They are what I want from Epcot-- a bit of chill and a bit of learning. Used to love Maelstrom for the same reason, and then they ruined it by turning it into a movie ride instead of a river ride showing the sights of Norway.
An overriding theme to these DFB vids is that any ride with any intensity is INTENSE. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think these folks need to go to a 6 Flags to remember what actual intensity is. I love DFB btw!
I agree. My family and I get season passes to Six Flags every year, so when we went to Disney last year we loved it, but were really missing that thrill factor. We are going to Universal this November, hoping for a bit more thrills, but still with better theming. Love Six Flags, but the theming is really lacking so I’m hoping for the best of both worlds with Universal. 🎢
As someone who hates true intense rides, I love that DFB refers to the intensity of Disney “intense” rides because that way my poor little soul is prepared 😅
We are two early-40s men and we took my 66- year old mother (and 63-year-old aunt) on Guardians and she LOVED it! She tells all her friends that she felt like it was a Tilt-a-Whirl on a coaster track. My aunt even got on Expedition Everest too and she loved it (she made sure my mother skipped that one though! You just have to know what you like!)
We rode Mission Space during it's 'soft opening' period. I can tell you that it was a MUCH more extreme experience at that time! I'm a hardened coaster fan, but the 'hypersleep' section of the ride was seriously intense, such that I felt I was about to pass out. As we've visited year after year it has been watered down to where it is now, which is nowhere as intense, even on the orange side. Nowadays it's pretty gentle.
@Disney and Cowboys fan for life i get that but i think a lot of people just really enjoy how relaxing it is and looking at all of the beautiful plants and the hidden mickeys they hide
Test Track is my favorite ride across all of the theme parks I've been to. I'm a wimp when it comes to drops on rollercoasters and flume rides. Test Track for me has all of the speed and thrills of a coaster minus the drops. My husband and I took turns getting in the single rider line and we basically walked straight on the ride each time. Our 2 year old hadn't experienced dark rides before our Epcot trip a couple months ago so he partially covered his eyes on the Nemo and Living with the Land rides during the dark portions of those, which is the entirety of Nemo and the beginning and end of Living with the Land. He absolutely loved the aquarium in the Seas pavilion though! And there was plenty of room for him to roam without us worrying about him bugging other people trying to get up to see the tanks.
Single rider line for test track is the best. Of all the single rider lines this one is always much shorter than the regular line. For example with rock n rollercoaster the single rider can still be a decently long wait
Mission Space Orange is my very favorite ride in all of Disney! It's the only ride that is truly like going into space. How can you not love that! It should be rated 10/10.

@@EEvtgIm gonna be honest with you! Im prone to motion sickness... Like, I get a lot of motion sickness especially from spinning!, and riding this orange mission I learned that either I really dont suffer from motion sickness at all or the ride itself isnt as intense as people seem to think!...
Spaceship Earth is one of the best rides at Epcot. My all time favorite is Soarin. Frozen is also amazing and cute and another one of my favorites. Great video.I love the love boat comment. I used to love that show.
My 5 year old has a deep and undying love for the Epcot ball - she calls it the bubble and has gone so far as to sleep with a stuffy of it. So we always have to ride spaceship earth, which gives me a chance to take a nap in the AC 🤣 She also knows about why it stops, so if you’re ever on it and you hear a little voice say, “someone is having trouble getting on or maybe bubble needs a break” it’s probably her 🤣
The live action shots during Grand Fiesta ARE like the B-roll shots from "The Love Boat" - perfect comparison, AJ!! ( I may or may not have bellowed out loud when she made that reference)
Mission Space was the first ride my husband and I rode on our honeymoon in DW. We rode the orange mission and I LOVED it. It’s also how I learned that my new husband suffers from motion sickness. 😬
Omg my husband and I did this ride on our Disney honeymoon too but he's aware of his motion sickness so we split up on the ride. He went on the green side and I went orange. That was the first ride ever that made me green in the face, and I've skydived before!😅
All of these videos have been super helpful. I finely made it to Disney and this blog helped me plan for me and my family. Tomorrow we are going to Epcot and this came out at the perfect time. Thank you so much for everything.
