hi, do u think this is sleep apnea or nocturnal panic attack? all these experience and symtomps
That fact that he is up here sharing this advice for free is admirable. Because he doesn’t have to, he could charge like so many others do. Much respect ✊ for that!!!
agreed, i felt, even tho this sounds corny, that i was like the only one dealing with this exact issue
Yo
I am learning from this
No, I can't stay in bed cause I feel I can't breath and I have to sit up to be able breath normally
You're going to get through this, i know it
Im 32, my attacks started almost exactly a year ago for the first time ever. After diagnosis i almost completely lost them, they restarted this week. The interesting thing is that they always fire up JUST as i am almost asleep. Ive learned to Identify, confirm, and ignore them in just seconds. Let my body purge the adrenaline and go back to sleep. This is the result of decades of primarily nightmares every night. Now i just move along.
I can absolutely relate 🙌 I have music nearby and focus on the music and I go back to sleep ! Thank you Jesus 🙏 because it can be horrible without the correct focus !
I can relate to you It's exactly what happened to me
I have them multiple times per night. Wake up sweating, fast heartrate, impending doom like I'm about to die. They seem to happen within an hour of falling asleep and it takes a good 30 minutes to calm down and feel normal. I've had them over 25 years and had my first while at University. Meds help, bur having this for so long it feels like I'll never escape them.
So in 25 years you didn’t think to try to face panic attacks? I had them until I facem them I had one 2 years ago from antidepressants but that’s it . Never got them even if I’m anxious. My problem is I can’t sleep I tried to face it but I think I still have a long way. Try meditation Joe Dispenza . A guy had it for 20 years and healed after learning to meditate!!
I have this every now & then, too!!! My heart pounds, I have trouble catching my breath & my blood pressure is HIGH!!! And.....it happens an hour after I go to sleep.
Mine don't stop I've had them four nights in a row atleast 8 times can't sleep I never had an issue sleeping and now I started waking at 5 in doom and trying to manage it has landed me through daytime fatigue not able to sleep and can't sleep of a night
honestly do u think this is sleep apnea or panic attacks at night?
@@httxxxxx1I am still not sure exactly.Because I usually sleep on my back when i get it an my head falls weird on the pillow like more behind.
I am having a day full of panic attacks, and just woke up from a nap and bam, another attack.. this advice is amazing, I am terrified of panic attacks, hope I can lose the fear.
The other night I woke up at around 1am on my back, even though I’ve never slept on my back before, and my arm was above my head gripping my headboard. It was numb too, so must of been doing it for a while.
And I woke up like that, shivering yet so overheated and had a horrible tingly ache in my stomach and my heart was vibrating - all of which are how I feel when I’m having a panic attack.
I was so exhausted that I couldn’t wake myself up to console myself, so I just fell back asleep after about an hour.
But then every hour or two I would wake up in that same situation! I woke up about 5 times that night feeling absolutely horrible.
It’s had me wondering if you can have a panic attack IN your SLEEP. Because I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to me.
I have been waiting for this!!! 💯💯💯❤️
The only question that changes wether youre "the right fit" for his program is how much you're willing to pay. Once again it is thrown in our faces that only those with wealth are entitled to health
Thank you so much!!! You’re amazing, what you say helps a lot!!
Thank you for you video! I have been battling night time panic attacks for the past 3 weeks. At first I was so scared I went to the ER 3 times because I was certain I was having a heart attack but they did all the tests and ekgs and x-rays and said my heart was fine. This week when I wake up I try to focus on something while it's happening not giving in to the thoughts that put me in fear. It's very heard to battle your mind but I've been fighting not giving in. This is the first time in my life having night time panic attacks. Sometimes they linger through my day but I get ahold of my thoughts before the panic attack takes control. A lot easier to control during the day. Not so easy when you wake up with one. I just don't want these to control my life. I'm so happy I ran on to your video so there is hope for these to stop. Thank you again Shaan
Wow, every single thing you described is every thing I’ve been dealing with and it’s comforting to know others are or have gone through it. Your tips about telling your anxiety that there’s no threat is definitely something I need to try, that’s is really great advice. Thank you, and great video!!
I'm one of the most chilled out people you can meet, I'm 29 and a few weeks ago, for the first time in my life, I woke up around 1am and my heart was pounding, could hear it loud in my ears getting faster and faster, sweating, feeling of dread, dehydrated, then when I calmed down I was shaking. Had it again twice since then. I'm going to try and not get out of bed next time, just let it do it's thing.
