Yeah, it will be a lot harder to steal, chase people with knives and start grassfires every other week when when it's cold out. My heart heart goes out to them.
you legalize drugs use, keep letting these folks out bail, the powers that be are literally encouraging this behavior every way they can, why are you surprised at the mess you have created, instead of illusions of effort for political gain, why not try solving the problem
blame the bleeding hearted virtue signalling left - go take a seat in community court and watch how these people get treated, it will make you laugh. They are baby'd and coddled to absolute death by the government. All in the name of being "progressive" meanwhile the real people who don't live in gated community's or high class neighbourhoods are the ones who pay the price - the average worker is the one who pays the price. The young kid out with his family getting screamed at by some homeless person shooting up drugs on a street corner pays the price. The father who is just trying to take his daughter out for an ice cream and can't even enter the facility without both breathing in drug fumes pays the price. The single mother walking her daughter to school having to come across these repeat offenders on the side walk pays the price. The young teenage girl getting groped by some drugged out male criminal on a transit bus who wont let her get off at her next stop pays the price. You know who doesn't pay the price? The judges who live in million dollar homes who drive into work and park in a secure parkade and take an elevator up to the top floor of the courthouse which is also a secure area, down to the courtroom through a secure area, to attend court protected by armed peace officers. The bleeding hearted social workers, probation officers, lawyers and so on who drive into work and have their vehicles protected in a restricted parking lot, protected by armed peace officers, who go home to a high class neighborhood. and if you dare point out it's the same 100 or so criminals that they keep releasing on bail that are responsible for 80-90% of the crime, that they constantly baby? You get labelled as some nazi or ignorant person who needs to be "educated" like them. No we need bail reform. On top of that we need a government that takes crime seriously, cleans up the streets and sets the groundwork for an economy where people can actually afford to own (or rent) a place to live - a system that applies real consequences to this sort of behavior. That's what we need. But until we vote out this current government it's not going to change. And trust me, the people who aren't paying the price are the same people who are voting to keep this system in place, and voting for the same government to continue on. Why? Because they get paid higher wages.
I worked full time in Kelowna. My supervisor and fellow worker were homeless. They worked full time and lived out of vehicles. I lived next to a 10 million dollar lake front house that sat empty. Only ever saw workers maintain it. These are the symptoms of a failing system and we need to address root cause.
Food, shelter, clean water, don't seem like things people have much choice in. If people had these things 400 years ago, how can anything we have done since be considered progress?@@KenDavies-qv3fs
My dad lives in tent city. Lemme tell you why i dont feel bad for any of those people. They all have a story. They all have earned a spot there on the street. My dad has burned down family members homes on purpose, his own home for insurance fraud and other people whome didnt agree with him on certain matters. He has sold crack to mother whome given it there 8yr children back in winnipeg once upon a time. Ohh the storys he has told me. Hes only taught me to steal and fraud my whole life. Once upon a time he was a pool tech and a highly trained one. He was never normal tho. He always ripped people off and did shady stuff to get ahead. Took nearly 30 years to see things for how they are. Most these people were losers before the drugs. I hope he has a cold winter with the rest of his junkie "friends" in this video. Death to all. I hope they increase the potency of the poison so they just go away
Just cause your dad did those things doesnt mean all homeless people are bad, some have mental illnesses and or inuuries making them unable to work. To say death to all is very harsh, dont be surprised when God humbles you. Honestly some of the kindest people ive met have been homeless, and no i didnt give them money cause i didnt have enough to share. You cant put them all in the bad box, you dont know them all your opinion is biased, I get it though I do, your probably mad and hurt at your dad. Please give them a chance tho i promise they are not all bad.
Homelessness is going to explode for everyone pretty soon. This here is the canary in the coal mine. After WW2 , war time houses were built for veterans. We need a similar effort made today. In the meanwhile, modified shipping containers could be made into small cubicles for sleeping.
That’s true. Rent prices are through the roof. Not enough housing. There could be more people added to that homelessness list. It’s not just addicts. The government has the power to control rental pricing. They just choose not to. I don’t understand why it used to cost $800 for a one bedroom basement suite or maybe $1200 at the most to over $2000. People need to make higher wages and if you’re not making more money at work, how could you pay more for rent. Not everyone is part of a union that works for them. The government is giving all this money away to other countries so you think they’d be able to afford to help their own people. Instead of the government giving away free drugs, they should just allow people with medical problems to grow their own pot.
That is part of the problem. However, drug abuse and mental health issues are the larger issue and make up a much larger number of these people than just hard luck. Once the province closed the mental health facilities and family no longer had the power to force their loved once to get help, they were released to the streets- .and this is the end result.
The problem with advocating for housing for the homeless is we are already going into a recession, ppl in general are already struggling with inflation. Where does housing for homeless come out of? Tax dollars. I still do care about the homeless but rather than advocating for housing mabey we need to advocate for more shelters as that is much more economical
Part of the issue tho is we are already going into a recession. They tried to make things look a bit better by printing off a bunch of money, hence the 4% inflation in the last year even more actually. Housing for the homeless cost money out of tax payers $ this will put our country in more debt. Personally I think we need to advocate for more shelters as they are more economical. I agree tho hate is no solution. I truly do care about the homeless but there are many angles to think of.
@@TruthSeekers1989 There are too many angles. Gotta box em up. Like I'm currently doing. I'm dealing with a hoarder. Just cleaning her place right now. Some rich apartment builder needs to make a few buildings that have a living room / bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. I moved away from Kelowna to find lower rent. Don't have the friends here I had there. When I was looking a year ago I couldn't find a bedroom in someones house for less then $1500.00 a month. Even people who live on PWD Disability can't afford that so to get someone off the street on basic welfare ( Income assistance ) is impossible unless something happens. It sickens me to see Buildings go up in Kelowna designed for the rich and a lot of the new apartment / condos aren't even lived in year round. People from all over the place buy or rent them just to come visit Kelowna. Yes I understand Kelowna is a still up and coming but if you want it to be worth the visit you have to get the homeless OUT OF TENT CITY and into places that are warm and cozy....
You realize this is provincial government fallout from their decision to close mental health intuitions pre-Trudeau...right? I know it's easy and lazy to blame literally everything on earth on Trudeau, but doesn't it get tiring being intellectually dishonest all the time? See : BC Mental Health Act. I know, the truth is usually inconvenient.