You can always bring your own headphones! (I will say though, you may start to notice how short the rides are when you aren't even half way through a song!)
We went to Disney world last year with zero knowledge of anything! We are going again in October and I watch your videos everyday while getting ready for work. Thank you for all the awesome helpful videos
I LOVE Epcot!!! France might be my favorite simply due to the food but to each their own. Next time I go I am doing two full days of Epcot! Cannot wait!!!
Nausea bands work well on Guardians of the Galaxy. You will not feel any motion sickness at all. I wear them on both wrists all day for all rides. No sickness on any ride. No pills to take and no drowsiness. Just the bands - can find them at Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart. Totally worth the investment and can be reused.
OK, I love these videos, but the premise has the same issue as the last one. You are not RANKING these attractions, you are RATING them. A ranking would be deciding which Epcot ride is best, which is worst, and where the others fall in between. Rating is giving a standalone score to each one on its own value, irrespective of its relation to other rides. As I imagine you'll continue with this series, please consider that this video does not contain a ranking of anything.
Epcot is my favorite park at Disney and I have so many good memories. I do wanna mention the story of when I took my fiancee to Disney for the first time and she wanted to ride Living With the Land. She loved this ride because she's a big cottagecore nerd, though we did have a duo of squirmy kiddos in front of us, one of which tried to exit the ride early and promptly took a spill. Luckily we were ALMOST at the exit (literally the next boat to disembark) so she wasn't hurt but it was pretty hard not to laugh.
I hate “thrill rides” but Mission Space Orange is ah-maz-ing!!! It helps a lot that they have a 2 minute “training” before the ride that tells you how to best avoid motion sickness. Having said all that, I was very grateful for the long benches after the ride. We DID have to sit down for a few minutes after.
My top 5 would go 5. Test Track (would have been number 4 but they changed it from the OG) 4. Guardians 3. Ratatouille 2. Living With The Land 1. Spaceship Earth
@@Kentavious_ Agree. And we haven't done SE since it broke down during the "one small step" family in the living room scene and we had to walk down A LOT of stairs.
Great video AJ! Getting geared up for an Epcot day in Oct so I think I'll probably need the genie plus for that day. Also the guy in soarin played putty on Seinfeld and that's all I think of, that and the amazing soundtrack!
Back when Mission Space came out, you pretty much just went on the full ride experience. I’ll never forget the first time I rode it, just after it opened. As we exited, people were sitting in benches, the carpet, and outside on the ground everywhere. I sympathized, but it was funny. All those people excited to get on the ride, unfortunately, couldn’t see the green post-riders. Lol
It has been 16 years since we have gone to Disney, nice to see some new changes & some of the old standby's, bringing our littles for the first time, they are going to have a lot of fun! And all that walking ought to tire them out! LOL
Hey AJ. Can you rank them from worst to best and giving each one a separate number? Like Figment - 6, Test Track - 7, Gran Fiesta - 8, Frozen 8.5, Remy’s 8.75, Spaceship Earth - 9, etc… the chronological order gives us a way to skip through ones in the video that might be ranked 7 or less and allows us to focus on the ones worth riding. While also having individual numbers gives us an idea of which one you would prefer to go on if you could only choose one.
I remember riding soarin about 12 years ago and it was probably my favorite ride from that trip. I recently went back not too long ago and while it was still great… we had just ridden the flight of passage in animal kingdom the day before and wow. That ride was like another level to it. I couldn’t help but compare them when I was riding them!
Frozen was the number 1 must do for our 6 and 9 year old granddaughters. We made it the first ride of the day (we did not rope drop, but we’re there within the first hour) and we only waited 20 minutes! It is a short ride for a LONG wait (anything over 45 minutes). We thought the same thing about Remmy…we waited over 60 min and it seemed short for that much of a wait.
