Cuaron literally spent a couple minutes talking about how fantastic Columbus is. To this day he still talks about how Columbus doesn't get enough credit. He's not being "politically correct". Columbus is a great children's director. Even though Percy Jackson might not have been the most accurate film ever, kids who haven't read the books can still find a lot of enjoyment in the movie. It's not fair to say someone is more talented than the other when they literally specialize in drastically different films. The only connection is Harry Potter, and even both of them brought something the other person was unable to bring to the table. Plus, Columbus has worked on a lot more films, so of course he's going to have a not-so-good one here and there. I love Cuaron and he's one of my favorite directors, but presenting an argument that is pretty unwarranted is strange. Columbus is fantastic as well.
