Okay, I’m in LOVE with this thing! Thanks for the recommendations!
We love them too! We just had a shoot where we had our crew manning 5 blackmagic rigs for 12 hours of filming. With that kind of length we made sure each crew member had an EasyRig. It's definitely a game changer especially on long shoots. Our crew loved it!
Still loving this thing?
You say you don't necessarily need it upfront, but I'm building my rig, and... I don't think I can even use the beast for more than 5 minutes! Don't know if I should go shoulder rig or just plunk down for one of these. (Also wondering about cheap brands...)
Also, late saying this, because I saw this video a long time ago, but these things were so dorky looking to me, thanks for somehow making them seem halfway cool (and of course professional). Great informative video!
Thanks for a great video and TEST FOOTAGE! that was nice to see.
I would love to see some more test footage of you walking with the rig, and side by side comparison with some other rigs you have.
it's like having steady hand held footage... without killing your back... a must buy! keep'em coming homie!
Heck yeah!! And will do!!
Great advice, thanks very much 😁😁😁
Thank you for your kind words Chris!
Thanks for making an awesome product! If you ever need a new product tester, let me know!
Just started using this on a music video shoot this week- I’m a huge fan! If you are doing long format recording or documentaries it’s a must for cinema cams. Always remember it’s not a gimble and you will need to adjust the wobbles in post - Awesome review and greetings from Toronto!
Spot on!! Much love from South Mississippi!
Hey Chris! Just found your page, from your talking head setup to charisma to knowledge you've got it! Subbed!
Thank you so much Brady! I've watched a couple of your videos and your stuff is crazy helpful!! Hopefully I can offer some sense of value to you or your audience in the future!
Still so in love with your studio light setup, you really nailed it 😊 Great tip to consider once again 👍
Thanks so much!!!
Good stuff Brotha. I’ve been in the market for one BADLY!! Good to see it’s a work horse
It looks dope! Thanks
Nice review, I'm glad I found you through the Pixel & Lens Visuals Club. Happy to see you mention the need to stabilize the camera when walking. So many people leave out the fact that the EasyRig transfers hip motion to the camera.
Hey! I love the P&L Club! So many great people in there! Glad I could help!!
Great video Chris. I just rented an EasyRig for a gig I've got coming up. I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks bro! And you're going to love it! So much fun!
Example footage is fantastic. Such a natural look
Thank you so much!
Really enjoying your videos mate.
So glad to hear!!
As usual a really good video, I do struggle a bit with the weight of my camera rig during work, so this is something I will definitely keep in mind
Thank you so much! But YES! Definitely do look into it, maybe rent one and test it out! I love it!
I just got one last week! Amazing for long shoots!
Heck yeah! This thing will save your back!
Loving this video!!!
Much love bro!!
Mini max is a piece of gear I would never swap out (unless it was for a more comfortable version of the one i've got now.) You are absolutely right, it's one of those pieces of gear that once you've used it you wish you had it earlier. I use mine most with a c100 on a ronin M. Makes that gimbal setup extremely manageable.
Absolutely! Love this thing!!
Thanks Chris, great vid!
Thanks!!
@@ChrisFranklinJr you're welcome mate, on the way to get one of those too sooner or later, maybe a cheaper one from another company to start 😉
I'm convinced. Getting an easyrig
Hi Chris - nice vid. You may have convinced me to get one of these things. Thanks.
DO IT!!
Well played my man! Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing content dude!
Thank you so much!!
The texture of this video, its something else!! What lens are you using? Nice color too!
Thanks!! And For most of the footage here, I used the Sigma 18-35mm F/1.8!
That was great! I’m getting one
So worth it!!
Awesome gave me Chills on the Passage Video AMEN Brother🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Chris, as a point of interest my initial build tipped the scales at 15lbs 10oz and the EasyRig held it. I did have to twist the knob way to the right, but in a short 15 minute test it seemed to work. For everyone else the weight limit is supposed to be 15lbs 4oz.
Thanks for that!! I've had a couple of people ask me!
🔥 bro!
LET'S GO DUDE!!
Okay, now I am sold on Easyrig, my back will send you a thank you!