Same I called 911 I thought for sure I was having a heart attack or medical emergency that was causing me to die
How ever listening to me.That's an effective method get out of anxiety depression panic attack or anything.say Namaz and Believe in Allah. And you would be okay .It works I have tried. For some non muslim brothers there is video about that might help you understand islam.ruclips.net/video/tHC5dPIcdJQ/видео.htmlfeature=shared
How are you my friend@@Biden666
Same! I’m 32 and I happened to me about 3-4 months ago for the first time after I had a panic attack at work. I called 911 and all. I just happened to me again last night and I was freaked out… I ask my fiancé to call 911 and he helped me calm down… but initially when I was calming down I was shaking so bad… I was so scared and sure I was gonna die! I don’t do any drugs or anything, so I was freaking out!
Thank you for caring for humanity as much as you do and don’t try to profit off other people’s pain and torment. You truly are an earth angel!! I hope once I’m in recovery I can help others around me also out of love, care, and compassion. Not profit. Thank you!!!!
This is extremely helpful totally speaks to my situation
And Shaan you're a life saver;)
Just found your video. I’ve been doing exactly like you suggest to respond for years now, have been in therapy as well and by now i’ve done everything i could and even though it isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be, I still wake up with anxiety at night, especially now that I have a new job. It is what it is. I didn’t used to be like this. In my 20s until my late 30s I slept like a baby. But after too many life events and early menopause on top of that, the shit hit the fan. It is now 4:48 AM. Thanks for the distraction though.
Your explanations are awesome
I do have symptoms, but as long I started watching ur videos,I don't even want to talk about that(honestly it cured 60℅ of my symptoms in over 3 days).I'm still unable to sleep without a pill but I take it day after day.I fell asleep for an hour today n really stasfying Bcz its key that I m on crucial stage of recovery....Thx Shan kassam stay blessed....
I just woke up with an awful panic and nightmare and didn’t know what to do.. thank u for making this .. I’m kinda freaking out
This is so helpful thank you so much
I was such a good sleeper too! And I’m slowly being able to sleep now but there are days when anxiety comes in the middle of the night.
I wanna start journaling and writing poetry again. Being connected to oneself is powerful and I've lost myself for way to long everything just built up to tn . I haven't treated my body right Ina while physical health diet, exercise. Having some sort of faith in something connection with your loved ones and family don't let ego get the best of u and think you can't reach out for help I struggle with that myself. If it gets to the point you can't do it on your own let someone know. Introspectiveness like I said .. every day check up on yourself humor yourself , hype yourself up if you let yourself get on autopilot after a while you can't rely on yourself to overcome it. Most of it is pathological my friends . Woke up with one of the worst panic attacks Ina while tn had to remind myself these things I'm feeling somewhat better now. I've also been withdrawaling so thats been adding on but point being is these are strategies that have really worked for me I hope they work for y'all.
Thank you for this!
Congratz for 20K, and Thx Shaan,.. Regards from Vienna/Austria
Thanks!
I have been just dealing with this the last 2 weeks out of no where. It starts with a stuffy noise then full blown. I have been to the hospital and tried to explain and it seems like no one really listened.
Thanks for giving us hope
Thank you for sharing.
ur so amazing really helped me
I thought I was the only one how had this. Thanks maybe I will get relief.
Congrats on 20k Shaan! Your videos have been an integral part of my recovery process. Thank you.
Man, you hawe some kind of wery light condition I guess. In my case panic attack start every time that I just started to sleep. Right in spot when body start to relaxing and go to deep sleep - it happens. And continue on and on if I trying sleep again. And help some kind of overcome that only benzo trank. First time when it happens and I was not know what to do, I suffer 10 days of hell.
Understand. Not alone
Thank God someone else goes through that. It's never hours into it. It's right as I slip off into a good sleep I'm bolting up, gasping for air, pacing around my room. It's scary.
This is happening to me right now. I want to sleep and I am so sleepy. And I try sleeping and when I’m in my most comfortable spot I jump up and see very foggy. And I feel almost like a passing out sensation. But my heart just starts racing. This sucks
I’m having this as well.. I thought I’m alone
Hi i just had this new symp a panic attack while trying to go back to sleep while my eyes was close. I was scsred throught i was having a stroke heart attack with dizzyness & short of breath couldnt get air for a couple of mins.
Same how r u now

I've been getting bad anxiety attacks that turn into panick attacks for about a couple of weeks. Recently been waking up at 3-4 am having anxiety and freaking out about my heart either not beating or beating to quick.
