Looks like a good bullet/powder combo for your rifle, thanks for sharing. I would be curious, in the future, to see more of your reloading process. It is always interesting to see the amount of case fill, any powder compression, and how well the bullets fit the bullet seating stem you used.
I grew up in northeast Indiana, but I've been in Ga for a long time. The first thought I had when I saw the snow was "brrrr, looks cold" lol. I'm getting soft as I get older.
Im trying to gather items to reload in the future. It’s an expensive game right now. Really enjoy the science of your videos. It shows your passion for tight groups.
Love the content! JRB recently did a test and AR comp is actually faster in cooler temperatures. These may actually be fine in warmer weather rather than cold haha
I used the 65 v-max for fire forming and they preformed very well for me as they did for you. Keep making the awesome content! The Hornady 105's are back in stock a couple places (Midsouth) if you need to stock up.
They had several that looked like they key holed to me but if they did they still shot impressively well so I'm assuming it was just the backer... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Maybe it’s the backer or just my perception but looked like a couple started to key hole. Third and fourth group have plenty of potential for winter, would love to see this same work up in summer just to test the difference.
In case you're interested, SWFA has in-stock the # 2458 105 grain .243 HPBT projectiles used in Hornady Black. Not specifically a hunting bullet, but on The Social Regressive channel, Kyle fired the factory-loaded rounds from a gas gun into gel at distance!
@@RobsReloading I almost bought some from them last week, along with some other things, but the prices and shipping were on the high side. Plus they're having shipping delays- _"Due to a higher volume of orders our shipping may be delayed up to 6-8 business days."_
@@RobsReloading Midway actually has Hornady Match and Black for $2.00 and $2.10 a round, which is probably _why_ they still have it. We will remember, and they will sink into oblivion like cheaper-than-dirt.
I read that you should have 1000 ft·lb on target for whitetail. At 3400 fps, this will get you 200 yards. They'd be supersonic to 850 yards but with just 184 ft·lb at that point.
Great velocities on those light bullets. Am building a gas gun in 6 arc now. Going with a 22 inch Shilen barrel. Wonder how much velocity I will lose over your bolt gun?
I finished my 6mm ARC build recently and I'm waiting for a good range day. I'm just getting started in my reloading fetish and was wondering why you went with a lighter bullet given the better BCs of the heavier projectiles?
Those bullets are only .835" long. Although they are being seated .255" into the case, there is also a .070" boattail. Probably can't make the O.A.L. much longer so there's still going to be a long jump to the lands. I wonder how much it would matter at that point!
@@dahut3614 I guarantee seating depth will make a difference(good or bad). Any hand loader should know that changing the seating depth will change the group size. That's regardless of the length of the bullet.
@@dahut3614 I would try as much as needed. I have no experience with this bullet and can't say they usually shoot best at a certain distance off the lands.
I bet h322 would be a good 6arc powder. FYI my Lee 6 are die set has some data in it for a lot of the lighter bullets. If you are interested in that data let me know i can snap some pics and email it over.

Have the same Savage Switchback, have shot some .25" groups with 108 ELDM, doing some testing today with CFE,Lever,BLC2, and Varget...love the vids
Velocity?
Hello from the UK. Nice video. I shoot 65 v max in my 6pp 28gn vitavori N133 3150fps but it going in the same hole at 100m

Hopefully some warms days ahead!
Thanks for the videos on ARC, I really like your format and how you show the data in your videos.

I think it is the backing, I have the paper on a layer of osb, and sometimes it can make the holes not perfectly round.
29.3-29.5 all day every day. Busting chucks out to 300 no issues would be my guess

Yes I was just able to order two boxes of the 105 bthp from Mid-South shooter supply. Should be here sometime next week. Thanks for the info though

@@dahut3614 yeah they have been slow now for a while. They have done a better job with prices however vs Midway IMO, so they often get my business.

Are these orange circles 1” or 3/4” or what? If he mentioned it, I missed it.

10k less psi for safe pressure, you may find a powder that provides similar velocities at lower safe AR pressures.

If you look at other videos on the channel, I have used a lot of the heavier class bullets. I'm just playing around with all types of bullets.
Nice, are you going to do a seating depth test on the 29.6 grains load mow?

With group size and velocity achieved today, for my use I don't see any reason to do any further work up with this combo.
58s next?
Don't have any of the 58 grainers.
I run the 65gr. Vmax an 65gr. Berger out of a 243 varmint heavy barrel they shoot extremely well bang flop on ohio coyotes good groups rob
Much higher velocity out of the 243?

Thanks for the info. I don't have any h322, and the 65 grain V-Max is the only light bullet that I have right now.
The varmints wouldn't know what hit them!
Whose scope do you use ?
QL predicted 3318 fps and 50892 psi max pressure (at 70° F) from your top load with a case volume of 35.6 grains H2O, so definitely way off!
I did not run these through GRT so not sure how that would compare.
