I just wanne say thank you guys for including more pics of the mini's your talking about. Makes it way easier and more fun to watch and know what your talking about
I remember playing a game where as Death Guard I tried marching slowly across the table without any transports and the plague marines got picked off one by one. Since that game, I’ve always had at least three transports in my armies.
I'm happy you exist. I love your videos. I love your outlook on things, you're always being positive. When life's anxieties are overwhelming I can always count on you for a new video that helps me remember how to enjoy the little things in life again. so thank you very much for all the content you provide; it's amazing!
I wonder why Space Wolves (or Lunar Wolves in the beginning) should not have fitting Wolf head helmets? They should have had the technology for it, so why not?
That's dangerous calling Space Wolves Lunar Wolves . . . Grounds for instant termination! ;-) Lunar Wolves become Sons of Horus during the heresy so very different beasts altogether!
@@scrubgrunt5105 It was an option, or not? So nobody is/was forced to use them, but at least they could. I personally think that Wolfe Helmet does not look much more funny than the beaky Helmet. Aerodynamics, sure. :) In the time of Knights that was used as a buffer zone for hits to the head, for the same reason some Armour had the chest piece flare out. But that should not matter in WH30k on wards...
Honestly never thought I'd see Noseybonk cross over into my hobby let alone on EOB, any British child of the 80s remembers this nightmare fuel I'm sure 😂
I started a spreadsheet not to long ago and it indeed is a joy to see the number to up. I made the spreadsheet only for my blood bowl teams since that is what I primarily paint and play. And since I play a new faction at every tournament I sometimes lost track of what I already played, what I already painted, what I have submitted as a roster for an upcoming tournament etc. Currently working on my gnomes. For the past 2+ years or so I've been printing all my teams but couldn't pass up the GW Team even though I already have STLs for them. But the GW one is just super cute. Realised I suck at building models though.
Dark angel box comes with chaplain not librarian, also it's even worse because it's not the new upgrade sprue with the Terminator plasma cannon that's included, it's the old one that for sure every dark angels player already has...
@5:07 I really think they missed an obvious move with the whole space Viking thing for the Sprace Wolves. The MkII/MkIII helmet could so easily be worked into a Saxon style, bearded Spangenhelm. They might have even considered it but thought it looked too dwarf-y but that also means you might be able to mine various dwarf ranges for suitable bespectacled helms.
Space wolf is my first warhammer I have purchased and used the wolf helmet that came with the grey hunters, they took me a bit by surprised but went with it.
I love the Astra militarum start collecting box! I think I bought 3! Gave me 3 Russes, 1 full heavy weapons team, 30 guardsmen and 3 comissar! Just bought one castellan and had an old metal psyker lying around! Loved that army because it felt like I cheated the system and was so easy to play
I know that it would add extra work, but I would love if you inserted a picture of the other things you mention, like the other wolf helmets. I don't know what those look like and it'd be handy to illustrate your point.
Ive been wanting to paint my genestealers as the Mars Attacks! Martians, and make them all radioactive and glowy. I love how you did the diver model, ill try to incorporate some of that goodness.
That psycho killer is basically 'Mr Noseybonk', a character from the British children's TV show 'Jigsaw' from 1978 to 1984. The nose, eyes, suit, bow tie even the white gloves. A quick image search will show you what I mean.
In defense of the new DA combat patrol, I already have the old DA combat patrol and the blood angels combat patrol, so the new DA CP is a really good box for reinforcements. Mostly for death company
DA Combat Patrol should be 10 Hellblasters and 5 Heavy Intercessors. Then the Gravis Captain makes sense. Also outside of new SM players who needs anymore Intercessors? That might have been too OP for Combat Patrol games. Maybe tone it down a little by swapping the Bladeguard for Inner Circle Companions? Then it feels more DA and all the units make sense together.
ngl. I'm all for the wolf-helmets. If you're playing the wolven wolves of wolf with fenris blades of furious wolfpaws and wolfcapes of wolfy wolfersson. You might aswell go with the cherry ontop. Right?
New Tau Combat Patrol looks great! I hope whenever they update the Blood Angels one, it'll measure up to that. I got the old one, and I am happy with the models even if its not really "blood angels" themed, but getting a patrol with a squad of death company, or even just jump packs? Yes please.
Your suggestion to put terminators in the da box sounds great until you realize the frames you get are 2 of the old upgrade sprues which coincidentally means you don’t get enough shoulder pads for all the marines…
I have a small game store, and I have been selling the Daek Angels Combat Patrol as a Space Marine. It's been successful so far. Such a shame that the Dark Angels, a great lore to them, got shafted in 10e.
Those old space wolf helmets are actually from the Space Kitsune chapter… I also agree that Orks probably need two types of combat patrol box. The old one was ok, but this one isn’t for me. I’m doing a sad now.
I have a unit of 40k Sternguard for my space wolves where they all have those original wolf helmets painted gold. They look rad and I love those helms. Those Horus Heresy ones.....lol, yea just a bit to kawaii for the Sons of Russ.
I was just thinking this about power fists. Like people take 40k at all seriously when one of the most iconic ideas is "a massive glove so I can punch through a tank." It's silly and it's awesome.
Before the new Tau combat patrol I thought that they were priming to shift combat patrol to me more like boarding action and maybe update those rules to better reflect 10th edition. And then the put a transport in the tau box
Not sure why we have assault intercessors with jump packs, when you have Inceptors that have with jump packs, unless their armor is stronger than the Intercessors.
They serve different roles, the old 'assault marines' and these 'assault intercessors with jump packs' are meant to run up the board and get places fast and deal lots of meele damage, wheras the idea of inceptors is more about them dropping from orbit right in your face and shooting you point blank
DA combat patrol if they really don't want to do vehicles anymore (despite putting a Devilfish in Tau's?); 6 Bladeguard 3 Inner Circle 10 Hellblasters Bladeguard Captain or Ancient (I think both of these are stuck on combined sprues so IDK what they are willing to do for that) Make it a very 'Knightly' themed box while still making you buy the launch boxes for other DA stuff because you know they want you to. Alternatively with a vehicle and without any specific DA stuff that they also want to do for some reason; Storm Speeder 10 Hellblasters 3 Bladeguard Bladeguard Captain/Ancient
I do like the Tau combat patrol but I don't really need it. If you're just starting Tau though then you can easily buy two or even 3 to bulk it up. I don't think anyone needs that many pathfinders, but still good. One reason why buying transports is a pain is that you can't just get them from a store. They're direct only and have been for years. You should at least be able to buy your armys troops and a basic transport choice no matter what army you play.
You can buy every single dark angels box and be unable to use that captain in a squad, there's no vehicle, and 10 intersessors, everyone's favorite unit. It's even better for dark angels, because we know they love bolters right? Super thematic for dark angels obviously
9:31 jay made a mistake here The old da combat patrol came with a chaplain and not a librarian I think this mistake happened because of that stupid crozius. That is not a crozius that is a walking stick
Yeah they are a miss, they cater to a specific group of people aka those that like and/or collect snagas. It would have been better either a generic one OR even better 2 separate patrols from the get go. That way both groups are satisfied and wont feel on the out.

