I just got back from Mallorca a couple of weeks ago and fell off going around a roundabout in the wet. The old polished road surfaces are so slippery in damp/wet conditions. On my last day in the monutains there were accidents everywhere as everyone thinks they are Tom Pidcock. Glad to see that everyone was OK.
Firstly, glad that Bryn is ok, heal well buddy. Got to say this is really well put together by you and Johnny, one of the best Sa Colabra vids I’ve seen. Bye the way I’ve been fortunate to have been there for two single weeks in the last couple of months. Had some great rides as always based at PP.
No! Don't let me put you off! As long as you take the lesson on board and descend with care, you will be fine. I'm sure you'd have a great time on a MTB, but Mallorca is made for road bikes!
Been riding/guiding here 12 years, living for 7; it cannot be overstressed just how slippery the 'old' surface is in the wet. You can see all the damp patches in the the corners, so you're going from high grip to very low grip in fractions of a second. The old surface is light grey with a hint of brown and has a very high stone / tarmac ratio (to prevent melting in the heat). These stones get polished and it's then like riding on a tiled bathroom floor. Almost like ice. We tend to avoid the hills completely if we think it could be damp. The newer surfaces are much better and have a higher tarmac content, but these are still not yet so widespread. Be careful !!!!.
How did you get the bikes back ? We were there in September two of our group ended up doing col de reis by mistake LOl then went down at the at top not realising as it was there first trip up there

You're not wrong!
Alles Gute weiterhin. War ebenfalls dort vor zwei Wochen von Alcúdia aus.

Dear oh dear! Once Bryn was in the ambulance, Tom was able to get a taxi down to collect them. They were probably in there no more than 45 minutes.
