    I'm so glad susan talked about the rigid view about skincare. Even though I love the FB group, sometimes I feel like some people are a little judgmental about others routine that they will make fun of the bad routines of their friends or family or of fragranced products. And also some are so rigid about skincare like won't make love if they're already done with skincare, they will freak out if they're staying over at someone's or they worry if they missed skincare routine due to being sick. I feel like people need to relax a bit about skincare, it's not end of the world.
    And I do love my products to have a mild fragrance.. Specially any vitamin c serum, otherwise I'll be never able to use it due to the typical vitC smell

    • @juliat9211

      I blame the rigid skincare on cancel culture. This need to have good and bad but nothing in between. Hyram is one of those people, although his intentions aren’t meant to be bad.

      I think it depends on if the product has been opened but not 100% sure because products usually have the label where it shows how many months it's good for once opened. Sunscreens have expiration dates on them. In order to make sure I don't go pass the limit I write the date that I open the product on the bottle.

    I love Alanis!! I love Odacite! I use the oils for sagging skin on my neck/chest and the eye contour for my eyes. I wear glasses and I am required to wear a mask 8 hours of my day, five days a week. It has really, really dried my skin under my eyes and high cheek bone area to the point of flaking and red irritation. I used the Odacite eye contour last night and Biosance Marine Algae eye cream last night and this morning for the first time me eyes were not flaky or dry! My under eye skin area was soft! 🤗

    The Body Shop was the Lush of the 90s for the US 😂. Sidenote I was waiting for Susan to flip out on the washcloth plus how hard she was rubbing. Definitely saw redness... Lol

    I LOOOOVE the Body Shop. Sadly, they are all about "out with the old and in with the new." That Shea line has been my jam for something like 20 years. The Vitamin C line was my first real introduction to real face care.

    As a Hungarian I learnt something new about Hungarian cosmetic products. On confident aging I think a review of Maye Musk's routine would be interesting. Thank you.

    Just FYI - Alanis' video was hard to hear. Like your volume was perfect but then when she spoke I had to turn the volume up a lot. Then you would speak and it would be really loud! So just in the future if you could make the videos you react to louder. Thanks!

    I’m regards to the Dr Bronners and the ph of skin argument, the water we use from the tap to wash our faces and shower our bodies is alkaline as well. Tap water sits at a PH of 7.5-8.5. Meanwhile our skin likes to hang out between 5-6. So either way the soap is not going to make much of a difference when the water we use is alkaline as well 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Is there a simple and inexpensive way to test the ph of your skin? Would simple ph strip work?

    Rosehip oil has a vitamin, but how can it be a substitut for retinol? A vitamin like this is only a antioxidant right???

    • @bshows89
      @bshows89 3 года назад

      So rose hip seed oil contains beta-carotene, which is a precursor to Vitamin A. You're right that this is not active on the skin in the same way as a retinoid. However, rose hip seed oil also contains a small amount of tretinoin, which IS a retinoid. Some in the skincare community feel that this makes rose hip seed oil a gentle alternative to a retinoid, but it's unlikely to be especially beneficial at the concentration which it contains. Having said all that, if your skin is truly intolerant to retinoids, rose hip seed oil might be worth a try.

    Pleeeease do a 90s video, that would be a dream! I’m an ‘87 baby but have an older sister so I was exposed to all the cool 90s teenager stuff. Body Shop vanilla perfume, clean and clear face wash, astringent toners, gap dream body mist, jagged little pill and Mariah Carey’s honey on TAPE! Kurt cobain poster, oversized jeans and flannels (which are coming back now and I couldn’t be happier), Freddie prinze jr, Tupac! Remember the walmart cucumber melon lotion?