Jay: This year, I'm gonna focus on my death guard, drukhari and other games. Also jay: so I bought this box...
I remember playing a game where as Death Guard I tried marching slowly across the table without any transports and the plague marines got picked off one by one. Since that game, I’ve always had at least three transports in my armies.
3? Any reason your going that route rather than deep strike/rapid ingress?
@@johnhildenbrand2642 normal rank and file plague marines cant deepstrike

I've been watching Jay since I started 40k and I have been so excited everytime he posts
Literally just started a space wolf army and been trying to find those doggo helms 😭
Etsy is your best friend for those helmets
Get a printer!
The doggo helmets were the reason I wanted to play them in 2nd Edition in the 90s
I remember the original metal figure with a wolf head helmet, the recent ones were a deep callback
There on the upgrade spruce I think
Captain Cutler!!!
"And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"
Painting Broccoli as a Silver Birch Tree could be cool.
The Diver does look very cool.
Broccoli looks like a 70s blacksplotation diva
I think the old space marine helmets look great on the primaris models. 👍
I wonder why Space Wolves (or Lunar Wolves in the beginning) should not have fitting Wolf head helmets? They should have had the technology for it, so why not?
Maybe people found it a bit too much "wolf" going on?
because they look dumb
That's dangerous calling Space Wolves Lunar Wolves . . . Grounds for instant termination! ;-) Lunar Wolves become Sons of Horus during the heresy so very different beasts altogether!
@@jeremymorse2087 I know. But they *were* Lunar Wolves at a time, so maybe they wanted a fitting helmet for that. :)

Not sure if you've done this already, but similar to a space marine in every chapter, please do every Primarch! I'm not going to give up!
Honestly never thought I'd see Noseybonk cross over into my hobby let alone on EOB, any British child of the 80s remembers this nightmare fuel I'm sure 😂

19:16 It's Noseybonk!
was looking to see if anyone else knew this, wonder if @ashens has seen these
To bring the diver to a higher level, I would give the seaweed strands a darker color to differentiate it from his dive suit.
Agreed, or paint suit brownish like old weathered canvas? Green suit looks weird.
I found your channel 2 or 3 weeks ago and I love your content

Proxies of exactly that exist, and they're great
I recently started T'au, and that new combat patrol is literally exactly the army I have built so far xD
It also compliments the previous cp. Unlike some newer ones... cough... dark angels.. cough...
Space wolf is my first warhammer I have purchased and used the wolf helmet that came with the grey hunters, they took me a bit by surprised but went with it.
didn't they show and release those redone helmets like, seven months ago? alongside the Space Wolf Praetor

Haven't those space wolf MKVI beaky helms been a thing for a long while?
Broccoli's got her high beams on.
Why are those space wolves heads resin though? I wouldve liked some if they were plastic, the kits dont have enough helmets
You can tell Jay is a huge Black Templar player because he confused the chaplain for a librarian in the old Dark Angel combat patrol 😂
What should I get after the recruit edition stater set?
The restraint to not buy anymore sets until you painted the box🤣
@@KrakDukfr lmfao I bought a box of tau (it was start collecting I couldn’t pass it up 😢) and then 2 more SM boxes and I haven’t finished either 😅

You completely missed the styling of the new helmets, didn't you... The tops of the helmets are clearly intended as a nod to viking helmets.
