With the latest fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the new BMW iX3 has a range of 460 kilometres (286 miles) on a single charge (WLTP), perfect for adventures. The latest digital instrument cluster keeps the driver up-to-date on the range and system performance. BMW Live Cockpit Professional with optional 12.3" display has information, music and key functions all just a tap or voice away.
A refined design gives the new BMW iX3 a sculpted look, finished with new BMW i touches including BMW i Blue accents and an enclosed BMW kidney grille. The standard adaptive LED headlights are now 10 mm slimmer to give the new BMW iX3 a modern and aerodynamically poised look.

Official data on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions power consumption and electric range were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. For new vehicles type-tested from 01.01.2021, official figures exist only in WLTP.

For further information about the official fuel consumption and the specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power consumption of new passenger cars“, which is available at all selling points and at www.dat.de/co2/.

This is AMAZING!!! I'm glad that the iX3 isnt just another marketing model with crazy front end and interior, and not to mention the sophisticated software in the infotainment system. I think a lot of current X3 owners will find themselves right at home with this iX3. Should be an easy transition to the electric model! Cant wait to see them in person! And yes, like someone mentioned below, only fast charge when you need it to preserve the life span of the battery. Overnight charging is the best way to go about it.

Best interior and exterior design... Yes, maybe. It's subjective, but I like it as well. However would be nice to see BMW catching up to Tesla in terms of 0-100km/h acceleration and especially range. But it's a good direction!

105 years! Do you know how old is Tesla? 18. I respect what BMW accomplished. But they had some time to refine some details. Tesla needs to focus on the main things and in an electric car then main things are safety, speed and range. I truly hope BMW will catch up in these areas, not just having minimal panel gaps, nice interior, or as you put it... "quality".
@ Tesla isn’t known for quality. I understand there are more important things then minimal panel gaps but I wouldn’t want paint issues on my brand new car
Speed up the charging, and one also speeds up the degradation of the battery. Therefore, use fast chargers (150KW+) only when you need. When you don’t, slow charge and preserve the battery. 11KW is plenty for most of your life. Thanks BMW! Now, where’s my electric and/or SAF BMW M1???
458 km (284 miles) range, 0-100kmh (0-62mph)6.8 sec. Unless they wanna sell it for $40k otherwise I don't see a chance

I really wished it was in the US and it was a 7 seater but other than those 2 things, it looks and is really amazing.

Grill is way too small. I would like a grill reaching back to the windscreen and utilizing also the roof of the car, ending at the back bumper. Or why not having the kidneys balanced in the wheels, like RR, just utilizing the entire wheel size? If Tesla can have it's jog steering, you could provide the kidneys instead of a traditional wheel. Or why not fold the kidneys and voila you would have stylish front seats.

I'm a BMW fan, but this is so ridiculous. An electric car gear knob, seriously? And the interior is absolutely from the usual X3? It seems to me that the BMW engineers were not very stressed when they created this "new car" :) Management: we need a new electric car. Engineers: yes, let's just get into the usual outdated design of the X3 just an electric motor with a battery :)))
Well, this is based on the regular X3 and the platform is the same also. So I dont know what you expected? The name should be a clue as well...!
There is a gear shifter nob even in cars with automatic transmission. At the minimum you need: drive, parking, and reverse. Why not use the type of control people are used to also for electric cars?

ix3 is the proof that any fossil car chassis could be easily modified to EV. would be nice to see that manufacturer offer a transformation option from fossil i3 to ev ix3 conversion in the future.
Yes ,but with the HUGE drawback of reduced cargo space eg the normal x2 has around 470 liters and the hybrid version only 410

No XDrive system though. That has been removed. Probable too much weight and therefor limiting the electric range. But then is it an X3?

When I hear the words with lots of fancy sounding adjectives, I just wonder where the core engineering is showing up. My first car was a BMW which was a pleasure to drive. Can someone explain this math to me? The battery size is 80 kWh with 74 kWh usable. 80/18.5 = 4.32 * 100km = 432km. So where does the 453km range come from?
All I need to know is it’s not coming to the US 😩. Why you do this to me, BMW?!

Could do with knowing what bmw campaign hold is as my new car is in the uk but on hold due to a campaign hold so think that means a major recall really as won’t come till 2022 I guess the batteries carnt cope with super chargers but you guess????

it's time for BMW to pick up too. Having to wait 8 hours for the car to load, no conditions
11 kW AC (home) charging is not too bad. If you need to fast charge it can DC charge at maximum 150 kW (public charging). That gives 80% charge in around 30 minutes.