I've used an easyrig and I agree it's good IF you are planning on holding the camera constantly. If you're like me shooting photos and video and need to put the camera down and grab something it's a pain to take it on and off.
Most definitely! And yeah, it's much more useful if you are ONLY shooting video!
I do the same thing with a gimbal arm in the galaxy dual vest but sometimes instead of the gimbal I just attach the camera using a clamp and boom.
BRUH. I need this in my life.
This thing is awesome!! 10/10 from me!
i like your content, keep it up bro.
Thanks!!
Andre.
Thanks for the review love your passion. Since getting the a7siii, have you used it with your easyrig? I am interested in the minimax stabil light for stable walking footage using ibis (active) in the a7siii vs a gimbal. I have not seen any videos using the easyrig with a hybrid camera with steady shot. Have you tried the easyrig with the a7siii as an alternative to using a gimbal?
Definitely saving up for this. It sucks the version for women is way more expensive than your link. Great video and keep going!
I saw! Kinda wild! But 10/10 would recommend!!
This makes me want to buy this right now! Btw, what matte box are you using there? I didn't see an affiliate link here for it.
Haha this is the Polar Pro Basecamp! They don't sell it on amazon! But you can get it through B&H or directly from PolarPro! This thing is incredible!
We all float down here 🎈
Hey Chris, thanks for sharing. Do you have a gear list with links to share? Specifically your entire cage system details - from the adaptors and connectors and every other nitty gritty important detail in between. Love your setup. Inspiring content, thank you.
Sorry I'm so late! But this is the only one so far! ruclips.net/video/gnx2JXXf4LA/видео.html
I also have a gear case tour!
@@ChrisFranklinJr thanks!
Hi awesome video, I just received my easyrig mini max with stabil light arm, I understand that the top arm needs to be in the “middle” balance holding the gimble+camera, but what about the back knob that controls the rope tension, what is the proper amount of tension of the rope? Are you supposed to let the rope be loose enough so the camera drops slightly? Or super tight? please help and thank you
My wrists and fingers click and crack like crazy after years of using a canon c300 and filming long ass takes handheld all day long multiple days in a row. I fucking needed one of these yesterday lol I’m definitely copping. Thank you for the review
I really want this for weddings. Does it feel like its compact or will i be annoyed by trying to manuever through a small groom orep room without bumping into stuff?
🔥🔥🔥
I will buy this for sure! Is there a way to attach it to my a7iii with gimbal and Atomos Inferno?
With a gimbal, I am not sure! The rig relies on the clamp so you may be able to get it to work!
Well I hope you went to the march and got some footage with this thing.
Soon! Hadn't had a chance to yet!
ok what's up with that project at the end...what's the 411 :-). I know I'm old...
I need an update on this equipment fam
Love your videos might need a LUT at 5:43 area is this raw footage what kind of camera thanks for the review
Sharp eyes, I actually accidentally left this area ungraded but didn’t know until AFTER the upload! Thankfully it isn’t too bad haha. And we filmed this on the BMPCC 6k!
@@ChrisFranklinJr didn’t want to look like a hater sorry to point it out
@@LaRobertos not at all!! I enjoy it, helps me stay sharp! Thanks!!
Love the way you transitioned into the video with the Wholeeee Sh..... / Beat dope (crazy good)
Glad you liked it!! I was honestly pretty proud of it! Lol
How easy was setup? Maybe you could do a setup video and balancing tricks. I use the top battery handle on my tilta rig, so I don't have a heavy battery to balance out my rig. I'll have to get creative to put the center of mass more towards the middle of the rig.
Ahhh, Makes sense! But setup is crazy easy, the top pole snaps into place, and you just clamp it to the handle! Maybe you could put your handle on backwards to shift the center of gravity more forward!
Oh I'm about to float! The shoulder rig with the BM6K is way too heavy for all day shoots. Looks like this would also be great to eventually shoot with a Ronin attached to it.
Yeah I came to the same conclusion, this is definitely the way to go!
@@ChrisFranklinJr Safe to assume the Easyrig Minimax supports the weight of the Ronin-M plus your setup (as shown in this vid)?
I just wanna know how many black hoodies you own😂 love your content!