Have always had attacks but this feels new
Yep this comes and goes for me.
How are you doing now and what did you do?
@@godloves9163 hello, still living :)
Just woke up at 7 with bad anxiety. Now in concerned about having breathing problems when sleeping because my watch is always saying my blood oxygen gets low. So hopefully soon I can check that out. Who knows, that might be the culprit

40yrs old over here. Never had any sort of panic until my mother passed away, we were super close, add to that afew other life stressors. Single father of 2, i guess it all got on top of me. Good to watch these vids to help calm my butt down.. lol
My panic attacks started about an hour after my dad died, on the way home from the hospital
@@judycrisenbery2982I feel ya.. time does heal though, I'm on that journey.. looking after health, getting enough rest n eating right helps alot. Keep support close.
@@mattparr3038 hypoglycemia can cause panic attacks also. Because adrenaline kicks out when your blood sugar goes too low.
@@judycrisenbery2982yes I'm aware of that. I've had blood test etc, my blood levels were in normal range.. who knows what the levels were when I had that sense of panic.. it was more an emotional reaction. I'm generally a chill person but that knocked me off my feet.. 😬 understandably. Grief is huge.
@@judycrisenbery2982it was likely many factors.. I still have them on occasion, but far and few. Not as bad as that one.. learnt some coping ways since then.
Thanks shaan really appreciate it 💯
God bless you brother
thx im juss going through it rn shit is insane but u are helping so much thx u ❤❤
So glad I found your channel. I've been struggling with huge anxiety issues which exploded 3 years ago. Sometimes I will suddenly wake up feeling completely suffocated with the sensation there is no oxygen in my room. It is a horrible feeling, I am very spaced out and very difficult to function. It takes 3-5 minutes to catch my breath and about 1-2 hours to overcome weakness and weird sensations over my body and spacyness to get calmed to where I can go back to sleep. I thought it was severe apnea, but after sleep studies and investigating I found out I begin to breathe fast and hyperventilate in my sleep, blowing off too much CO2. It's like I'm having a nightmare, but I never wake up remembering I've been dreaming. I'm in my mid 50s and have been struggling despite counseling, exhaustive medical testing and EMDR therapy. Going to look into trying your program. I want to get my life back and start living again!

Same every night it happens with me like I am getting a attack just when I am going to sleep I woke up like my heartbeat is stopping and gasping for air.
Any solution, I am currently on antidepressants but even my psychiatrist don't understand and also whenever I go out of the home I feel dizziness which converts to panic attacks. I am scared of this.
Thank you this helped
Awesome information. This is exactly what I’ve been going through lately.
Question:Besides getting them at night. I sometime get them or I feel like I’m about to get that feeling, during or after some kind of workout. I get winded so easily, even if it’s simple things. Is that a symptom? How do I get over that? Thanks again for everything…
The length of this video is 11.11! Haha unbelievable. It stands for goodluck and that you're on the right life path🍀 look it up it's no coincidence 💞 great video!
Angel numbers are of the devil. A lot of people are deceived ,and they dont even know it. Put Jesus first in life, thats the key.
I just saw that I'm having cardiac arrest in my dream or whatever and i was actually feeling completely numb like my body hasn't enough blood but my heart was pounding
I couldn't move my body but when i woke up i was good
It was so so so much real that i am still confused whether it was dream of real 😢😢
Thank you 💯
I agree 100% with what this guy is saying and its very helpful but the big issue is time. i have to go to school or work or whatever else, most of the time I cant lay in bed and feel everything. And this is a big stressor for me. I HAVE to get up for school or work so what can I do then
I’ve never had panic attacks in my life till I quit smoking weed about 2 months ago. Now I get them every night the same time when I’m sleep and they wake me up which is scaring me. I’m starting to learn how to control them but I really want them gone for good
Great work, Shaan, thanks for letting us feel that we are not alone. P.S.: just subscribed btw
This is me to the tee right now. I can't sleep at all rn. I have panic attacks threw out the day and at night it gets worse. It was bad at 19 to 23 for me and it went away from 23 to 25 but now I'm 26 and it's back and it's really flicking hard to remember my ticks and what helped. I just need help. It's fiff exhausting. Barley have energy
Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom ❤
Omg that’s like me exactly, just sleeping minding my own business and I get anxiety attack every night at 05.15 😩😩😩 with my heart racingg😩
Lots of shitty channels in RUclips reach 1 million, this is such a precious channel should hit definitely 500k minimum
Get a sleep study to make sure you don't have central sleep apnea which causes the same symptoms. You lose your drive to breathe and your body shoots out a bunch of adrenaline to wake you up to breathe. This is different from obstructive sleep apnea. The treatment is an ASV machine.
