    I also got same results with Vickers. In the trash it went. Ghost inc is true plus 2.

    Good video, but if I buy a base-plate advertising +2 I expect NO LESS than 8 rounds. From Glocks intro and offering of the G42 and G43, their staggered single stack mags have been a world of problems that extends to the Aftermarket as well. As said, Glock-FAILED here as length was more important than function. I have both platforms and have gone thru a lot and expense finding a simple means to extend a round count when I wanted it. My process finally lead me to just reduce the height of the OEM FOLLOWER by using a simple 100-grit sandpaper. Now I load 7-rounds in an OEM flat base mag for the G42. Doing the same resulted in an easier load of that 6th round in the G43 version “02” (increased-spring gage plus one more coil) mag and which allowed a 7th round with a Pierce Plus 1 extension WITHOUT JAMMING THE CLOSED SLIDE. To date, found no aftermarket base to provide a Plus-2. I also run ETS-7 flat and/or pinky extension. Even then, I had to shave/reduce Follower lengths. Glock has really blown it with both of these platforms

    Seems like maybe vickers took your input at some point... it seems some have this problem and some don't, I bought all mine at different points so I don't know the previous part #s but my newly purchased have a bit of play on the 8th round

    Can you use the Glock spring with the vickers baseplates?

    HOW DO THEY WORK AS A 7 ROUND MAG AND DO THEY HOLD UP LONG TERM

    My Vickers +2 has flex in it just like your G17/20 mags do. Maybe it is how you installed the plate and spring.

      Same, mine load 8 and have perfect wiggle room. 100% reliable though I only put about 50 rounds through it so far.

    I have a g22 with a 2 round extension had the same problem so I filled with 17 rounds hit the mad release so I have I round in chamber and 16 in magazine.. food for thought

    They are perfect for backups ...if your loading them with a open slide it's no problem you feed the first one and then the other 7 feed fine. This issue is more common than you'd expect. Happens with quite a few 45acp pistols when you go from 7 to 8 shots. So you don't go +1 with the 8 shot mags

    I had that same issue with Pierce plus 1. Fully loaded you only seat the mag with the slide open. Thanks for an honest review 😎

    You might have installed the spring a little off? My springs have a little wiggle with 8 rounds loaded.

  • @tacratt6091
    @tacratt6091 5 лет назад +3

    Mine loads 8 rounds with no problem, still have as much travel as the factory mags, I’ve heard some people use the factory spring in the +2 with good results. Mine have worked fine for me from Vickers.

  • @victorparadise5878
    @victorparadise5878 4 года назад

    I had the exact same experience. It’s not an installation issue. It’s definitely a tight fit to the point of question.

  • @irishdefense77
    @irishdefense77 2 года назад

    This has to do with the fact that you just installed them.The springs need a week or so to take a set.You’ll find they work much better and can be left loaded indefinitely without issue.
    One other thing.You should have dedicated magazine pouch to carry a spare mag or two.The reasons for this are well documented so I shouldn’t have to tell you-consistency in reloading is the most important one though.

    You must be using the factory base plate you don’t need it any more take it out and only use the one victors has on the spring

    Use it as a reload, on slide lock it will work fine

    Yea mine has a good push-down when fully loaded it didn’t at first but after loading it a couple times it’s perfect and it has ran ammo though my little 43 Flawlessly I’m still shocked that it’s so good for only 14-bucks! If I had more factory glock mags to spare I’d extend as many as I could I also have the NDZ +2 (Aluminum?) (with a factory glock mag) and have had No issues what so ever. And Has anybody else bought glock 43 mags lately and there’s No metal in the inner and front of the magazine? (Factory glock 43 magazine) I’ve ordered three from three deferent well known places glock factory magazines and no metal lining. I’m scared to try and buy anymore magazine’s now I’m afraid they’ll say glock just like the others and I’ll peek inside and no steel just plastic and some weird real thin metal with I guess it’s glue all over it?

    I tested my G43 set up earlier today with 3 magazines. Two of the magazines have the +2 Vickers extensions, the 3rd is the OEM flush mag. Both magazines with the "plus 2" extensions caused failures to feed/cycle on two occasions back to back. I will definitely be using these magazine extensions as +1's. 7+7+7=21 rounds total on the body... I can live with that.

  • @BigEarz85
    @BigEarz85 6 лет назад +7

    I haven't been keeping an exact count, but I'd say I've put at least 150 rounds through a magazine with this extension on it (probably closer to 200+). While I had the same issue initially with the lack of give in the spring on that eighth round, now it's not a problem. There is actually the proper amount of give in the spring similar to an OEM mag that's been topped off. Haven't had any issues with feeding either.

      I just grabbed 6 of these for just over $9 and I ran into the problem as stated in the video. Reading your message here I have a bit more confidence and will therefore be patient and put the pistol with extensions through their paces first. Thanks to TheGearTester and BigEarz85.

    I use the ETS 7 round mags with the vickers +2 as a backup,the spring that comes with it makes them reliable....I’ve got about 350 rounds on my g43 no issues

    Pretty good review...except for the only thing that matters: you did not actually show shooting results. Did you actually shoot the Glock with the magazine and what were the results? We don't know.

    I never load my mags into my guns with the slide closed. Does it function just fine with the slide locked back and then slammed into battery?

    I heard that was normal even with stock glock mags my oem with glock plus 2 on my glock 27 did the same thing, still functioned fine, was just hard as hell to rack normally

    Awesome review, thank you for doing it. Also had a question, could you try installing a mag guts follower & spring to see if it would help putting the 8 rounds in the vickers mag.

  • @joshuaalbarran9217

    Did you actually have a malfunction even by running your mag set up in that way or was this all just a "what if" review?

  • @kruzanJFD
    @kruzanJFD 6 лет назад +1

    Can you load 7, insert mag, load chamber, drop mag, add two rounds, 7 and 8, load magazine? Also you need to make sure the base plate is in correctly and perfectly flat.

  • @bma8013
    @bma8013 5 лет назад +2

    Just bought one of these today, made sure everything was seated properly, then cycled the spring 10 times with a ruler. 8 rounds fit just fine, mag seats with the same effort as the stock one.
    Are you sure you seated everything correctly?

    • @bma8013

      Actually on second thought... Did you happen to put the factory magazine insert back in? It’s not suppose to go back in.

    Taran is not affordable but on other hand i rather pay more and really get a plus 2 . Plus 2 huge in a gun that only holds 6.

    If you want 7 and 8 buy a shield. Want six then a G43 is perfect. Want more? Buy a 26. Easy.

      Damian Walters why does somebody always mention shield ,if we wanted a shield we would have bought .

      True. It was an opinion. Nothing more nothing less. We are human irrationality is acceptable. Buy a g43 and try to turn it into a 8-10 round gun. Sounds fun.

      Glock reliabilty i guess, idid it but i see point why buy a gun swap out sights,extend capacity. Makes no sence, just liked glock, trusting my life to it. I spent 1000 on a junkass kimber solo cdp, i cant get to function or get good extra mags for. So yes maybee i needed to trust a brand this time ,took no chances. Feel sorry for anyone who got caught in kimbers trap.

      I bought a Glock 43 and added Taran Tactical baseplates to make it 8+1. I get the capacity I want and the Glock reliability. Best of both worlds. For a price of course....