I am so happy we did not wait the 90 minute wait for Frozen when we went. We continued on with our day and came back to it just as the fireworks were starting.. it was only a 15 minute wait and my 6 month old at the time loved it.. never road it before so I was unaware of the drop but she didn't seem to mind just more like what is going on face lol *Firework show is worth ending the night with* I've just been lucky enough to see it before 6 years ago so chose to opt for a short ride line instead
I went on Soarin a few weeks ago at DCA and not only did I get B2, but B1 wasn’t functioning so there were no feet above our heads. Best view of the ride to say the least.
In watching this and talking with friends who have ridden, there’s a disconnect with Guardians of the Galaxy. Some folks like in this video call it a slightly intense family ride. For others it’s pretty wicked. In me it knocked a kidney stone loose, and when leaving, there was a tween outside having a full on panic attack. It’s rough on the body folks. It’s a roller coaster in the dark AND the car twists and turns- turns backward at least twice WHILE moving. But the two big fails that need immediate fixing are: warning signs (there’s a sign but it’s not prevalent) and the bafflingly awful ride exit. Pirates of the Caribbean has benches right next to the boat exit. Cosmic Rewind which flings you through a dark building four times the size of Spaceship Earth not only has no benches, but a massive staircase up and then back down! No conveyor or escalator. Stairs. There’s a couple of lawsuits pending already so I’m sure that’s why the stairs haven’t been addressed yet (it would imply liability to fix right now?) and why I’m sure the stairs WILL be addressed at some point. All that being said, I’m glad I rode it even though it will be the only time I ever ride. It’s ridiculous and amazing. They just need to let you know that before you get on. So I’m conclusion, some folks will love it and some will be pretty beat up. I’m the victim of a botched surgery and am mildly disabled - anyone less than fully healthy maybe head for Test Track instead.
I had a banana before riding Mission Space but I felt so sick.... I had to be squeezed... yes those barf bags... But that was a fav of mine it was just like NASA!! Another one that made me really dizzy was the one in Hollywood Studios, the dark rock music.
I hadn't been on the Mexico ride since before they revamped it and then I rode on it and had no idea what I'd be getting and I absolutely loved it! I remembered it from when I was a kid and always thought it was lame
If I was Eric Idle, and saw my moon face image, I would plead to have it immediately taken down! I have loved Eric Idle (and the rest of the Monty Python cast for years! ) If I were him, I wouldn’t want that to be the image for generations to see! Terrifying!
Ok, DFB, we seriously need to have a heart-to-heart about your rating system. First off, ranking rides on a scale of 5-10 is just bizarre (nothing is ever ranked lower than a 5). Secondly, ride preferences are very subjective with different riders placing value on different features. By filtering experiences down to a single number, you are not fairly representing different perspectives. This is how you end up ranking Living with the Land higher than Mission Space (not to mention the People Movers higher than Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion over in MK). I strongly recommend using a 5-point scale for several individual characteristics, such as thrills, artistry, kid friendliness, and nostalgia. This way viewers can be better informed of which rides will best align with their party.
@@jfgibson73 Who exactly are they for? If I'm planning a day at EPCOT, how does it help me to know that Frozen Ever After is an 8/10? Should I priroitize it? Should I skip it? The subjective numbers are pointless without context. I love DFB and I enjoy the ride reviews, but the rating numbers just don't make any sense.
