Iems have all kinds of different tunings now, so depending if you sing or play an instrument, you may prefer a certain tuning. I'm a bass player at my church, and we use witeless packs for the singers and Avioms for the band. I've had iems that cost as low as $20 and as high as $500. The best one I've ever had is the one I use now. The 7HZ Legato. It has a crazy amount of bass. The full price is usually $109, but I got mine when it was on sale once for about $65.
Yes, and the default church buy seems to have been Shure SE-215 for a long while and yet there are so so many good lower-priced 1-DD IEMs, along with same priced $100 or so hybrid IEMs out there.

I am also searching for a budget open back IEM. As an EG/MD, I am constantly pulling an IEM out when band members are asking questions or to hear the FOH mix. The KZ DQS claim to be open back. Do they let in sound?
Get ambient mics. Get some on-stage mics called "boundary mics". If you want ambient sound - you can get it without pulling out your IEMs. You really want a good seal and the way to properly get ambient sound is through the stage setup. There are some gimmick IEMs like the ones from Westone - we have one player who spent the dollars on them and isn't really pleased with the results (they thought they we going to hear the ambient surroundings with them in).

Hey man, I got a paid around Christmas of 2023, they’re genuinely unreal, I got the quad drivers. The case and cable are also great quality I found the cables just don’t tangle which is so handy, also they’re modelled to fit your ear shape so the speakers themselves don’t wiggle around but don’t apply pressure either

The Westone AM pro series has ambient ported IEMs. It would be worth a look, not cheap but also not crazy expensive.

No. Not in my experience like with my open back HD600’s.
