I get that they work in CQB. CQB always has more "youngsters" who just will not accept the bang or tap rule. "you gotta shoot me bro". Well sigh, if I had only known I would have dumped my mag on the back of your head, guess I'll take the hit while I'm standing here in awe. They need the placebo effect of a toy knife, because their iron skin perk nullifies my judo chop and only a mythril blade forged by the master dwarves will penetrate their defenses. In fact I should get a fairy wand for CQB and chain lightning a whole room. Man I'm bitter D: but the number of times I've been told my stealth kills don't count...
The group I used to play with had the rubber K-bars that they use for training Military personal, although it was more for having knife fights while everyone else was readying their gear. I have one too, because it’s more satisfying to get that melee kill than to say “bang bang”. As for the kids who say “you should have shot me!”, thats when you step back 15 feet and out 2 in the body and then 1 on the forehead
Honestly, the main appeal for training/dummy knives in airsoft are twofold for me. 1) Rule of tacti-cool. Looks darn cool to see the sheath and the hilt sticking out strapped to some gear. 2) As someone with fidgety hands I would think it would be nice to have something to twirl and fiddle with between games. I don't see myself getting stealthy enough to ever really get the chance to use them all that often for practicality to be on there.
The Gurks are an ethnic group living in the area of Nepal and northern India, named after Hindu soldier-saint Guru Goraknat. They are best known for serving as tenants in the Indian Army (Gurk Regiment) and the British Army (Gurkov Brigade).
Just a quick correction, the Tomahawk is called the TS- BLACK HAWK EVO, not the TS- BLACK WIDOW ( That's the Karambit) Also the knife holster DOES in fact fit the larger HUNTSMAN knife. Its quite tight, but we were told from TS blades themselves, that it is designed to fit tight with similar retention to a kydex holster.
Whole hearted support for the use of training and rubber knives for airsoft. I train with a karambit for actual use, and use it for airsoft all the same. Training games and private games are all the better when an actual knife kill is the only way to circumvent the "hit" shout, as hand touching don't count.
Tbh, I used to have one but stopped carrying it around because I just found shooting people up close is far less ambiguous than a tap. Depends on field rules though if mercies or knives have some sort of advantage.
To be honest yes in my opinion, I'd love to have a training combat axe to use in airsoft not only is it asteaticly pleasing it would also be awsome to get melees in there too
I like the idea of bringing training blades to airsoft fights. One thing some Filipino martial artists do with their training blades is to put some felt with lipstick on the edge. Any contact would gets pretty obvious. Anyway silent kills definitely has a place and I’d rather have these in game than bang bang kills when MEDs are necessary.
I've done a few games with the "tacknife unlock" where I had a standard rubber bowtie knife and my p99 with suppersor, I maybe got 6 stealth kills thanks to the lads I play with using a "when ya dead ya dead" rules (anyone who dosent know, that means you stop talking and either stay in place for a round or walk back quietly to reapawn ) was really useful in the sneaky cqb
Just my own 2 cents, but I think that the airsoft community is limiting itself by only utilizing traditional modern guns. It has alot more potential than just that, and imo training knives are more than ok.
They should have a place because it allows for a play styles involving training can give the game a feel close enough to combat training for young players that might want to be law enforcement or military when they get old enough or for those who just run combat simulations and make feel like a call of duty style larp event or something like that for fun of it.
The black training knives will still hurt if someone gets over zealous and jabs with it. So they should all be blunt tip just in case. That's why the toy ones are perfect b/c they are so thin or foam. Also would love the option to throw knives or axes. And yes you need a melee weapon to get someone out, not just tapping them with your hand. But then again you could just "bang kill" with your gun. Honestly if you want include melee like that, go all melee, no airsoft guns and it would be full on LARP lol...
Well, it depends. One of my local sites has no bang kills, and if you're too close to someone you have to ask them to surrender (which they can choose to not accept at which point you can shoot them) or you can knife kill them. It sounds worse than it actually is though.
A question due to site rules close by. How far does the blade bend comfortably? So sites near me require a 90 degree bend on the blade to be safe to use.
I've been playing airsoft for many years, and used to use a Halloween prop knife that the ade goes into the handle, as a bayonet for my rifle, and people get upset due to its not "airsoft". The way I see it, your playing a game in tacticool gear playing simulation war, expect to have a knife get used on you for tactical reason. Sneaking and stealth are a way to complete the objective and not alerting other enemies by firing your airsoft gun is a tactical choice. Not all airsoft games are "speedball" and if your in the wooded environment, using camouflage and stealth kills are some times required. People use prop ballistic shield and smoke grenades, why not knives and axes... I kinda don't see a practical use for a sword on an airsoft field, but if you play war, expect people to play their versions of war and to some, that's stealthily to secure or capture the objective. If I used a knife, I expect others to do the same, if you can afford a microgun or minigun, expect others to use the same, as long as it's not against the rules of the field, I'm all for all formats of simulated combat techniques.
Actually krambit is originally found in indonesia and malaysia . They were use in silat not in farming but there is we call sabit its a large krambit that use for farming

Do training knives have a place in airsoft? Big Yes! Even if you dont always draw it out incase of a knife kill, id say it completes the loadout and adds to the immersion. A player without a knife in his or her loadout shouldnt be allowed to "knife" kill another player :)
Even though you shouldn't throw these at other players, I can only imagine how satisfying it would be to get a kill by throwing one of the kunai or the tomahawk.