When I was a child I was ENTHRALLED by Living with the Land. I used to only watch animal and cooking shows on TV so it was just what I enjoyed. But I recognize I’m probably in the minority there. 🤣
She said Guardians was a family smooth ride so I took my 5 year old son on this. Never been to Orlando. It scared the hell out of him and he was traumatized the rest of our trip. He didn’t want to go on anything after this. Sure for thrill seekers this is a fun ride but if you fear rollercoasters this will not be a pleasant ride for you
You forgot to mention the bird in soaring. I jumped and let out a small scream when it flew past us! They should have a warning for those with a fear of birds! Lol
Only time I ever felt close to motion sickness in the USN on submarines was in the Straight of Juan de Fuca in a really high sea state. But I experienced that out in the Pacific in a force 4 typhoon and didn't seasick then so I think it was more that it amplified sickness I already felt. lol
so mission to space is like the graviton rides of old? a centrifuge? that's how they are going to produce artificial gravity for long space missions in the future, spin the ship and push you against the inside wall so it feels like you are on Earth. :)
We’re looking forward to our first trip to WDW in a year & a half or so. We’re DL folks so thankfully can skip Soarin’ and it’s crazy bendiness, though it’s one of my faves. No emotional attachment to Figment, ah well. Srsly cannot wait to ride Guardians, also looking forward to Ratatouille and Test Track, but for Epcot mostly looking forward to food, shops & entertainment/experiences :)
When our parents needed us to get to sleep in EPCOT when we were young, they would take us on Living with the Land. We would be knocked out before half the way through
I hate how the projected faces don’t blend into their bodies! And Maelstrom was amazing! Frozen doesn’t even seem that creative. Never understood the long wait…
When I was a child, my dad took me on mission space and I had a massive panic attack during it. Next time I go back (haven't been in years) I'm going to try it again and see if it still terrifies me in my late 20s lol.
Only three rides in all of Epcot appeal but can be completely optional as well. I will most probably want to spend the majority of my time at world showcase, eating, drinking and shopping!!
i remember that when i went to disney when i was 6 years old we went to the mission space attraction and my brother and i were very excited but when we got in line you would think that a mother would take her children for the less intense version but not my mom took his 6 year old son who could be dropped by a fly to the trip to mars (I still resent my mom for that)
We are going to Disneyworld with my mother and two kids in January for the last time (she is old and health not too good). She will be in a wheelchair, has trouble breathing due to COPD and asthma and does not get on very many rides so I wanted to make this last trip more of an activities trip so she can spend time and make memories with the grandkids. My question is, what are some great things to do with Grandma that doesn’t require getting on rides? What are some great shows to see? Any advice?
Awesome video, but I would like to start a trend! As an aunt that finally has enough funds to take her niece and nephew to disney world, like once in a lifetime, I would appreciate if frequent disney visitors not book IAS and virtual que for the same day. Leave some slots for the rest of us that can't afford a disney hotel. It would be much appreciated. ❤
quick question about getting into international gateway at early morning (staying on Disney property...just not Yacht or Beach Club...staying at Gran Destino). Can we get Lyft service to Beach Club and walk through? The reason I ask is my daughter-in-law will be 7.5 months pregnant and we wanted to ride Remy first, if we could.
I was there Oct. 20 and I couldn't go on Guardian of the Galaxy because I can't do visual Que, it didn't take a disability pass and no standing in line. But it seems to intense for me. I hated Test Track, too intense. When it went down that hill. I screamed a bit. I went in the single line lane. I don't like high speed thrills. I went on Mission space but the less intense part. The boat ride in Mexico is cute unless you are really into more thrill rides. I found it almost Small World in Magic KIngdom. There are some cool suveniors to look at. I didn't go on Frozen Ever After ride and I hope next time. Remmy's was cute and a little intense for me but I might go on it again. It's a good thing I use my disability pass because the line was so long.
Love the vid! Why use terms like boarding pass and individual attraction selection instead of virtual queue and individual lightning lane? That can confuse guests because those terms aren't used in the My Experience app. When can we see a video on the shows at Epcot ranked? Test Tracks' 2012 retheme was an abomination. The removal of the classic omni mover rides is sad, but life moves on. Thank goodness for RUclips! Thanks for putting a positive word on everything! Love you guys.
