Some of the hats for sure, she might of made her own clothes at one time but with the fairy whatever her name is interview, Chilla said she found a designer she loves who does her costumes. Chilla has to have some decent income because those designers are not cheap.

I was watching an interview of Ren's the other day and when he mentioned that he felt like Chinchilla was basically his artistry twin, I totally see it in this video because she is so diverse. THIS is my favourite Chinchilla song. I can't say it's better than Fingers live because my god, Fingers live is an unbelievable performance. But *song* - I adore this one. I play it regularly (whereas Fingers I only ever watch if I find a reaction to it on RUclips cuz I can't resist watching people's minds get blown). And I love the video, it suits the song & her vocals perfectly somehow! Stripped down but simultaneously opulent. Like, WHAT? How is that even a THING, and how did she nail it so hard?

I saw an interview where she was talking about mixing and how she decides where to double up the vocals or add a new dynamic. It's just incredible to me how much both her and Ren do to create what they create, and at the level they do. This kind of quality puts the labels to shame. When you think about how many millions the labels spend on writers, producers, mixers, recording studios, videography, editing... these awesome creators are doing all of that themselves on a tiny budget and producing work that's easily comparable or even better than a lot of the crap being produced by labels today.

I discovered Ren and Chin’s music at the same time. These 2.. on their own are insanely talented.. we are playing checkers and they are playing 4 dimensional chess. Its been a long time since I saw artists that just make me instantly listen to every song they have written and when finished realize that every song is amazing. Even some of the grestest artists or bands have released clunkers.. it happens.. as Ren would, “we are all human”. Except Ren and Chjn.. there is no way they are human.. impossible. I think if you cut them open, instead of blood you would see musical notes, sounds, lyrics, never ending ideas all fall to the ground. And what I love about them is they extremely humble. For them, sure they want to make lots of money.. but not at the expense of not just the music but the message and videos. They are independent artists and will still be able to have a career and make enough to not just cover the bills. They both sing about lows and highs. Ms Swift just sings about ex boyfriends, her besties and the rest is fluff. Please don’t let the Swifties find Chin or Ren. It would be the death of them.

I found this song on my first deep dive into the depths of her work . It impressed me and I have never thought it should be classified as just a lyric video , the song itself is also underrated, her use of the elements to describe herself coupled with the humor of her lyrics is brilliant,
The other songs everyone has slept on is Cold Water ,there is a live version of a performance at an award ceremony of this song that is stunning .
Also one you may not play because of your American sensibility on language is FK This Up with NEOP which is gentile wistful love ballad duet also brilliant.
Keep digging the Chinchilla mine there are more brilliant gems to be had .
Chinchilla is a delightful surprise, like a box of chocolates you never know what you will get ,but you know the quality is always there.

I think this is brilliant. She's way too vibrant and clearly present to fit the term "elegant", which I guess I had always subconsciously, until your comment, teamed with an idea such as subtle.
But gaudy is also not quite right, as that typically is reserved for negatively describing tasteless, or tacky ostentatiousness (at least in England), and there is a distinctive style that somehow embodies smart and free simultaneously.
But those two descriptors in conjunction perfectly encapsulate how Chinchilla presents herself. She is one of those people who march to their own beat, in a very clearly expressed way. I think it is something that causes people's curiosity to be piqued, it's very compelling.

Hey Joe E, firefighter/drone videographer here, we've chatted a few times, loved that you did this track, I see so few reactions to it, the first time I heard this I was super new to Chinchilla, didn't know what to think, but now it's one of my favorite songs by her.
As always loved your breakdown, and it really gave me hope that I might have a knack for this, because long before I ever saw your reaction, my favorite part of the video, from a filming aspect, was the chair scene where you can see her pants with the thick pin stripes and the chunky shoes. I had no idea why until you mentioned it. I mean, I know nothing about fashion, except I have a couple female friends that say I'm better than some of their gay friends at helping them shop for a new pair of bangin' shoes, not sure if that says more about the quality of her gay friends, or more about my masculinity, but I'll take a compliment where I can get one...lol.
Last thing real quick, how do they get that effect that looks like...well I describe it as almost still image animation, but don't think that's how they do it. Like near the end when Chinchilla is doing the different hand and head movements, it's not fluid, almost like they went in and took out a couple frames periodically, does that make sense? Is that a shooting style or something done in post?? Thanks man!

fantastic review of a fabulous artist.
I think lyric videos are under estimated by artists and video makers because it seems too simple but they can add multiple layers of depth, not just clarification of lyrics because auto closed caption/subtitles are often wrong or cant keep up. Especially with rap and rock with distorted voices really help convey the music. Some of the best lyrics video i seen add facts, jokes aimed at the artist, narrator and topics, references, callbacks and many easter eggs...

I think we all agree Ren is a musical genius. He’s playing 4 dimensional chess and everyone is playing checkers. However, Chinchilla is outer worldly with not only her voice but also with majority of songs talking about womens empowerment and not in a subtle way either.. but in your face. I love the fact she is still independent like Ren because it really does allow artists to sing and say what they want and to express themselves in videos taking lots of risks.
First time seeing this and I LOVE it! Thank you for your review. She needs to be noticed for her individual artistry. To me, she is avant-garde and like noone else due to her lyrics and style. I hope the Voice UK lets her be herself and doesn't try to change her.
