Sure glad I moved out of that sh**thole decades ago. Most overrated city in Canada.

It is clear that despite the investment of your unprecedented resources, the situation continues to get worse.
Quite simply, the strategy we have adopted is failing and we continue to head the way of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Every single day more and more of our citizens and their businesses are victimized by crime that is a direct result of homelessness and addiction.
    Enough is enough!
We cannot sustain another four years of this failed strategy for under the current city leadership.
Chris Williams is a former RCMP Officer and only Kelowna City Council Candidate that comes to the table with the knowledge, skills, ability and courage to drive real change on the issues of homelessness, drug abuse and crime.

Just because somebody is living in supportive housing and is technically not homeless, does not mean they continue to suffer mental health/ drug abuse. The violence is unfortunately rampant within our homeless population as well. What needs to be addressed is a greater support for mental health as well as incarceration for repeat offenders. Just look at the stats. We are the 4th most dangerous city in Canada and we also have the highest Crime rate. This is what needs to be addressed and focused on.

Perhaps it is time to employ people with real life knowledge and experience rather than relying on people who can read statistics.
It is simply a cop out to say that homelessness is going up everywhere. Does that exempt us from finding a solution to reverse the trend?
Perhaps it is time to clean house everywhere and hire competent people who do not accept that we are just like everyone else so just give us more money.

The homeless population especially in Rutland is out of control there are hundreds of people living on the streets and there is definitely not enough supportive housing or programs for these people and the programs that are available need more help more support
