As a big Hoss wheel hoe user, I have often thought of their dedicated seeder. I have the seeder attachment for my wheel hoe and it has a "plow" in front of the chute, were the seeds fall. My issues have been that sometimes the seeds get caught in pairs and do not fall thru the chute. I use a lot of pelleted seeds for small seed plants, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, etc. Secondly, I have rocky soil, and this is a problem for the fixed plow. I think Hoss addressed this problem when they developed their dedicated seeder with the "coulter" type plow. I would love to hear of any comments about their Hoss seeder.
Enjoy watch your video about the bcs walk behind tractor. it is informative and insightful. And is also helpful when they are shown being used in real-world experiences.

Could be used for cereals, yes, if you are happy with the row spacing. The R2 drop-seeder has drop-plates that will allow it to space "rows" at 1.25", 2.5" or 5" apart, though, so you can get better row density with that. However, the R2 does not singulate seed as well, as it is just a drop-type seeder.
I've used mine to plant buckwheat. I have the older shoe type opener model for the wheel hoe. Small pea plate for the buckwheat. I'm not sure you'll like it for oats or other cerals though as the plates have circular holes. I imagine you'd have the same issue I have trying to plant parsnip. The light odd shaped seed doesn't fit any plate well and don't drop into the plate well. Also light seed (brassicas) tend to get sucked up into the brushes. Don't get me wrong the hoss is a good economical seeder, much better than the earthway, which I also have. It shines with larger seeds like beans (though hoss doesn't offer a plate to fit the large butterbeans like Burpees Improved). Easy enough fix if you have a drill press, blank plate and template.
How difficult is it to drive this unit straight when running with the handlebars offset? I ask because when running the tiller offset I sometimes find it difficult to keep the machine running straight.
I have the g110 14 hp subaru and with the rotary plow its a breeze, I have the 40 inch mower and even on a hillside up against a fence it is fairly easy to operate in the offset position.

Neat but... Tool bar $250 Coupler $50 Individual seeder $250 X 4 units $1,000 Total before taxes and freight $1,300. I’d rather walk the row 4 times than pull out a two wheeler. I don’t know of a time where I would ever need to plant multiple 30” beds at the same time. Most of the time it’s flip a bed and harvest another. I have enough issues getting one seeder to run smooth 😂

Does this work well for larger bean and corn seeds, or just the small seeds?
Good job Joel...I'm following this Hoss partnership with interest. Love my Hoss wheel hoe and implements!

Could these be used for cereals? Or perhaps the Rinaldi drop seeder?

It is easier to keep "straight" when you have something with STRAIGHT WHEELS on the rear, like this seeder.
You guys should start filming in higher res. Real grainy