Ugh, I still miss the Maelstrom ride, and I'm still salty over Frozen because of it. 🤧 I absolutely REFUSE to ride Frozen Ever After because of it. And no, I will NOT let it go. 😤😤
Even if I don’t NEED genie plus for some of the parks, I’m still going to get them since it’s my first time at Disney world and there’s so much I want to do and see. Maybe it’ll allow me to even ride some rides multiple times. Either way, I will regret nothing about getting it
It’s especially worth it if you are going to park hop! We did Epcot in the morning and I was able to stack some lightning lanes in Magic Kingdom for when we park hopped later
I remember going on Mission Space Orange side, it was amazing, unfortunatly I barfed. However, if you drink water before riding it, you'll be fine. Trust me
about the gran fiesta tour, the audio of the screens seen before the physical doll section is short and repeats at least twice before you pass those screens. however, the one where donald takes pictures of things is fine repeating often because he keeps seeing something interesting. this means the ride is not that great in my opinion
I am definitely not claustrophobic so I can’t relate! I can sleep under a blanket (face covered), i hide in small storage places while playing hide and seek. I hope that you enjoy the other rides at Disney though!

Lol
I LOVE the ranking rides in every park. I’m here for it!
@@Dolcevita_bakes okay? Is it that serious lol?
@@ashleyosborne9218 Words matter or you get ambiguity and communication suffers.
But In the title she says ranking soooooo
Fools! Never try to match semantics with Ashley!!
@@ashleyosborne9218 she’s rating the rides she’s not ranking them
It has been 16 years since we have gone to Disney, nice to see some new changes & some of the old standby's, bringing our littles for the first time, they are going to have a lot of fun! And all that walking ought to tire them out! LOL
Shut up Elizabeth
Yeah she should’ve named the video rating instead of ranking. ‘Cause she didn’t rank anything in this video
#1 Guardians best ride at WDW! #2 Test Track #3 Remy #4 Frozen #5 Soaring #6 Mission Space Orange Spinning High G/Green Non-Spinning 1G #7 Mexico/3Calbereros #8 Figment #9 Spaceship Earth #10 Nemo #11 Land
Haha dude in the green shirt at mission space was exactly how I was on our field trip back in the day, I was so out of place 😂😂😂
I have not been on flight of passage but I did ride Soarin’ and it was one of my favorite rides at Epcot !
We continued on with our day and came back to it just as the fireworks were starting.. it was only a 15 minute wait and my 6 month old at the time loved it.. never road it before so I was unaware of the drop but she didn't seem to mind just more like what is going on face lol
*Firework show is worth ending the night with* I've just been lucky enough to see it before 6 years ago so chose to opt for a short ride line instead
Amazing job. Thank you so much for taking the time. I’m gonna check to see if you have videos for animal kingdom and Hollywood studios too
I had a banana before riding Mission Space but I felt so sick.... I had to be squeezed... yes those barf bags... But that was a fav of mine it was just like NASA!! Another one that made me really dizzy was the one in Hollywood Studios, the dark rock music.
I wish I knew how tiny the mission space vehicle is. Even the green one is such a confined space and it made us a little claustrophobic.
I hadn't been on the Mexico ride since before they revamped it and then I rode on it and had no idea what I'd be getting and I absolutely loved it! I remembered it from when I was a kid and always thought it was lame
Thanks for all the reviews.
The Grand Fiesta Tour and Living with the Land are the 2 best rides in Epcot! RIP Maelstrom.
Love Gran Fiesta Tour! I hope Caballero Donald is back with his meet and greet.
tip on spinning rides like the orange mission space. If you look at your feet it reduces the feeling of nausea
Just in time, cause we’ll be living it up in EPCOT next week!
Was it fun?
respect for figment!
I never knew how upset I would be with a random internet blog about ride rankings, but here we are
Maybe these posts aren’t for everybody…
@@jfgibson73 Who exactly are they for? If I'm planning a day at EPCOT, how does it help me to know that Frozen Ever After is an 8/10? Should I priroitize it? Should I skip it? The subjective numbers are pointless without context. I love DFB and I enjoy the ride reviews, but the rating numbers just don't make any sense.
@@shadowlord7 People seem to 1) Enjoy the DFB videos and 2) Somehow figure out which rides they want to go on one way or another.
@@jfgibson73 You just made my point -- the numbers don't matter! I'm just suggesting a way the ratings could have some value.
Like you AJ, I love Epcot followed
by Animal Kingdom.
