How can anyone not love Jim Henson and his puppet creations? One of my favorite Christmas movies is Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas.

While I'm an animator, I have mad respect towards puppeteers and stop-motion animators! Physical medium is far more challenging than digital medium, so I have a degree of imposter syndrome as I fiddle with my digital puppets.

Jim Henson was definitely a genius, his Muppets were loved by both Kids and adults which is something you don't see too much of anymore, but I find it 😥 that the Muppets aren't the way they used to be because a black and tan rat took a dump on them 😥😪.

@@spongeycraftstudios4371 I know right, I remember watching some of the newer Muppet movies and it wasn't the Muppets. there was this feeling of Garvin, sadness, and depression that the Muppets gave out. it's. like they were trying to fix the Muppets, but the Muppets were never broken to begin with, in other words if it's not broken don't fix it. they should have retired the Muppets after Jim Henson passing.

The Dark Crystal is so good. It’s beautiful to look at and just wonderfully weird and different. If you like the movie, then be sure to check out the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. It’s a prequel to he events of the movie. Again, visually stunning and they used actual puppets instead of going the CGI route.

A few helpful pieces of information:
Foxy the Fox is from Atlanta's local puppet series, _Woody Willow_ . He was one of the villains opposing Woody, who was markedly similar to Howdy Doody.
Wayland Flowers' "Madam" puppet actually got her own TV series.
Brad is Bert's nephew, son of Bert's brother Bart.
Roosevelt Franklin was voiced by Matt Robinson, the person who played Gordon for the first three seasons... so, regardless of being purple, he _sounded_ black.
The wolf puppet was from Al Schnupp, whose puppet play, _Stone Circle_ , was performed at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
See that can from Wilkins Coffee in the recreation of Jim Henson's workshop? Wilkins Coffee had a series of commercials that gave the Muppets their first big break in television, starting in 1957. Not bad for ten-second ads.
Doozer body makeup could also be called "touchup paint". The heads had a shorter lifespan, so it was the bodies that needed extra care.
