Pros
- Ready to fly, no assembly is required. All needed equipment is provided and installed, except batteries for the transmitter.
- Brushless motor drone with 1503/4000KV motors. This is one of the cheapest brushless motor drones that I've seen to date. But don't let the low cost fool you. It's a good flying drone.
- Weighs only 134 grams. No Registration, Trust certificate, or remote ID is required.
- Folding drone with carrying case for portability.
- Very effective optical flow sensor that's capable of automatic motionless hover of the drone.
- Includes IR obstacle avoidance sensors for indoor protection.
- 3.7V 1500mah battery provides up to 10 minutes flight time.
- Camera records 1080p video at 20 fps to your smartphone via the "WiFi UAV" app available on Google Play here bit.ly/WiFi-UAV and via the Apple App Store here apple.co/2HB731W
Cons
- Photos are video frame grabs that are electronically enlarged (interpolated) to 4K from the original 1080p resolution frame grab. This does not provide any improvement in the quality of the still photo.
- Video quality is not the greatest. But this is a low cost beginner's drone, mainly meant for learning the basics of drone flight. And for that purpose, it's a very good drone.
- Obstacle avoidance is iffy. Indoors, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Outdoors, it's totally ineffective as the sun easily overpowers its IR sensors.
- The app uses basic 2.4 Ghz WiFi. This is good in that just about all phones have this type of WiFi available. But it's also bad in that the drone's controller also uses 2.4Ghz, effectively reducing the WiFi FPV video range to about 30 meters.

It's a flyaway hazard. Lost mine last month. It wouldn't react to the controls and still flew off "to China" and still can't find it. It did the same thing indoors and kept plowing into the walls damaged the props before flying it outside. I've should of known. Commands from the remote to the drone also has a periodic lag. Not good. I told Banggood of it and still no reply..😟
Update: Banggood only gave me 500 points to my account. Oh well, falls short of my satisfaction. I'm not buying drones no more.
Hey, loved your review, I had bought one myself but the camera dosen t work or the controls from the app, how do I connect to the app?
1. Turn on the drone and place it on a flat level surface.
2. Turn on the controller, and connect it to the drone.
3. Open your phone's WiFi settings. Look for the drone's WiFi signal, and connect to it the same way that you would connect to your home WiFi (no password needed). You may get an alert from your phone saying that there's no internet in the signal. Select "Stay connected anyways" if you get that alert.
4. Now open the app. The drone's video signal should now be viewable through the app.
Do you know the protocol to use on open TX to be able to pilot this drone in mode 1 and optimize it even further?

A lot of those seem to have that zoomed in camera lens, the cheaper brushed one i have is like that. You have to get quite a ways off to get whatever your filming in view, otherwise pretty good.
Not first. Heck, some of the gear motor drones are way fun. Brushless is always great though.

Today I flew my SG105 Max for the second time. First in optical flow which works just fine. Next I switched on GPS and I thought it was OK. Then it did a low battery return and just before it landed, it suddenly rocketed up again. I tried to take over control. Nope. And down it came, and up again! Until finally it descended out of the sky like a brick. At least this time I could stop the motors.
But ya, the SG105 Max not a safe drone!!! This XT204 with optical flow only is a better choice. Even the camera is better.

First off, love your reviews. Second, it amazes me how much you get in these toy drones. Whats next, gps under $50. Great time to be in the sub 250 hobby.
