If you had Windows installed on a steamdeck, would you be able to use the ipad as a first monitor? Or is this a bad idea? 😂 I really don’t want to bring my personal laptop because I travel a lot.
Is there any way I can just bring a steamdeck or mini pc + ipad? 😢
How about windows +steamdeck to ipad?
man I know it is possible to do usb 2.0 stream directly because of how well superdisplay works on windows. It doesn't seem like this is possible at the moment on Linux..
Have you found something?
@@jhonvillacis6949 I have found that it's impossible.
I'll try this! I have a controller so I'd just turn the Steamdeck around bc it would annoy me seeing the two screens lol
would this work on a chromebook
What if you do C to C?
Anyone got the specific ethernet/usb hub model that he has? Like an Amazon link or something?
This is the one in the video: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H2ZS1B5
However, I've been told that it's better to get a 4K60 hub for better performance:

@@dna_remixwouldnt the 4k/60 just apply to via HDMI output?
I cannot figure this out with my android tablet
Has anyone been able to get this going on an Android Tablet, trying to get my Tab 8 Ultra and havent had much luck.
Sorry I can't be of much help - since I don't have an Android Tablet. One thing to start with is figuring out if the Steam Link app just works over regular WiFi?
@@dna_remix yeah I use the wifi steam link constantly, its getting the ethernet connection working that is the issue
This would be much better if we could turn the screen for the deck off, would increase the battery life doing this.
I will need to investigate that more - wonder if a script can be written to do just that.
@@dna_remix I know its possible as a lot of people have been showing off those new AR OLED glasses lately that connects via USB and it turns the screen off when using them so young et more juice.
Can i use a mouse and keyboard on android verison of steam link
Great video!!
How bad is the latency?
Moonlight app has less input lag than steam link
Can both devices be offline?
Sorry for being this late. But does it also work in OBS? (Hdmi 2 USB) thx 👍🏼
Did you figure it out?
@@jhonvillacis6949 not yet, busy atm with work. Im gonna look into it, because i just want to know . I will give you a heads up,when i do 👊🏼
Can we do similar setup using xbox series s
Can this work with just an HDMI cable / windows laptop that's what im trying to use right now
Most laptops can't act as an HDMI Input - that's why I'm using the Steam Link app to make it a laptop act as a monitor. You may be able to use something like an HDMI capture device for that use case.
thank you !
thanks for watching!
Umm you still used an Ipad, we need to see how you do it in an actual Tablet or Laptop
Could you please do a walkthrough of setting up the screen resolution using xrandr? Also, were you able to get the magic keyboard scroll gesture to work? How?
Can I use Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra?
Did you got it?
With windows you would just need 1 usb c cable
Great video
Now i can use as a laptop
Really nice
3:27 Tutorial
this is a gamechanger
Lol from 7" on Steam Deck to 14" on Macbook Pro isn't a 2x more screen but 4 times! if it was 2x more screen size it would be ultrawide - just like 49" ultrawide monitor is TWICE the screen size of 27" but 54" 16:9 would be 4x the screen size 😅

I just installed windows on my deck and use the wireless display to my samsung tab
How good is it?
Ew
Latency must be fucking hell while gaming
@User29 Not ideal for competitive shooters, but it's perfectly fine for everything else. Was on the highway for 8h last week and used my deck, dock, usb mech keyboard, Bluetooth mouse, and iPad to effectively have a full gaming rig while my wife drove. Used the ipad case to "mount" it in the glovebox and Steam Link to push video to it. Keyboard on my lap, mouse on the armrest. Easiest 8h of my life.
@@bamboozalicious no i get that, its fine since it's a wired connection but my comment was towards the guy who streamed the picture from his deck to his samsung tab.
its funny becuz ipad pro with m1 (or m2) is considerably more powerful than SD !
just becuz of the software they are severely limited which is sad...
base m1 air runs witcher 3 at 1080p high 30fps and that's through a layer of emulation...
If only Apple could write their own compatibility layer but we all know that is not happening
Just learnt that is what Apple's Game Porting Toolkit is for but unlike Steam, the onus is on the dev to use the tool
I suggest you can have a look on gpd win max 2
That's a pretty wild looking device! I'll stick to the steam deck for now :D
This is actually really fucking good for the sake of playing coop games with my wife in bed. The lack of turning off the screen is a boon for me because i can just game on my deck while my wife connects with her DS5 to her iPad lol.
Is it possible to do this via ad hoc with the Steam Deck broadcasting a wifi signal or something, so that me and the wife aren't tethered to a physical connection?
Yes, you can use AP mode to do this. At some point I did get AP mode working, check out `linux-wifi-hotspot` package. I don't recall the exact steps, it will require some technical/terminal knowledge to set up.
