takes over. I noticed He Is a gentleman- will not force you but is very willing for you to desire Him & give Him your space- I'm still learning this aspect...
It is very very possible to be given this gift.
Please note: God Does it differently to different individuals; some got on the same day they gave their lives to Christ, others few weeks or months in their journey with God, others like me several years in salvation--- so it's all about God and Trust His Word that He Will Do it.
I hope my response will encourage you & othets to desire more and come back with a testimony of having received it. God Bless.
You can pray by faith and receive the baptism of the holy Spirit or go to a senior believer or your pastor for you to be ministered to.
