“Sam, Haddenfield is 150 miles away from here. Now for god sakes, he can’t drive a car.” “He was doing very well last night! Maybe someone around here gave him lessons.” Love those lines. Everyone who knows about Michael doubts his intuition, but Loomis is the one man who knows that he is way more than capable.
In the novel, Michael was an invisible force of fear at Smith’s Grove. Many patients and staff suffered violent injuries with no other evidence left by the attacker and Loomis was able to deduce that they had crossed Michael somehow and the environment changed to the point where everyone was tiptoeing around and appeasing to Michael to avoid his unseen wrath. It’s entirely possible he somehow “convinced” a staff member to teach him to drive giving them no reason, only clarifying the consequences if they did not comply.
I noticed last night while watching Halloween 4 that when loomis goes to the hospital towards the beginning to see about Myers you can hear a page for dr Wynn
“I told everybody! Nobody listened” Musta been the things he was saying about Michael & the way he came off. Mighta made it hard for people to take him seriously or to care enough to be extra cautious with Michael
Typical government bureaucrat, trying to pass the blame to Dr Loomis, telling him “if he knew how dangerous Myers was he should have told someone” Loomis had to snap back “I TOLD EVERYONE, nobody listened”
Yep! The character from Halloween 5 known as "The man in Black" is revealed in Halloween 6 to be this same character, Dr. Terence Wynn. In this film he is played by Robert Phalen, in Halloween 5 he was played by Don Shanks, and in Halloween 6 he was played by Mitchell Ryan.
@@dead_head okay very wonderfully created and scary at the same time being! At least someone cares for Micheal Myers when he's locked up for his own good killing innocent people eh!

He was driven to court 2 times a year over at least 10 years, probably in that same station wagon or one like it. An automatic is not that hard to drive. Also, does anyone here really think an evil force wouldn't know how to drive a car?

I love how this scene comes full circle in H6
Halloween and The Terminator all very alike.

Had to wait until to Halloween 6 for the reveal

They’re calling “Dr Quinn”, not “Wynn.”
Wynn was at Smith’s Grove. The institution scene at the beginning of Halloween 4 was Ridgemont.

Or maybe I was just hoping for a connection 😂

one of my favorite scenes from the film, and i think one of the best.

I’m pretty sure someone like Michael Myers wouldn’t need driving lessons. It’s just come naturally to him

@ButcheryTapes or did he?
He was doing very well last night maybe someone around here's gave him lessons
Was this scene in the original film, or was this added for the TV version?
This scene actually is from the original theatrical cut. This is Shout Factory's 2021 4K Scan of the original camera negative

Michael must have just been a naturally gifted driver..not that hard with an automatic gearbox lol

Dr. Loomis did, not realizing that Myers watched him closer than he thought
Possibly Dr. Wynn here, knowing what he did in H6