Thank you for all of your suggestions,
and recommendations.🇨🇦🇺🇸👍
Went to disney world last week, the guardians ride is fun, unless you just ate a big lunch at the biergarten in the Germany pavilion
When I was a child I was ENTHRALLED by Living with the Land. I used to only watch animal and cooking shows on TV so it was just what I enjoyed. But I recognize I’m probably in the minority there. 🤣
I loved it as a kid too.
On Columbus Day weekend standby for Living With The Land was 60 minutes… it was SOOOOO busy…
But I experienced that out in the Pacific in a force 4 typhoon and didn't seasick then so I think it was more that it amplified sickness I already felt. lol
I love Soarin’ and Test Track equally! 😊
For guardians if you love more thrills sit more back since it has more thwip and more to the front for it to be a bit less crazy
so mission to space is like the graviton rides of old? a centrifuge? that's how they are going to produce artificial gravity for long space missions in the future, spin the ship and push you against the inside wall so it feels like you are on Earth.
Thank the Phoenicians. Haha love it!!!
When our parents needed us to get to sleep in EPCOT when we were young, they would take us on Living with the Land. We would be knocked out before half the way through
Therapy isn’t enough. I need to fight who 1.) voted to get rid of Maelstrom and 2.) who decided to make the animatronics of the humans SO. BAD.
I hate how the projected faces don’t blend into their bodies! And Maelstrom was amazing! Frozen doesn’t even seem that creative. Never understood the long wait…
Personally, I’d give Cosmic Rewind a 10/10, Mission: Space an 8/10, and Test Track a 9.5/10.
I love what you do
When I was a child, my dad took me on mission space and I had a massive panic attack during it.
I was there last week- Guardians Cosmic Rewind is just fantastic!!!!!!
i remember that when i went to disney when i was 6 years old we went to the mission space attraction and my brother and i were very excited but when we got in line you would think that a mother would take her children for the less intense version but not my mom took his 6 year old son who could be dropped by a fly to the trip to mars (I still resent my mom for that)
We are going to Disneyworld with my mother and two kids in January for the last time (she is old and health not too good). Any advice?
Gran Fiesta tour is my all time favorite 🤩
Awesome video, but I would like to start a trend! As an aunt that finally has enough funds to take her niece and nephew to disney world, like once in a lifetime, I would appreciate if frequent disney visitors not book IAS and virtual que for the same day. Leave some slots for the rest of us that can't afford a disney hotel. It would be much appreciated. ❤
The Grand Finale at Grand Fiesta Tour is all fun in games until Donald turns into a flower pot.
Super excited for guardians going next week
quick question about getting into international gateway at early morning (staying on Disney property...just not Yacht or Beach Club...staying at Gran Destino).
Regarding Mission Space ... they say to have a banana because it tastes the same coming up as it does going down!
Either way, I will regret nothing about getting it
Same! First time in 20 years, and even then it was only for one day!
It’s especially worth it if you are going to park hop! We did Epcot in the morning and I was able to stack some lightning lanes in Magic Kingdom for when we park hopped later
Ok, but I have a question about boarding pass reservations. How do you get them?
I am the one person who loves Mission Space. I will spend half a day just riding it over and over.
I remember going on Mission Space Orange side, it was amazing, unfortunatly I barfed. However, if you drink water before riding it, you'll be fine. Trust me
Figment is basically the EPCOT mascot. They have to keep him
about the gran fiesta tour, the audio of the screens seen before the physical doll section is short and repeats at least twice before you pass those screens. however, the one where donald takes pictures of things is fine repeating often because he keeps seeing something interesting. this means the ride is not that great in my opinion
The biggest con for Mission Space in my experience is that it’s not for those who are claustrophobic. I felt very uneasy in that little pod
I am definitely not claustrophobic so I can’t relate! I can sleep under a blanket (face covered), i hide in small storage places while playing hide and seek. I hope that you enjoy the other rides at Disney though!
Thank you for the warning!
Gran Fiesta Tour is amazing if only because I get to smell the amazing smell of Mexican food at the San Angel Restaurant.
I need to work for you lol. Best job ever!