ALL THE BLACK HOODIES!! Just got two new ones in! 😂
@@ChrisFranklinJr 😂👌🏼
Great video! Does the top part of the post dig into your upper back? Cause I bought a cheap Chinese one man and that pole pushed so much into the upper center of my spine that I had back pain after using it. And I'm afraid to use it because I don't want to hurt myself. Thanks
Not at all!! It's really comfortable!!
cool video
I think you sold us :) good review.
It's such a helpful peace of gear!!
Chris, I also ordered the 16x9 Kong Quick Release Adapter for Easyrig with 3/8"-16 Eyebolt from B&H. Can you tell me how secure you felt your rig was with the standard clip provided?
The standard clip feels pretty secure even though it's just a standard tension mount. I did find that if you camera is not well balanced then the handle could slowly slip over time!
@@ChrisFranklinJr Thanks Chris! My guess is that I will just attach the Kong then. To make 100% sure :p I might wait a week or so as I have also ordered a Crane 3S and I just know there has to be a way to use the MiniMax, the Crane 3S and my BMPCC 6K. Somehow.
Great investment.
One of the best!
I just ordered one this morning. Great timing! One question I have. It's rated for 15lbs. How do you think it would do with 18lbs? Total loss of support, or 15lbs of support with the other 3lbs something to carry?
NICE!! And I personally think you could do it! You will have to tighten the tension knob pretty high but even though your rig is heavier it may still take some of the weight off you hands!
@@ChrisFranklinJr Thanks. Once I get everything in-house I'll start doing youtube videos so others can see. Your videos have been inspirational and I have learned a lot watching them!
@@Justin_Allen Do it!! Can't wait to see what you create! And thank you so much! I hope to teach and inspire as much as I can!
@@ChrisFranklinJr As an FYI, my Easyrig came in today and while my rig is not yet fully built out...WOW! It just floats there. The instructions are a bit sparse, but it's also pretty simple as well.
@@Justin_Allen Congrats!! And yeah, thankfully it's not too hard to figure out haha!
Any thoughts on the flycam knock offs on amazon?
I was originally gonna get one, but when I looked at the reviews they just told me to spend the extra money and get the Easyrig!
Hey small Questionen. Can i still use it while walking or would it be even worse than without?
It can get very bouncy if you are not careful! It's probably still better than without, but nowhere near better than a gimbal!
Probably a great buy. Shoulder rigs are bad for bodies. If the camera is too heavy for handheld operation it probably is too heavy for the shoulder too.
Yeah I found that out really fast! Haha
Do you have a list of items for that shoulder rig?
Here in this description! ruclips.net/video/reVPQYPa6Hc/видео.html
@@ChrisFranklinJr Thanks man. Love your vids. Anyone ever tell you that you look like Von Miller with those glasses?
Ok I got the rig but cannot see how to pull the string down. Could we have some operating instructions? Thx
Really? Try loosening the tension knob on the back and then pull the grip down. It's pretty tough!
@@ChrisFranklinJr I'm sorry. I was afraid of breaking the string since I paid so much for it...lol. Love your videos!!!!!
Haha all good! And thank you so so much!! 😭🙌🏾
can you link your mask? I have similar but need a new :D
Just updated the description!
@@ChrisFranklinJr thanks. Its the same what i want to order now. Good to see at a real person. Looks safe and comfortable as it can be. :D
@@eszesfilms1651 10/10 would recommend it! It's been my favorite so far!
Why dont you collor grade your footage?
I do most of the time! Nothing dramatic, but I forgot in this video
i wish i knew about this years ago
Mo sent me. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ayyye!! Welcome!
Ooouuu (Young MA voice)
YUHHHHH!!
Your assistant never operated a camera before...😅😅😅.
Nope!! I am pretty much teaching a person from the ground up so I can help explain things better here on RUclips or teach better!
Easy rig vs crane 3s
You got it! Will work on that video asap!
Now imma help you with one more step. Get the ring for your handle. Thank me later.
im curious now haha what ring mate?
If only there was something else that was able to pan and tilt without giving shaky footage
I have read that you can hang a gimbal on this, too.
This thing might be necessary for someone like me, 5'2", 112 pounds.
Haha most definitely!! It works wonders!
