I get the sense that you could read the encyclopedia to patients with your demeanor and tone and they would get healed. You're amazingly equipped to help people in this way. 🙏🏻
Dear Tori, since i dont have a therapist, i guided myself through the emerging arcs, and now im on the otherside of that particular core emotion. And i feel immense relief...! And happiness..! I feel , hey! I can take on life! I dont need to be scared of my emotions anymore. I can guide myself through them, to emerge on the otherside...
That's amazing to hear! It’s incredibly empowering to guide yourself through those deep emotions and come out on the other side feeling relief and happiness. Keep trusting yourself! 💛
Any tips/resources on self guidance? I completed EMDR a year ago and feel quite free of trauma but definitely feel there is more work to do. Just stumbled upon AEDP and want to experiment on my own before committing to another therapy process.
Thanks so much for explaining the process. I completely understand now why my therapist does what she does, and now it makes so much sense. Thanks so much for your videos!
When i discovered it and started using it, it _felt_ too good to be true - and that was just working on my own from Hilary Jacobs Hendel's book on AEDP, 'It's Not Always Depression.' These videos have made me want to see an AEDP therapist.
@@juanjoseredondo2314 It's quite a long time ago that that book came out. I don't think it sold all that well but afterwards I was still always surprised that no one seemed to be talking about its ideas on RUclips, otherwise this endless font of mind hacks and life hacks. Really sad, especially given that so much of the mind hack stuff is about anxiety, yet so badly misses the point. Was very pleased to see Tori turn up with a well-presented, well-produced channel going into these ideas and more in such clarity.
This is so helpful. Everyone needs to learn and understand this. It explains what I felt and the rewarding experience the first time I was able to connect to and be present to a young part of myself prior to which I didn't even know existed. It was amazing. Thank you Dr. Tori. I will be sharing this for sure.
After years of seeing various therapists, I am so grateful that I found a coach who worked with me I’m going into the energy of my emotion. It was a major game changer.
Hey Tori!!! I just found your RUclips channel today and I can’t wait to start psychotherapy today. This video was astronomically helpful and inspiring to watch. Your words, cadence, calmness and patience to explain in detail are so important to me as I am on the spectrum and have a lot of trouble understanding and processing emotions a lot of the time. Healing is going to be so important and beautiful - to me.🌀🌌🌊🌈
I’m so glad you found the channel and that this video was helpful and inspiring for you. It means a lot to hear that the way I explain things resonates with you. I wish you all the best on your journey through psychotherapy and healing 💚
Thank you for describing AEDP. It is something I would try, coming from a CPTSD background. I had the experience of having too many things brought to attention but no space being held. I’m feeling curious about this modality, which is hopeful.
There's some interesting differences in language between the neurobiology of the self, and the spiritual experience of ourselves. I guess the two polars could be between Jung and ideas like the collective unconscious and synchronicity, and David Grand's Brainspotting which really seems to leverage the physiology of the brain. Do you have any ways in which you think about the two?
But it sounds like the therapist could be able to just switch on the compassion and understanding like with a press of a button. He may act like this but can you really like and feel for everybody you encounter?
Lovely, thank you. But I just wanted to say that emotions don't just "flow" through but we have to express them meaningfully in the context of real relationships, in our rela everyday lives, and that's why it's so difficult and messy... to feel and regulate, and express. The relationship with the therapist is kind of real in a way,but also not real.
Working in the here and now is an old practice that goes back to at least the relational turn and object relations. To claim that “coherence therapy” is the only approach that uses it is a straight up lie. Give credit where credit is due

This is so helpful and heartfelt! Can't wait for Episode 3 to tie it to memory reconsolidation!

💜I'm so curious about this. The depth and clarity are so appealing. Almost sounds too good to be true. Guess that's the fear talking. Thank you.💜

What a treat this video is. ♥️
Thank you for sharing your clarity Tori.
Brilliant presentation!
I love all of your videos. Thank you so much.
Thank you, so beautiful! ❤️
I can't find parts 1 or 3.
Just starting the video but the titles and thumbnails are a bit confusing. Just figured out that it’s the AEDP initials that tie the videos together.
Where are you dr olds???? I've binge watched your content and need more 😅❤ thank you
Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad you enjoy my videos. 🧡
can you make a video series on somatic experiencing?
Can you use this and IFS together? Any recommendations?

Sounds similar to somatic work

AEDP sounds more complicated than IFS
Have a drink or change the microphone. Please.