Thank you
Shaan this has been one of my biggest issues. I get anxiety dreams that feel super weird, i feel confused and wake up feeling so bad. Does anyone else get that symptom? Anxiety dreams?
Absolutely. My fears appear in my dreams. It makes the morning so much worse. You are not alone!
Yes!!! They're so real sometimes and I'd wake up at 230-3am.....and it made it worse so much worse.
Yes I used to have very vivid dreams but they went away & some of them did affect my day but after a while I just realized they’re just dreams and have no meaning .
@@liztowers2058 this is the usual time I wake up with anxiety . So horrible .
Yes sometimes after waking up i strongly feel like...i am going mad or about to go mad but after a few hours it vanishes but am fed up with this.. someone...pl guide me on this
This mainly happens to me when I nap. Not at night. And it makes it hard to try to nap because I know I’ll have a panic attack. I have to wake up because I can’t breath, I don’t know how to sleep with my chest feeling like I have a boulder on it. I usually just wake up. But it just sucks that I cannot nap.
I’ve had therapy and all that I know how to ground and be mindful but I just want to nap sometimes.
When I’m drifting off to sleep I wake up gasping for air and my heart beats fast. This has been happening for 6 months now.
Try deep breathing before sleep, it helped me. I also had that problem and 10 to 15 realy deep breaths helps a lot.
@@MateoBakija I also have this problem. I will try deep breathing.
That’s litteraly me😭 like every night
So for the past 3 weeks I have given up Caffeine and it’s happening less and less since. I think the caffeine I was consuming said was making me Anxious.
Man for me I can’t get tired till about 3:30Am and fall asleep around 4 is it normal to just be restless like this. I’ve always been a night owl but I would fall asleep around 2:30 now it’s 4:30 lol. I really hate it is this normal? I usually get 7-8 hours of sleep but this schedule is not cool at all. Any advice??
Congratulations legend ❤️
For the longest i thought i was crazy didn't know its anxiety attacks during sleep
Mines just a flash of fear/panic like im dropping or i wake up middle of big rush of fear and breathing in scary stuff hope its normal i keep thinking i got some underlying issue 😢
I had a panic attack in my dream and woke up to a panic attack
That’s how I was actually feeling like few minutes ago your not alone ❤️
Is Nocturnal PA the same/similar as night terrors?
Ive always suffered with GAD and remember as a young child climbing into my 9 years older big brothers bed durning the night been scared.
Im 56 and just started having these night terrors/panicky feelings again, so much so I dont sleep in bed as my partner anymore as to not disturb her because she works hard during day time hours.
Just woke up rn and felt like I couldn’t feel my heart beat , i have been having panic attacks lately and once went to the ER and all my tests came out normal ecg , blood , bp etc , i don’t know what to do anymore
I suffer from nocturnal panic attacks, scariest thing i have ever felt
I was having an uncomfortable dream and I was in pain that how I woke up today at 6 am. As a started to stand my upper back, chest and neck was tight and painful, I walk towards the living room and my vision was blurred I was sweating and I couldn’t hear clear, all I could hear was a buzzing sound. When I breathed my neck and chest was hurting. I thought I was having a heart attack, it felt like dying. I drank 2 Advils and then I calmed down. I went to the doctor and my heart was perfectly healthy. It is the first time I am experiencing something like this. Was it a panic attack?
Most comments say they wake up with the attacks. Thats actually pretty lucky. They cause me not to sleep. And I literally do not sleep for any second for days on end.
Damn bro I’m going through this right now
Watching this at 5am with a weird fizzy feeling in my head....that'll be the adrenaline then! Thank you ❤❤❤
Just had one I’m pretty sure still wondering if I’m alright generally thought I was dying… also 22 yrs old. I usually get them in the day first time experienced one being asleep
But i woke up gasping for air nd it feels like choking like my body dont let me breath? Is it normal?
I wake up in my sleep feeling like I'm going to die. It got so bad I wouldn't sleep for weeks. I would sit up in bed and lay down. Over and over, for weeks. I half to take Xanax every night to keep them down
Does this fit into getting into panic and feeling confused to where i am or what i am ?
How many people really followed this technique and felt better?
If only the doctor explained it like this
Doctors tend to be mean
How can u say that to ur self and cognitively say and think properly when ur in limbic brain during a panic attack?
When I try not to think about it or let I just happen it gets worse
This did not help me.... when I let my nocturnal anxiety ride itself out I just spiraled further into it a panic attack. When I let the bad thoughts and feeling run their house they just drown me. Relaxing and letting it take its course made it worse for me.
But I also don't have the luxury of "just sleeping tomorow". I have to work, so between my nocturnal anxiety and panic attacks, I HAVE TO work, or I go homeless again. Which means I HAVE to sleep, but I can't. WhIch makes my anxiety worse, and my work worse, my nights worse, and my days worse, hence the spiral.
For anyone that goes through the shaking, heart rate increase, breathing etc, how do y’all sleep after ? I’m having a hard time sleeping and I need goo
For me it’s just trying to rationalise that this is just anxiety and nothing more serious. Before, I used to think I was having a heart attack or some other cardiac event and that thought used to keep me up and make me more anxious. So for me it’s just recognising this isn’t serious it’s just anxiety. Hope you get better it sucks
Panic attack is really crazy it's funny at times
I get scared to go to sleep because of this.
I have this and it’s terrible 😢😢😢. I can’t stay in bed I would just jump out and I will be alone in the house it’s terrible
I woke up in a panic the other night. I jumped out of bed, ran to my husband and said my heart is racing, I’m a have a heart attack. I was so scared I really thought I was going to die. It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I slept with 4 pillows and with the light on. I don’t ever want to experience that ever again 😢
I suggest playing music with words and focusing on the music 💕 also essential oils have helped me tremendously 🙌 praying for you ❤️
Stay in bed? In the morning, and many people advise you to get up immediately, is this true?
Bro Iam 15 I have no stress anything Iam healthy but I have nocturnal panic attack 😢😢😢
I am facing same situation
Can anxiety and stress be causing you mutliple wake ups like every hr ? Fragmented sleep. I literally wake up every hr 4-6 times a night. I can fall asleep, the crazy thing is i dont feel
Anxious or have a panic attacks when i wake up.
Yes this is what happened to me the first time i started getting panic attacks, i could sleep but would wake up easily
I'm 28 been having this for over month now may sleep 2/3 hours a night and just want to die
It will get better my friend.Don't get discouraged.
I've had it twice over two long periods during my adult lifetime and wouldn't be surprised that I had over a thousand nocturnal panic attacks which I got up to six per night while asleep..
I was always drained and paranoid, especially when trying to go to sleep knowing what's to come and I could never switch off only made worse that I have to wake up early for the day ahead..
It's been about 2\3 years now since my last one, but the thought stays with me which lead to my sleeping anixey..
I used to think that I'm about to die because of these attacks the first time round because I never knew what they were and my safeguard was to move about the room, go to the bathroom etc and try again for the 4th time tonight..
Yet they came back the second time 15 years later worse than ever because of a life situation and the guilt I was carrying which brought it all back.. Only this time, I was encouraging it by not moving as much and go back to sleep within seconds because I knew what it was.. But still they came until I received some counciling and it's been 2\3 years now like I said since the last one..
Looking back now, I've saw the connection between the two and with help and support, I was able to move on and forward and one less stress on my mind (and heart) and hopefully more capable of dealing with it again if I was unfortunate for it to re-acure..
It's the worst feeling if you don't know what's happening and felt so life threatening every time it happened and all I can say now in my mind(out loud lol) is..
My heart is stronger than I imagined, but have to keep it healthy as I reach my mid 50s and not give in to fear of possibilities when I go to sleep which is 2\3years in..
But I do fear of me getting it again for when the next traumatic moment of life happens like the last two did..
And all I can do is take it day by d.. I mean night by night haha in coping..
It's seems to be working..
And I know I can't die from it..
Which is probably why I encouraged it last time round..
It don't half mess with your mind though that's for sure and pleased I've sussed it finally 👍
How did counselling help? What did they make you do to help with them? I’ve been getting them for 4 months straight not knowing what to do about it.
@@mmm__we The councilling helped when they said it won't kill you..
Best advice I can give is
"Don't be afraid of it"
It thrives off fear
Try not to think about it before you go to sleep
Tell yourself "it want you to fear it, but you won't let it"
And try to fog it off as nothing when you do get one and calmly go back yo sleep..
Pacing yourself into a worry will encourage it
It's all about mind control
Good luck with dealing with yours..
Hope it's sound advice 🙏
Thank God I am not alone 😂
